Q180 Problem WOL

Looking to use my Q180 as a media center that Wake On Lan needs to work for me. It's my second Q180. The first unit I bought had no DVD player but WOL worked perfectly well. My other PC and my Xbox could wake the Q180 of sleep by sending a magic packet. I returned one to get one that had the DVD player. For some reason any WOL will not work on this device. I thought it was my Xbox but I tried 2 other computers and they could not wake up the unit. I went into the Device Manager and checked the NIC card to make sure power management authorized WOL, which was the case. Not sure if there is something wrong with the NETWORK card in my unit, but I need a solution soon, or well I need to send it back. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

Figured it out. Discovered how to access the bios. WOL is disabled by default in the bios.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  • Slow download speeds Q180

Just got my setup Q180 last night. It is connected to my wireless N. Note that, while I watch YouTube videos is often missing from buffer. Has decided to perform a speed test www.speedtest.net. The results show .65mb speed and 6.5 MB speed. My service should be 20 MB down and 10 MB upwards. So high speed seems just, but download speed is TERRIBLE, he turns to 2% what it should be. I ran the test of speed, even using my laptop in the same place and reached 18mbps down and 6.5 upwards.

It is a limitation of the Q180, or is there something wrong or a setting I need to solve this problem? Honestly, this thing is pretty useless to me without a better download speed, after all, pretty much the only reason why I did it was to do things from the internet on my TV in the living room.

    Thank you

  • Auto new imaging HP T610 problem

I have a bunch of new T610s from HP that I need the image. I used one to create the environment I want, and I can manually copy this image to the HPDM, then manually deploy that image on a new (self discovered) thin client.

When I add a "rule" for first Contact Rules:

    Name: Auto Image

Filter set (all criteria, IP address contains 10.22 which is the first two parts of all our internal IP space, I really want to a filter that would say all/all) if I click on generate a list of devices, it shows all existing devices.

    Trigger: first Contact

    Operating system: HP WES/XPe

    Category: imagery

: Model 20131118 rule (self created when I took the picture manually)

    Activated: ticks

When I plug a new HP T610, it is automatically detected by HPDM (DHCP specifies the HPDM) and then proceeds to restart in a cycle, and never made the task of imagery.

    The HPDM log shows:

Card to the master repository repository

Special Envoy to the device management gateway

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

etc., until I cancel the job

Reset the status of the task to cancelled

Can someone tell what I could be doing wrong, or how I can make this work? Should I manually start a task image, is the "first time" works not properly, I have to narrow the filter to avoid 'already seen' devices somehow?

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks for your suggestion, I checked that the devices already come with the new version of the agent.

I found/solved the problem, which I had changed the settings by default in:

Tools-> Configuration-> task settings-> write filter, WOL and adjournment of the task

I changed it to "run regardless of the State of the write filter.

So obviously the thin client was sent to the statement to start the task of imaging, rebooted, then collected the statement again from the beginning etc... creation of the loop.

Once I changed this back to the ' If write filter on restart to clean the overlay, to execute and to commit and then restart for commitment is taken into account ", everything works perfectly.

    Hope this helps someone else...

    Kind regards

  • Wake on LAN (WOL) through different VLAN on SG-300-10

    Hello

I try to get WOL working through different VLAN on a Switch SG-300-10 in layer 3 Mode.  To achieve this, I set up a UDP relay (GUI menu Configuration IP) for UDP Port 7 to 255.255.255.255 (this should inundate all interfaces with the package), however, does not work WOL in different VLANS.  When I am connected directly to the VLAN corresponding, WOL works fine in the same subnet.  Am I missing something here?

    All comments appreciated!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Romeo,.

A few minutes to try it on my SG300 - 10 p mode layer 3.

My NAS unit is capable WOL and I thought I would use it in my test environment...

Ran a basic test to check my sender of packet Magic from my PC "awakened" my NAS unit.

As you would expect, on the same subnet, the magic packet WOL caused my NAS unit to power, no problem.

But this isn't really the test, just a test database to check that my sender of the packet magic WOL and NAS was working well.

The screenshot below shows WOL software I used on my PC.  Why use this software, no reason except that it was available for free. Also, I'm sure other WOL software out there for different platforms that work just as well or with more features.

First of all, I see according to your question, you used relays UDP destination port 7, well it is the default setting on the UDP relay on my switch.

I wonder why you used or stayed with destination UDP port 7, because the Magic packet mailers may use different destination UDP ports?

I had to use wireshark to see the real destination UDP port that uses my sender of the magic packet WOL.

Notice of capturing wireshark above, that my magic packet software uses the UDP port destination 9, NOT the default value that you can see on the switch. Ignore what wireshark labels this port.

    OK, I then created a VLAN that I named "VLAN2' with a = 2 VID on my SG300 - 10 p (SRW2008P-K9-NA)

I added a 192.168.2.1/24 IP interface to VLAN2, which is a different network from the default VLAN.

I then added three ports this VLAN newly created as a member untagged VLAN2.

The default VLAN (VID = 1) an IP network 192.168.10.0/24.

My NAS (WOL capable) unit has an IP address of 192.168.10.61.

I plugged my PCt to the vlan 2 and statically assigned 192.168.2.2/24.  It is the PC that has the magic package software.

I added a route static to my router WAN, just so that I could access the router my PC attached to the VLAN2 WAN.

I tried the magic packet WOL software and will not turn on my NAS.  He expected that the magic packet broadcast would never jump over a limit of LAN in one VLAN different...

Now, I tried to install a UDP relay so that the Magic Packet WOL "would be" the VLAN2 network interface VLAN1.

So I configure and add to my SG300 UDP relay entry - 10 p.   See the screen capture below.

I have to admit, I'm used to using UDP relay normally take a netbios broadcast and unicast to a server Ms.

