  • BlackBerry Smartphones Content Protection enabled

I chose to use this feature and went through the procedure in the Councils of BB. He said "initially, it can take some time."

It's three days now with the BB closed the night for at least 8 hours each night. I have 1.8 GB on press card.

    What is a normal period?

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, if protection is all that worry you, then set a password on the device.  If you are really interested, set the timeout for a minute or two at the most.  Unless you filed - not your email - FILES on a SD card, encryption does nothing but slow the device down - but you know that already.  If you lose your device and it is locked, enter the wrong password 10 times (you can set less than attempts), the BlackBerry will erase all data on it and get back to its factory settings.  This may NOT, however, all the data on your SD card.

In addition, the encryption key is generated and available only on your BlackBerry.  You cannot open a file on your SD card with your computer.  The key is generated when you enable encryption.  If your device fails or wiped clean, the key went forever - and so is EVERYTHING on your SD card.  It is still there, but nothing can decipher it.  If this is the kind of security you really need, then be my guest.

Hey Blackberriers. How to verify backups of BB protect App?

You choose a recent backup file and you load it... end of story. All that was on your phone at the time and meets the criteria of what you want to back up gets restored.
As I have already said, you can not check the contents of a backup file.

    Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your response.  Even if I know how to change on a device that provides the option, or CP is not forced, I ask if there is a specific setting on a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) that could be changed in the policy so that it does not the media in CP policy.

Once again, thank you for the reply.  If all goes well, an engineer who knows BES 5 and CP will help.  I'm desperate.

  • Problem blackBerry Smartphones disabling protection settings on BB BOLD 9700 after creating a corporate Email account

    Hello

I have a problem to restore the factory setting for my blackberry.

I followed the instructions from KB18988 and it worked for everything, but the security settings.

Actually, my phone is still blocked by a password, and I can't remove password options as it is marked with a locked door icon.

Some applications like facebook, have limited features and some does not at all, as KOBO.

This "unremovable security settings" came when I activated my business account through the Blackberry Desktop Software.

Now, I don't want to go back and remove it.

    I already tried several options:

    KB18988

    Application safe clean (wipe)

Get off at the first version of the firmware

    Reinstall the desktop software

Still my phone is locked. I plan to sell to buy a torch, but I can't sell it as it is.

In fact, I tried from another computer than the one that I have synced my business account of.

Any suggestions? Please help, thanks in advance.

    -J' started the apploader administrator

-When I invited intentionally wrong entered password until she began to wipe.

-J' noticed that the deletion process was different and run ywice this time

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I recover my blackberry protect data backup on a Mac?

My blackberry 9360 a curve was stolen a few days ago, I never it synced with my computer but I still saved on blackberry protect and I can access my data if I go to protect.blackberry.com and login with my blackberry ID. I see that my backup files exist but I can't download them and I can't get a new blackberry at the moment but I really need all my contacts and phone numbers, is anyway that I could retrieve this information on my macbook?

    Hello

BB Protect backup files are only single use... to restore to a BB device. It has no other use of them. Where the reason for which this BB Protect is a component very well to a good backup, but in no case should be considered to be the only component.

If you can access another BB, even for a short period, you can restore it and then save it on your computer, from which you can get 3rd party applications to extract the local backup data in human readable format. However, I've never heard of these tools for MAC... but also, I don't look for MAC stuff.

If you don't try this (restoration of BB Protect for an another BB), you must be very careful... to refer:

    • KB31489 BlackBerry Protect for BlackBerry smartphones does not display the backup files to restore

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry protect site does not recognize my camera

Afternoon, my blackberry was stolen last night so I went on the blackberry protect site to wipe my data, etc, but the site indicates 'add device '. my camera is not displayed? can someone please? I know that it has been permanently installed on my phone because there always used to tell me that my backup was successful, after having saved and also, it is on my blackberry app world.

The only way to recover data from backup BlackBerry Protect is with a BlackBerry smartphone.  You will need to get another BlackBerry, BlackBerry Protect using your BlackBerry ID login, then download the backup data on your new phone.

    I hope that helps you.

There is no sound wireless problem or a bug.

In fact, the one that your provider tells you is wrong. Your carrier is responsible for the delivery of all services on your device, which is BBID to 100%. As a result, they are also 100% responsible for all official support for all services you pay for. Consider... you don't pay them... and they deliver. Only, they (your operator) have access to their systems to verify what is happening. Only they (your operator) have access to the formal escalation chain so that your problem could receive official assistance from BlackBerry. Please see this "sticky" post, and the son to which it connects, for more useful information to guide you as you go:

I hope that this information will be useful to you.

If you want yet to try to seek a formal support, then your next step would be a full reload of the OS on your device. If you want to try that, then please conduct and first review the backup process discussed via the link below in my sig auto on this post.

Once you have a full backup, then the easiest way is to, on a PC (you can't do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:
