  • Sony lens hoods

The kit lens Sony 16-50mm is supplied without a lens hood and the 55-210mm does. Is there a reason? Is it more important to use one with the 55-210mm?

Lens hoods are to avoid flare (the light from a source off-angle bouncing around inside the lens barrel). Using a lens hood is always a good idea, but the SELP1650 retracts to form a compact set when the power is turned off (or asleep). With an attached lens hood may interfere with the ability of the lens to retract, no mention can still be as compact as it may be otherwise.

Unfortunately, the SELP1650 suffers from flaring during and could benefit from the use of a visor, but also unfortunately, it suffers from vignetting at the wide end and a visor would almost certainly what's worse.

  • Is it possible to get the Lr 6 for the FE 24-240 zoom SONY lens profile in Lr 5.7.1?

I see that Lr 6 has this profile of 24-240 zoom lens, but is not in 5.7.1.  It would be really nice if the profile could be loaded in 5.7.1 as there is nothing in the 6 that I need and want the RAW/ARW profile for lens of ths.  Any help out there?

The profiles installed by the DNG Converter are used only in PS/ACR not LR.

Under Windows, you can copy the profile of the LCP under LR 6 to get 5 LR uses a profile of LR 6:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\Sony\ (Sony FE 24-240mm F3. 5 - 6.3 OSS) - RAW.lcp

  • Sony: Lens profile Creator knows the subject distance, ACR does not

When you do a profile of lenses for Sony alpha DSLR, lens profile creator identifies the focal distance and treats each distance accordingly. However, when loading in ACR (or PS lens correction filter), the software does not display the distance. Why then LPC read the distance between the subject and ACR cannot?

The distance reported in ACR/bridge is based on metadata, if they are available. The distance reported by SALW and stored in the profile is an estimate calculated directly by the SALW based on the size of the printed patch and the size of the patch captured (in pixels of the screen), among other factors. For many cameras, #1 is not available, even if #2 is.

  • FS7K lens Image stabilization

Received my KIt FS7K Thursday here in the United Kingdom.

First of all, let me give you a profile of use of the previous video Sony:

Currently I still own both the Sony HVR - Z5 (using Atomos) and Sony HXR - NX5 - my market spent was of videos on the site. Have all two large x 20 G lenses with IS excellent for the operation at hand. What residual movement at hand could often be stabilized using Adobe 5.5 and 2014 CC AE Stabilsing - no probem. I'm a fan of the 'pocket' more of 20 years, dating back to the early days of broadcasting in English

What I see in my test of the FS7K shots is much more "shake". In fact I would say the lens SELP28135G gives me NO stabilization even if I chose the option "camera > Steadyshot > Steadyshot.» "Steadyshot Active" option which, in my experience in previous products, is 'more aggressive' is not selectable.

I can confirm that the 'Otptical Steady Shot' switch on the lens all is market' '.

Formats and codecs I test: HD 1920 x 1080 50 p and 50i as my previous experiences - not yet disappeared to test the 4K again.

What gives? We expect the firmware updates?

The Steadyshot indicator in the viewfinder, not necessarily told you the truth! This is why you must turn it on whenever you turn on. It is my understanding that this issue will be resolved in a next update.

The asset IS is not compatible with the objective of stock but is compatible with some other Sony lens. Talk to your Sony representative to find out which ones who.

    See you soon,.

  • Sony TV converters

I have the full camera framed with Sony A99v. My goal are Sony 70-300mm G, Sigma 150-500mm F5-6. 3 APO HSM. 1.4 to 2.0 of Sony AF teleconverters will work with the A99 motorway and the 2 lens I mentioned. What other Sony lens work with the teleconverters and A99v? I have not found information on what works with these converters. I don't want to put the money without knowing that they will work. Thank you

That these lenses are compatible with the teleconverters. the two lenses that you are not on the list.

NOTE: due to the quality of this converter design (elements 5/4 groups), the only teleconverter will adapt and work with a wide selection of lenses. Only the Sony or Minolta following objectives are compatible:

    • f/2.8 300mm (D) SSM
    • f/2.8 70-200mm (D) SSM
    • f/2.8 APO G 200
    • f/2.8 APO G 300
    • f/4 APO G 300
    • f/4.5 APO G 400
    • 600 f/4 APO G

Note: the following objectives can be used in manual focus mode:

    • 70-400mm f/4-5, 6 G SSM
    • 135mm f/2.8 [T4.5] STF
    • Macro 200mm f/4 G

all a-mount will work with your A99 but it is strongly recommended that you use a lens that is designed for a full frame as your A99 sensor, also the problem with the teleconverters is that they reduce the amount of light to the sensor so if your using the Converter 2 x one F2.8 it becomes a F5.6.