But check the screenshot below, I put the switch to send the UDP relay to the broadcast address of VLAN1 network... The magic packet Wakeup sent from my PC into 2 VLANS must have passed over the limit VLAN that my NAS unit woke.

In order to check the destination port UDP to your WOL software using wireshark, and then create an appropriate UDP relay.

Experiment and play with that, once you get your device WOL properly powereing successfully.

    Best regards, Dave

  • Can WOL while the port is configured to authenticate through ISE

    Hi all

    I tried setting up WOL

The L3 switch configuration I have no problem in it

Configuration of the L2 switch without configuration of ISE

    interface fa0/1

    switchport access vlan 100

    switchport mode access

    spanning tree portfast

It works well, but after that I put the ISE configuration on the port, WOL is not working.

so please help can I use ISE + WOL or there will be problems because of that.

I read a custom ' authentication control direction in "which should enable ISE and WOL.

then, which will affect on something.

    Thank you.

Yes, that's correct. If you add the command "authentication control-direction in" on a switchport then he will allow the "Magic Packet" WoL should be sent to the unit of the end and wake him up.

By default, a switchport configured to dot1x will only allow EAP traffic initially to the switchport (thereby breaking WoL) you don't need to add the command "authentication control-direction in" to allow WoL functionality to continue working while ensuring that the endpoint can still only send EAP frames to the switchport prior authentication of 802. 1 x.

  • Conflicting options for computer wake up do not allow for WOL work.

I try to get WOL to work and will have a lot of questions.  I checked the WOL packets receive at my PC and will wake the computer, but with these settings enabled, my PC wake up too often. Using Wireshark I identified packages that LLMNR and normal of the ARP requests are waking up the computer. I have scoured the internet looking for a solution but have had no success.

MY MAIN PROBLEM AND THE ISSUE IS WITH THE POWER MANAGEMENT OPTIONS. When the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is not selected, it is gray on the option "allow this device to wake the computer". Therefore, the only way to allow packets wake up the computer is to allow the computer turn off the network adapter. IT SEEMS INHERENTLY CONTRADICTORY, because what is happening now is that shortly after the computer goes to sleep, the computer disables the network adapter, which then makes using WOL impossible. Is there a solution to this? WOL is an extremely important element for me and its current inability to function that makes me come back to Windows as my OS choice, although in truth it might not run on another platform either. Any help would be appreciated.

  • WOL configuration on the NETWORK card double Port

    Hello

I have Intel Pro/1000 MT Dual Port host 4i ESX Server Board.

Problem is that I can't do DPM as single port shows Wake On Lan Yes.

When I try to put the host in standby mode I get the VCenter error telling me that the host cannot do DPM. All works well if only one port is configured

How to activate WOL on the second Nic port?

    Ideas?

    Thank you

Some multi-port network cards does not support WoL on all ports.  Apparently, this CARD is one of them.  It is a hardware limitation and so we cannot do anything in the software - that is to say you can not enable WoL IDE oucederomsurlesecondport if the hardware does not support. What you need to do, is to have vmotion nic based on the physical network adapter that supports WOL.  The wake-up packets are sent in the teddy bear that supports the interface of vmotion.

  • MacBook Pro display problem

    Hello members of the community.

As of recently, I have noticed some glitches when feeding on my MacBook or awakened from his sleep.

The colors are distorted, usually with pink, green, or yellow blobs. Blobs cannot entirely replace the colors, they appear to be contained in a element would normally be. For example. the menu bar will be partially pink and white, but pink does not leave the menu bar in this area, and the Office has green lines on it.

I tried to take a screenshot, but the problem resolves in about 20 seconds, but it's a recurring problem.

It happens when I wake up, connection or not. I had also certain powers serious and problems of performance, such that my MagSafe LED would not illuminate when plugged on rare occasions, fan could turn unnecessarily, graphics performance were SUPER slow, and the health of my battery was running out quickly. I actually ran a report on the system at 2 different times and my quality of full load is depleting of 1.2% per charge cycle, which is very worrying. I went from 6281 mAh mAh 6138 maximum capacity after two cycles of load. I'm tracking closely it because at this rate, my battery will survive only at load cycles about 150 instead of the 1000 expected, gives me the idea that this could very well be a bad battery. The computer is also warm to the touch while you sleep, not connected to the power supply. I NAP active but even taking into account should not be hotter my iPhone did the same thing.

I have reset the SMC, and it solved a couple of problems. The charger works fine now and my performance improved considerably (which made me feel better, either it is a high-performance laptop, a 11-inch MacBook Air should not he surpass), and battery life has improved. I feel even if it uses a lot of power in his sleep. Maybe I need to turn off the NAP and see if that makes a difference. The graphic bug still persists however, and I don't have enough time to see if the max battery is depleting again.

In regards to the bug, is there something that can be done? Basically, I want to assure you that I took all appropriate measures or if someone else has this problem to see if it can be software related instead of my computer.

I have the entry level MacBook Pro with the retina, last generation.

    Any constructive contribution welcome!

    See you soon.

  • with IOS 10.0.2 - 5s iphone Bluetooth problems

Since upgrading ISO 10.0.2 my M50 from PLT Plantronics (helmet unique headset) do not reliably connects with my iPhone 5 more. I have to go to the settings, activate bluetooth turned off/turned on, touch the device on the bluetooth page, etc. Once it connects successfully, it will reconnect (if I turn off the headset and turn it back on) for a short period. It has always worked perfectly before the 10th of IOS.

And, as I noticed others mentioning, the volume is much lower with IOS 10. The maximum volume is much lower. I can barely hear it now, more normal background noise, while driving.

    I did:

Forget this device for the PLT M50 and paired again (several times)

I did a Reset Network Settings
