  I have a strange problem...
  I install win XP MCE on my qosmio F20-111 and all work fine.
  TV Tuner work verry good, list all the chanel and all the work.
  But after the first reboot when I try again Live TV in Media Center, I received the message "bad TV tuner work or do not present, try to restart.

  I try everything, but it still does not work.
  When I use the system restore, it works until I reboot again. Once again, I get this message.

  Any ideas? Please...

  You should check if after the next reboot the TV tuner is properly recognized in Device Manager.
  If this is not the case, then visit the European driver Toshiba page and you must reinstall (update) the TV tuner driver.
  Maybe it's the key to the solution ;)

  Hi recently my Qosmio F20 - 136 uses more power that it... as if it is plugged into the wall with no battery it starts and run out of power and also cut when the battery is in and it is connected to the battery slowly undertakes and stop eventually. Can I do to solve this problem?

  I guess something is wrong with the electronics of power supply. Battery peut t be loaded correctly. Well, in my opinion the only way to solve this problem is to contact Toshiba service.

• Equium A100 and WXP - missing drivers for multiple devices

  I have a satellite A100 - 02L and has recently had a virus which means re install the OS that is Vista 32 bit. I had problems with my product recovery disk and decided to install XP. Now XP is installed, but I can not lanuch the browser. Looked in Device Manager and there are question marks on the tab other devices which are:

  Ethernet controller
  Mass storaage controller
  Network controller
  PCI device
  SM Bus controller
  Video controller

  It has not installed.

  Can anyone help please.

  I have a Qosmio F20-136 with about 60 GB hard drive, I see that new models now have more than 200 to 320 GB of HDD.

  Does anyone know what updates are available for the hard drive for my machine, because I want to increase the size.

  You will have no problem with 120 GB.
  The problem is that you won't find a Toshiba official information on the size of HARD drive compatibility.
  You must test several sizes. In any case, for now I didn t find any laptop computers with a single internal 320 GB HDD and as mentioned by James s not sure what the BIOS does not support this large size of HARD drive.
  So if you want to use a HDD larger than 120HDD you should test it before you buy

• Qosmio F20-136: Question about upgrade memory

  I purchased a Qosmio F20-136 with 512 MB of on-board RAM, but wanted to update, so bought additional 512 MB RAM (DDR2) for a total of 1024 RAM.

  I said global PC sales guy I wanted only if the laptop has two slots.

  I took the cap of the other week and only 1 slot is visible to the naked eye.

  I do not go any further.

  Does anyone know if there are two slots or that one meaning that I have to buy a bar of 1 GB DDR2?

  The Qosmio support two memory locations, and it should be possible to use 2 sticks of memory. You can upgrade the memory for max 2048 MB (2x1024Mo).
  The locations of memory, you will find at the bottom of the unit. To remove the small cover that secures the slot. Also see the user manual. You should also find a detail.

  DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)

  I have a Qosmio F20-136 with media Center, but due to the fact that I lose permanently the TV signal on digital channels, I was going to try free software GB - PVR tuner that I tired trying to use Media Digital Center. I have a perfect antenna signal that crosses a digibox on my main TV together but not satisfied with the Qosmio tuner.

  Someone else used the alternative free GB - PVR software successfully?

  Since a few days, I also F20 and I have no problem with the TV signal. I tested it with cable and satellite receiver. It works fine, but it will be interesting to know if there is something new that can be put to the test.

  What you think of GB-PVRI put t know if it supports the TV on Qosmio F20 tuner.

  When I record a TV for about 30mins long, it takes a lot of space of hard disk even when am low quality recording. I use Windows MCE to record.

• Card memory on a Qosmio F20 failure

  I have the qosmio f20-136 with built in card reader. I use a sony memory stick pro duo with adapter but my laptop seems no more read. He has worked in the past, seems to do it on my other card aswell.

  I really put t believe Toshiba has tested this slots with adapters with the supported cards.

  If you can not read other cards as well try to restore the system to an earlier time using System Restore utility. In this way it is not possible to give a precise answer because who knows what did you and try with your unit and this adapter (maybe installed a driver).

  There is no quick fix for some issues. ;)

  Recently, I reloaded the OS on a Qosmio F20 (PQF20A-00D00C) customers. They have no recovery disks and I have no recovery disks (according to a KB article, I found later - is not that I remember all these menu items).

  I'm looking for drivers for such a portable but the Toshiba site has only drivers for LAN, WLAN and bluetooth. I do not see for audio, vga, chipset, etc.

  Any idea where I can find these drivers for XP MCE (Pro)?

  I don't have time to check it all, but I think all the drivers for WXP MCE should be available on the download page of Toshiba under http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/

  You can also try to find missing drivers on Toshiba European page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp (product type > Archive). I guess that there is not much difference between the Australians and Europeans Qosmio F20.

  Try to find the drivers, that you can use with WXP MCE.

  In Device Manager, no defined devices are 1 - 2 - "Video controller (VGA Compatible)" and "Multimedia video controller".

  And also, the blue key on the keyboard does not (KEY FN)

  I put t really understand why you have these big problems with the installation of the driver.
  The installation instructions document was placed on the European driver Toshiba page!
  This txt file describes how to install the drivers and the drivers are needed.

  Simply download all the drivers and install this, in the right order.

  That s all and in my opinion that s enough!

  I have an almost 5 year old toshiba Qosmio F20-153, which has developed an error with the Windows message root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe file is missing.
  I wonder if it's fixable without completely re - install the complete operating system that I still have the Toshiba restore disk.

  In my view, your only option is recovering the entire notebook. The Toshiba Recovery disk only contains an image of factory settings, which means that you can t install this single file of this disc.
  In addition it s a good idea to reinstall Windows from time to time. If your installation is already 5 years old, you should do this. You will be surprised with the speed of your laptop is after that. :)

  Use the recovery disk is quite simple: you must boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen. You do a few clicks only and that s it!

• Qosmio F20 with Vista RTM

  I managed to install Windows Vista RTM on my Qosmio F20-155 aircraft. The installation went smoothly and all is well.

  I have the following problems, which I assume are common with everyone:
  -No SD card support
  -Waiting for new drivers from nVidia card
  -Fn keys and multimedia keys do not work

  However, something that I'm not sure that everyone knows is this lack of sound support. Vista acknowledged that the sound card is "SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio". However, I hear any sound on my speakers. I tried to force another driver (the Tecra,) found on the support site, but Vista would fire a BSOD and die. I don't know that there is nothing wrong with my laptop because the Qosmio player can produce sound normally (from Windows to the outside).

  Anyone with the same problem? And don't you think the RTM drivers are going to be late?