  • I have an a57 and need to know if the lens will fit with the a77?

  • Specific objective Lightroom Presets

Can't seem to solve this problem of Lightroom since I use my new camera, a Sony A7ii. I used it with a native lens from Sony (a 24-70 f.4 FE) and a variety of lenses vintage (with adapters).

That is the problem. After having played with and award of the basic presets for the camera/FE 24-70, the presets combo of same - as well as lens corrections - are applied to all photos, including those taken with other lenses. I tried to reverse this problem by removing the lens corrections and assign a new preset - thinking this would remove the lens corrections for all photos taken with the objectives other than the 24-70 FE. No luck. This made out lens correction presets on all future imports, including those taken with the EF 24-70.

So what I am doing wrong? I know that in pre-selected preferences, there are options of specific camera and ISO specific presets. But what about the specific glasses?

The default value of the profile of lens for lenses with adapter (not recognized) is how to associate the Sony lens profile you use (FE 24-70mm).

    Try this:

    (1) select a raw image file shot with that of the adapter mounted lenses and click on the "Reset" button at the bottom of the Panel parameters develop.

    (2) in the Panel next to "Setup" lens Corrections, click the two-headed arrow and select "Reset Lens default profile." 'Make' should now be set to "None" and "Setup" the value "Default".

    3) go to the menu develop > set default settings > click "Update to current settings".

This should prevent a profile of lenses apply to unrecognized adapter lenses and your goal (s) Sony will be the profile of lens with your settings 'by default'. You can change the default settings of 100 of distortion and vignetting 100 for each objective independently with unique values.

  • Goal profiles does not not in Lightroom 5.4?

I've got OSX 10.9.2, Lightroom 5.4, last Camera raw, everything is up-to-date.

When I "Allow for correction of profile" for an image taken with a Sony a7r and 55 mm Sony FE lens, it should automatically recover this profile:

    / Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Sony/SONY (Sony FE 55mm F1.8 ZA) - RAW.lcp

Well, this isn't.  Lens Sony optical available in Panel of Correction in Lightroom is "Sony DT 18-200mm."  But there are several dozen profiles Sony lens in the directory 'Sony '.

And more confusing, the camera 'Make' menu lists 8 manufacturers (Apple, Canon, DJI, GoPro, Nikon, Sigma, Sony, Tamron) but leaves aside a number others - Fujifilm, Leica, Hasselblad, Mamiya, etc.

And as for Sony, only one goal Tamron is listed.

I tried to reinstall fresh Lightroom and not luck.

Photoshop works very well and has all the profiles of the lens.

Anyone else noticing this?  You have a difficulty?

    Upset in Cambridge,

    Mike

RAW or Jpeg? I'm guessing not raw. Most of the profiles of lenses are for Raw files only... and I can see this profile when I select a Raw file, but not if I select a rendered file.

  • Problem with Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 lens

I had this problem for awhile now, whenever I turn on the camera (Sony a5000) with the 16-50mm lens, the will of the right lens extend and retract endlessly with the goal of opening and closing the shutter. The extension and retractable stops after 5 seconds or more and I am displays the error message 'unrecognized Lens. Please reinstall lens. "I also noticed an unevenness of the lens when it is completely retracted. one side of the lens is higher than the other side. I tried to reset the camera settings and clean the contacts. My camera body works well because I used another lens and it worked perfectly. Here is a video recorded demostrating camera my problem. Feel free to leave comments on what could be the problem and how I can solve this problem.

    Hello

What you described about the error and the unevenness of the lens, I would say that the lens would require service. I recommend the lens in sending one of our authorized Service centers.

Sent a PM on where you can send the camera.

  • Sony SAL75300 lens

I am the owner of Sony SAL75300 lens, is there a tele-converter that can go with this goal. Kindly advice.

    The answer is 'no '.

The long answer is "Yes, but..." "Most teleconverters cost much more than the SAL75300 and if you found one that was consistent (that is, can in good physical shape and will not damage the lens or himself during the operation), it wouldn't support AF with any reliability, and it would degrade the quality of the image faster than simply cropping of the images of the objective in itself.

Teleconverters are cruel and ruthless and surprisingly strong demand and fast lenses think in a first time - 300/2.8 or 500/4.  I used Sony X with the 70 - 200/2.8 G SSM 2.0 (more sharp lens I've ever used) and was disappointed by the results.
