Qosmio F60 and Windows XP

Hello

I need to know if I can delete win 7 and install Windows XP on my Qosmio F60
I am a student online and the software is not compatible with win 7 and IE8
I need at least of the video, network and WIFI win XP drivers ASAP

Thank you very much

Maybe your University must understand that time WXP disappeared and more people use Win7 or Vista.

In any case, I just hope that you created the recovery DVDs using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. This DVD you can use later to install Win7. Be careful about this. If you install own OS like Vista or Windows XP Home edition, you will lose this option.

Back to your question: Qosmio F60 is newer model laptop with supported Win7 only. For now WXP drivers are not available.

    Hello Alastair

Why make this stupid mistake to hundreds of other owners of laptop?
It makes sense to check support first and ensure that certain operating system is supported and then installed clean OS. Isn t it?

Qosmio F60 is portable newest and even not available everywhere in the world, so you must be careful with the support in his favor. The drivers will be offered soon or later, but it may take some time.
    What to do now?

Return to factory settings or try using some drivers for other models Qosmio with a similar hardware configuration. Try with X 500. It is certainly supported for Win7 x 64. Maybe Toshiba tools and utilities can be installed on your F60.

Play a little with it. Nothing can now goes wrong.

  • Qosmio G20 and Windows 7

    Hello

I have an old Qosmio G20-115 that uses the RAID controller for two hard disks. I tried to install Windows 7 (RC1) and Windows Vista, but I'm still stuck at time of installation of Windows, detect hard drives. After reading the various reports from this forum and others sources on the web, I tried many times to get setup to detect the discs using drivers from various different sources, but nothing helped.

Is there something more fundamental, that I hurt myself? What RAID parameters need to be defined in the BIOS when trying to install an OS? If someone managed to get Windows 7 (RC1) working on their G20? Someone at - it pilots have tested and they managed to get Vista/Windows 7 on their G20-115 s?

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

When installing Win7, you must have the RAID driver on a floppy disk or USB key. Win7 Setup prompts you for a custom storage driver.

You can get the RAID for Vista driver on the Toshiba site. It should work in win7.

  • Qosmio F60 and Seagate Momentus XT problem

    Hello!

I need help to solve a problem.
I tried to change the hard drive of my Qosmio F60 for a Seagate momentus XT (hybrid SSD). I have even if it was simple

First of all, my new HARD drive was not recognized in the BIOS. So I put a rider to force the SATA 1 mode on the hard drive.
Now, it appaears on the configuration of the bios.

With the recovery media creator, I created a USB boot drive.
So I plug in the USB, I turn on the computer, launch of media recovery, he creates the partition, copy files, everything is ok, but when it restarts, it wrote to insert a system disk...

Why am I wrong, is there a problem using this HARD drive?
I said that is usb, the same hard drive works perfectly.
Is there something to do with the Bios?
I don't have the update, but my version is since September 2010, I think.

Thank you very much for your answers.

    Hello

Not sure if the SATA option is available in the Qosmio F60 BIOS but some BIOS on Toshiba laptops supports this option. In this case, you could switch between the AHCI and compatibility mode.
But the Toshiba recovery image already contains the SATA drivers, so the system should work with AHCI mode or compatible, too.

    > but when it restarts, it wrote to insert a system disk...
Are you sure that the laptop start on internal SSD where the operating system has been installed?
To me it looks a little more the laptop would not boot from that disk SSD.
Disconnect the USB, by default, the BIOS flash drive and try to boot again

1st edition Chicony Camera Assistant does not work cannot load the web camera drivers.

2nd edition Toshiba graphic library does not work error gets DB connection failed.

    Any help is appreciated.

    > but the Australian model must use slightly different material than the Euro and the United States.
The PQG55E series is very similar to the Australian series PQG55A.
It s the same Chicony webcam module and the driver isn't different.

