Qosmio F20: Is it possible to record in stereo?

I'm a DJ CD and a lot I would like to save my game on the road with my laptop, the only port is the microphone jack, but it is recorded in mono, is it possible that I could buy an extra adapter to record in stereo sound quality? I would be very grateful for any advice. Thank you very much...

Hello

I'm not a file audio specifications, but you may want to use a 3rd party PCMCIA sound card that supports a stereo recording.
Check the google for similar devices. Maybe you'll find something useful.

  • Qosmio F20: WinDVR black areas during the recording of TV programs

    Hello

It is a problem that has bugged me for some time.

When I record a TV show with the Intervideo WinDVR application on my laptop Toshiba Qosmio F20, I get a black box to the left of the image during playback in Windows Media Player from Intervideo WinDVD my recordings.

It seems WinDVR saves an area located to the left of the real TV-signal, which I find awkward. I live in Norway and we have a PAL WinDVR system is configured to save PAL signals. -At least he says so in the configuration options...

Any suggestions on how to fix this, or on other applications of DVR, better to GPL that get better results than of Intervideo WinDVR and who work with the Qosmio TV tuner?

    Kind regards

    Hello Vegard

  • Qosmio F20 - display problem, driver problem-possible

    Good afternoon

I am in possession of a portable type Qosmio F20, which belongs to a friend. She told me that the screen went all the matrix as so that it was just empty. She claims not to have installed any software or updates recently.

When turned on, the Qosmio logo on black background appears, then it appears a black screen with a lot of white lines vertically downwards. He then referred to the Windows XP logo, but this time with green lines appearing vertically down the screen, a little style of the matrix, I guess! After that, the screen is completely empty and the laptop will recharge itself, or occasionally I hear it start windows.

I can enter in safe mode and discovers everything fine. If I uninstall the driver, it works very well and boots as normal, then invites me for a display driver. As soon as I install the driver that I downloaded from the site Web of Toshiba (NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600) and reboot, the same problem occurs. If I install the driver, and then select do not restart, it's ok. But as soon as I go to display settings and try and change anything, the screen turns off instantly again.

I tried to roll back to an older driver that has been dated to 29/08/2005 v7.8.9.2, but still the same problem.

Can anyone suggest a possible solution for this? Or is there a problem with this I don't know? The operating system is Windows XP Media Center SP2. He worked very well until yesterday morning apparently.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

It's certainly a bad operation of the equipment and I'm sure that the graphics card is defective. The warranty is still valid?

    > Is it possible to download the CD recovery from somewhere or have any other ideas?

Unfortunately, there is no link to download. Please order for money from Toshiba:

    [Recovery disk | https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx]

Or copy of windows disk and do a custom installation. All drivers and utilities can be found here:

    Hello

    Please check the BIOS!

You can enter the BIOS by pressing ESC and F1.
The CD/DVD drive must be in the BIOS.

If it s not the case, then that would mean that the CD/DVD drive cannot be recognized by BIOS and possibly it s faulty.

  • Qosmio F20 won't start - power light flashes orange

My Qosmio F20-149 crashed yesterday and I was not able to get it working again. When I try to turn it on, the power light flashes on and outside (on: 1 sec, off: 1 sec) and the cooler fan operates at full power. When I press a key, there is a genre or a sound error. otherwise no reaction of the laptop; even the CD player does not open.

I did no RAM-implementation to date, and I use the original power supply Toshiba. I tried from the laptop using only the battery, only power and on both. No change in the reaction. I tried all possible combinations (with a free one, both... etc) of my two cards, RAM (512 + 512) and still no use.

    I am really puzzled.

If I understand you just your laptop sends a blink code. Copy the following code appears so laptop has detected a problem with the electronic power supply.
In this case, there is nothing that you can do and the laptop must be sent to the service provider allowed the closest.

They have manuals containing instructions and the exact description of the code how do I solve this problem.
Sorry, buddy, but I do not think that anyone here can offer an accurate diagnosis for that matter.

  • Qosmio F20: How to add a second HDD

Hi all, my first post, so be nice!

I recently bought a new Qosmio F20 with unique 60 gig HD. I realize now after a month, I need much more space, it will add a second 120 GIG HD. My question is, is this easy to do? How can I do? Is there a couple of screws to undo and just pop in? Also is there a certain type of HD necessary?

Sorry for the questions of basic but this is my first laptop.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

As far as I know that it is not possible to use two hard disks on F notebook series as on G series, delivered with two hard drives. In my opinion that the best solution is to use external USB connected HDD. On this way, you can use notebook HARD drive 2.5 in aluminum case.

Google a bit and you will find many of them with a different ability. I use a 60 GB external HDD back up all my data.

I intend to purchase a qosmio f20-111 in Sweden. It comes with Windows XP Home Edition. I wonder if I have to choose my Windows XP Home Edition English instead of Swedish language, through implementation of process? Or do I need to buy another Windows XP Home in English and charge it from the beginning, if possible of course?

I put t really understand why you have these big problems with the installation of the driver.
The installation instructions document was placed on the European driver Toshiba page!

Simply download all the drivers and install this, in the right order.

    Hello MrG

I was very interested about your previous assignment and I have to say I wonder what you do with your Qosmios when questions still outstanding.

In any case, I know the start if the BIOS supports booting from PCMCIA, maybe it will work, but I guess on your Qosmio, it is not possible.

Can you please give me more info on the operating system installed on the external HARD drive? It is the same image as on F20 or some other HDD portable?

  • TV tuner for Hong Kong/China on Qosmio F20-104

    Hello

I'm about to make my payment for a model Qosmio F20-104 of the United Kingdom. However, I read in this forum about the incompatibility of the TV tuner through different countries.

As I will use my model largely in China & Hong Kong, which also adopt the same standard PAL B than the United Kingdom, does that mean that I will be able to watch television from Hong KONG/China or not? Is the problem related to the edition of Windows Media Center and could be fixed?

Any sound feedback will be greatly appreciated.

    Felix

    Hello

As far as I know the devices installed with Microsoft Windows Edition Media Center TV functionality does not work outside the United Kingdom.
    Supply the following reasons:

The TV Tuner is specific to the country in which the notebook is purchased. This is evident in the case of the PAL (European standard) versus NTSC (North American standard), but also includes deviations to the PAL standard that can be found in all of these countries that use it for their television shows.

The Microsoft Windows Edition Media Center operating system is only configured for use in the country in which the laptop was purchased. This configuration corresponds to functions such as obtaining the electronic Program Guide through the Internet.

In my opinion it's not possible to watch television from Hong KONG/China :(

    Good bye

  • Qosmio F20 cannot read CD copy

I need help with this problem > why this CD-ROM on Qosmio F20-138 cannot read any CD copy? Orginal CD is readable.
Is this the CD or driver problem?

This ability of problem because Windows XP default CD burning
Try disabling default CD Burning capability
If you have a good CD burning software, you can turn off the CD burning feature. There are two ways to do this:

    REGISTER METHOD:
In regedit, go to [ntVersion ntVersion\Policies\Explorer] and look for the key "NoCDBurning". Maybe you find there if this is your first time. In this case, create a new DWORD "NoCDBurning" key and set its value to turn it off.

    ANOTHER METHOD:
Go to your windows Explorer and locate the drive corresponding to the CD - RW drive. Right-click on it and select Properties. In the Properties window, go to the recording tab and you will see and option called "enable CD writing on this drive". If it is selected, deselect it.
