Qosmio G30-161 does not start - NTDLR "file is missing

Hi all

I have a G30-161 double HDD (in Raid 1) which no longer starts...
He just gives the message "file NTDLR is missing" and is followed by a prompt to restart the computer in which the same error will appear again.

I got this laptop for my son to fix (lucky me :(!)

Things, I've looked at so far:

-Check the BIOS to see if the disks are configured properly - BIOS indicates the two hard drives installed, online and in RAID 1
-J' had an installation of Windows XP by hand disc then tried to see if it would boot from a CD. He started on the CD ok, but the process Windows Recovery Console/install said he couldn't find any hard drives. Find an Acronis True Image boot disk (using linux I think), once again the started program end, but don't have it no hard drives installed.
- So with no HD not reports I took one for a test. With disk 2 removed, in an attempt to start the system reports "RAID 1 is GRADIENT" then follows with "NTDLR file is missing. So this tells me that SW RAID working probably and he knows that a HD has been removed.
All the patches I've read on the PC forums involve the use of the XP Recovery CD or some, but it won't work because the system thinks there are no disc when it starts. We have no ' have a Toshiba Recovery disk for the machine.

Someone at - he saw the problem above, knows a fix?
Can I purchase a G30-161 recovery CD anywhere?

Any help appreciated. ...

Thank you
Steve

There is only one disk c it but not the other hard drive. I need to change the settings of smoke to see the 2nd hard drive?

    Hello

Well, the Qosmio G30-161 should be delivered with two hard drives of 60 GB.
I guess you can see a single HARD disk due to the RAID settings.
    The unit supports RAID technology.
I think that the RAID is on the mirror. This means that the data is duplicated on both disks.
Generally, it should be possible to disable the RAID.
    Check the folder utilities Toshiba.

PS: It is possible that you will lose data after changing the RAID settings. Be careful.

    Hello

The failure of RAM could be the reason for this behavior of the laptop.
Remove the RAM modules with good modules tested and check the functionality of the laptop.
In the case of RAM isn t the troublemaker, the motherboard could be affected.

    Hello

You see the Toshiba BIOS screen after turning on the laptop?
    You can access the BIOS?

If you see something on the screen and access the BIOS, I would recommend load default settings here.

But, generally speaking, for the moment, it is difficult to say why this happens, so you should test step by step.

  • Windows XP does not start due to a missing or damaged file.

When I turn on my laptop, I get this message:

Windows didn't start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can try to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD.  Select 'r' in the first screen to start repair.

I bought this computer and has not received any documentation or the drive with him.  How can I me things in the market again?  Or how can I get my files on the HARD disk without losing any data?  Nothing works without some sort of operating system, so I can't start a CD or go on the internet with it or anything else.  Someone suggested to remove the HARD disk and connecting it to another computer via a USB cable.  I tried that but didn't have any instructions very thoroughly how to do and not to do anything.  What can I do?

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk on your hard drives may solve your problem completely.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the command prompt.

Start by checking the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I decided to implement the points for a new puppy instead of a pony!

    Hello Harry

HARD drive recovery image is screwed up and you will not be able to start over. Only way to install the Toshiba recovery image is to use the recovery DVDs. You have created a following Toshiba Recovery reminder?

Here is the original post of callback:

    + Important INFORMATION +.

+ Your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need repair your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do so directly from the hard disk (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer" and follow the instructions in the menu) or create a media drive bootable recovery to that end. +.

  • Qosmio G20-114 does not start

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G20-114 that no longer starts. No display.

It turns on, the fan starts and you can hear the movement of HARD drive, but there is no display (not even if I plug in an external monitor).

It was Windows XP. All of a sudden stopped working for no apparent warning, no blue screen or the warning signs.

When I turn on the laptop I get a few lights on the keyboard space. (The light above the icon of TV, two lights and the light above the icon for media player, the power button just below the arrows)

I was surfing the internet all day for a solution and tried most of the workarounds proposed, for example; Take the battery and the charger out, leave for 10 minutes and then only replace the charger and try to switch on. Also; Remove a strip of RAM (and trade) and remove all the RAM. Still no luck, however.