    > 2nd edition Toshiba graphic library does not work error gets DB connection failed.
This software allows you to view a list of all files and subfolders in a specified folder, videos of index and read files. Usually this requires the installation of other software such as TOSHIBA HD Console as well as the TOSHIBA Quad Core HD processor driver

These drivers are also from this page of the G50 driver:

  • Qosmio F50 and Windows 7 drivers

    Hello

    (1) it seems that Toshiba has released a few drivers, but my question is that to install and which is not necessary?

For example by Pioneer Firmware update, what?

    (2) also, I noticed that there are many drivers Vista (approximately 100) but the Win7 version are much less (about 26) and therefore is that all?

    Thank you

I checked the list of available drivers for your model laptop and in my opinion you should install all except for optical drive firmware.
When everything is installed, observe the features of optical disc drive and let us know if you have noticed a few problems.

Although pilots obviously much more useful are already integrated in Win7 and must not be installed also. This must be the reason why Toshiba offers less drivers.

I recently acquired a new Qosmio F60 and a new port replicator Dynadock U. problem, but it will not start upward unless I disconnect the Dynadock by unplugging the USB cable from the laptop. Hello

As you can see that there is no special driver to win 8 BOF series Qosmio F60.
    This isn't win 8 supported.
However, I think that you should be able to use the upgrade drivers to win 8 published for Qosmio F750.
    Try it.

Recommend that you install the driver for the touchpad (from Synaptics), the utility of the feature key Toshiba value added package and system of Toshiba driver

  • Qosmio F60 - cannot start Win7 on 16 GB of RAM

    Hello

I have recently brought a second hand Qosmio F60 and installed 2 modules KVR1333d3s9 / 8g, after updating the BIOS, the Bios report 16GB.

I can start and run Linux which also reported 16 Gig as soon as I boot Windows, the screen turns off and stops after the "Starting Windows" screen. The same thing happens when I try a Windows 7 installation disc.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

As much I know Qosmio F60 only is not supported for 16 GB of RAM. According to certain specifications max supported RAM is 8GB so I put t know if there is a magic trick to make it work.

Let's see if some F60 owner has tried the same thing.

  • Qosmio F60 - Toshiba updates causing the blue screen (BSOD)

    Hello

I applied updates based on the recommendations of the Toshiba Service Center app on my F60 and now it starts with windows and then displays the BSOD. Updates have been a nVidia display driver and an update of the BIOS, published on 11/10/2010.

I did a windows 7 system restore but problem still occurring. Managed to get to a command prompt, so I can back up my files at least.

Someone else had this problem? You fear that the updates may have fried the equipment? Advice on how to solve this problem before you do a restore system with my Toshiba recovery disks?

    Hey,.

    > I did a restore of windows 7
What kind of system restore do you exactly? To restore to an earlier point or a new complete installation of Windows 7 using the Toshiba Recovery disk?

You can also start your laptop in safe mode?

I also made the new updates my Qosmio F60 and everything works fine. I can t view this problem.

In the worst case you must reinstall Windows again recovery disk. It seems that something has confused the Windows registry can therefore start t.

  • Re: Qosmio F60 - 14 days: Win 2003 Server Enterprise Edition 32 bit installation

We have sub notebook and need to install the W2003Server Enterprise Edition 32-bit operating system.
Have someone handy and software for this action?

    Hello

Operating system of the server on a laptop?

May I ask why you want to do this? I don't see a reason for this and portable isn't designed for server systems.

In addition, Windows 2003 Server is based on Windows XP and Qosmio F60 and XP no driver available is. It supports Windows 7 only
Therefore, search all the drivers yourself on external pages if you really want to do this.

  • SSD for a Qosmio F60

Hello, I have a Qosmio F60, and I want to change the standard sata HD for one SSD. Is this possible? Should what kind of specs of SSD I look for?

Thank you for your help advabce

SSD upgrade is possible, but I assume new SSD will not work at maximum speed. It isn't so bad because the SSDS work faster mach and you'll notice more performance gain.

I updated my old P500 with SSD and I'm happy with it.
More info on SSD, you can find on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html, but of course do not SSD Toshiba. You can also check other manufacturers, compare prices and choose the one that suits.
