  Try to start the device without the attached network cable. When it reaches 75% then re - attach the network cable.

  If this does not work you can try operating the restraint system and reseating the HDDs.

  There is a newer version of the firmware. I recommend updating to the latest version to see if the problem persists.

  This week I lost one of my drives HARD 6 in my StorCenter px6 - 300 d. He just died because a Seagate Barracuda firmware bug.

  First... I have the warranty until 10/2015, but I'm not able to solve this problem with Lenovo support to the Brazil. (BIG PROBLEM)

  Second... To be sure that my data is more safe, I just brought a new HDD (same model as the one lost) and added to my StorCenter px6 - 300 d. I received a message that the new HARD drive should be 'formatted' to rebuild the RAID. It has RAID 6 with total 6 x 2 TB HARD drive. However, it is for 2 days of work (flashing bright white) and display will show 0% done. I am not able to access web interface NAS, or anything like that.

  What should I do? How to solve this problem? Thanx.

  
  

• X 300 Wifi seems to be dead. It is possible to diagnose?

  My X 300 3 years and more impressive still works very well in all categories, but WiFi seems to be just dead. If I run an audit on this subject, it checks only the PCI connection, which is fine. I can't find another way to diagnose the real itself WiFi module. All seems well in the software, but it does not see all the networks. When I click on 'find networks' with logins, the hourglass appears only for a second.

  Any tips? I am running XP Pro with all the updates.

  Look in Device Manager, you should have a section called network cards.

  Expand it and there should be something that relates to your WIFI adapter. Check the properties and see if it is enabled. If it is not enable and try again.

  also, head to > http://support.lenovo.com and cross check the download page and update your device accordingly.

• PX6 - 300 d - double Raid 1 is not possible?

  Hi guys, I hope I'm missing something, so I'm tender hand to support community. I've had a px6 for awhile now. I love. Works very well with VMWare hypervisors. I've been running a RAID 1 and a RAID 5 for over a year without any problems.

  Now, my needs have changed. I run 2 raid-1 matrices. I deleted my raid-5 array and don't see Ano option in the list to create another Raid-1. Why is this? I see raid-10, but not what I need. Just another Raid-1.

  In my case, I need to divide the disk IO system in another array of disks in raid1. Simply becoming the current Raid1 is not enough, because there a lot of requests for e/s which should not weigh down the second raid-1 array. I need raid1 because of the performance and the protection it offers.

  Can someone comment on the creation of another array of Raid-1? I hope that I don't need to buy another NAS compete for this task.

  Figured it out. There is a bug in the GUI. Once you have 1 raid-1 array configured, there is no option to create an another raid-1 array. BUT, if you select a new table and set of raid-10, it can reset to raid-1 on the creation. I have now 2 tables separated from Raid1 created by doing it this way. They are NOT wiped off of mirrors raid-10.

  Thank you for your support. The problem has been resolved by reinstalling the software. It seems that the new version of the software is out - strange here was that my request for resource monitor appeared also to update in the update software tab.

• PDF to Word via the online converter

  I use the converter online for the first time. My PDF files are the result of analysis, of course, I have images for the pages. The online converter seems to just churn and churn for hours and hours. On average, how long should it take the online converter to produce a 300-page pdf to a file word document?

  Looking to buy a macbook pro 2014, battery life is important enough and the machine, that I'm looking seems really well taken care of but the battery charge cycle is 300. Is this ok or normal? I don't like the idea that it is a third of the used way!

  Regardless of the number of cycles a battery has gone through, replace the battery with five years of service.  Age is a factor in the health of a lithium-ion battery.

  Assuming a battery will last in its setting of 1000 cycles design (most don't) suggests that 200 cycles per year would be realistic.  The MBP you are considering have 300 cycles seems to be quite normal given his age.  I wouldn't worry.

• Grainy images

  I resized the 300 and 72 dpi images in photoshop and used "Save for web" option Then imported into Dreamweaver. When you preview in the browser images grainy and initially images 300 DPI seem to look better than those initially lower quality. Size of original quality is a major factor in grainy images or is there something else?

  Thanks for the help. Problem is now solved - it wasn't a Photoshop problem with my jpg files but the fireworks. I had to change an optimization option which I've never had to do before, but you live and learn! Images are now nice and crispy in the browser.

• kernel_task runaway (from 300 to 600%) CPU with 2 external displays

  I have a MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012), and for a year and a half, I've had episodes fighter during the kernel_task suddenly begin to consume all processor CPU (from 300 to 600%), is the response of the system so slow it is impossible to use.  I experience these episodes throughout the front 1-2 years that the machine went from Yosemite El Capitan and now Sierra.

  Normally, I use my MacBook with two external displays, both at work and at home.  At work, I have two external screens of Lenovo, and at home, I have two screens Apple (Apple Cinema Display 27-inch and 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Display). I discovered that this kernel_task high CPU usage can only be stopped by disconnecting one of the external screens.  After unplugging an external display, the kernel_task subsides immediately to normal (< 5%).  After a few minutes, I can reconnect the 2nd external screen and proceed normally (sometimes for days, sometimes for hours, sometimes for a few minutes) until the kernel_task pulls up to 300-600% again.  The use of the high CPU kernel_task never happens unless I have two external displays connected.

  Note that since I upgraded to MacOS Sierra fugue kernel_task CPU frequency has increased considerably: of 1 kernel_task runaway every several days to a runaway almost every 10 minutes or so.   I don't have a reason this frequency has increased, but the runaway condition seems to have worsened by the fact that the photoanalysisd daemon is running like crazy on my grand (72 000) library of Photos.

  Also note that I started in recovery mode and have re-installed MacOS Sierra, and it has no effect on the runaway kernel_task.

  Any ideas on how to fix this resumption of kernel_task of all my CPU?