I had an internal beep of her, but only once, it was 3 Quick beeps. Nothing since.

I'm willing to try any suggestion, although I like to keep the files on the HARD drive because of family photos and which do not.

    All suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    A frustrated user of Toshiba.

    AW_1

I think your problem is not how to save data to the HARD drive. You can remove the HARD drive and connect it to the other laptop using the 2.5 external HARD drive enclosure.
HARD drive will be recognized as external device and you should have full access to all stored data.
    Do this if possible.

On this virtual path it is not possible to provide an accurate diagnosis and to say with certainty what can be the problem, but I assume that the LCD is maybe defective.

Start your laptop and wait a while. Connect your laptop to an external device, and then try to use the FN + F5 key combination. Just to see if you will be able to switch between mode of laptops LCD and external monitor.

    Hi Gang

I hope that there is some good buddies out there that can save a window double glazing to be mullared by that lappy.
I had (Qosmio G40-108 with 4 GB of RAM) since August 2007. Everything was fine until two weeks about where it kept crashing during the execution of a couple normal progs that I use.
After reading several messages from buddies with similar problems, I think it might be the PCI express graphics. Is this good? I can swap out? Or advice, blaggs, ideas or suggestions are very welcome. :)

    What exactly happens?
Your Qosmio freezes simply and you must turn off or switches off without any warning messages?

  • Qosmio G35-AV650 does not start after format

Okay, so I downgraded/upgraded my computer back to XP from 7 a month ago.
Yesterday, I went to the library for all my updates and whatnot that I neglected since the upgrade. When I turned on the computer in the library, it would not be loaded the office correctly and an error box open stating that it was impossible to recover the THotkey. It turns out that my feature key drivers took a dive. I've done everything I can to solve the problem. Nothing worked, I decided to reformat.

Early upward the dinosaur this afternoon when the format is finally finished, it would not fully boot screen where you are asked which language you want to use, what time format, all of these bases. I tried to reboot several times, finally tried safe mode, even to reformat again, nothing works.

Now, seeing as I was only reformat to XP in order to enter my card default sound drivers to see if they would work on 7 (the company that made my card was bought shortly before 7 was released and that they still need to make new drivers), I decided to say screw that it and any format the computer back to 7. When it loads everything from disk (disk? drive?), it goes to the screen asking what disk I want to install, it says that I have no disks on which I can install it.

I came across this problem before, the first time that I put 7 on the computer. Since I have two hard drives, it needs the RAID drivers that connect the two. I downloaded several different, all for Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV650 RAID drivers, but it detects all the drivers. The way I do it is to put on a flash drive and tell the computer to get them from there. I do everything the same way I did before, but nothing works at all. I tried to go into the BIOS settings, but I have no idea what I could do.

I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure out what I can do here, but I'm completely lost. Any ideas?

You use a generic Windows 7 disk? Or a Toshiba Win7 upgrade disk?

Basically, you need the drivers SATA F6 (INFs) on a USB Flash drive during the installation of Win7. The version of Vista should work fine in Win7.

You can change the RAID settings in the BIOS to "JBOD". First, make sure you back up important data.

  • After 1 GB memory upgrade Qosmio G10 - 133 does not start

    Try to pass 512 MB with memory Kingston KTT3311 / 1 G 1512 MB

I put the new Kingston 1 GB in the top slot of spare. When I rebooted the machine, the fan has come and the indicator light on the front came. But it seemed no not no start-up process at all and the screen remains blank. After a while the fan is stopped and the machine went into 'stop' mode I tried once more with the same result.

I then pulled out the new 1 GB Kingston memory, leaving the memory of old as he was, and the reboot of the machine as usual with no message or error. I thought that the machine would automatically pick up the memory of mew and reconfigure itself.

Any ideas on what could be wrong.

Yes, the laptop and the BIOS should automatically pickup the new module of memory installed. Try to enter the BIOS and check if the module has been recognized and safe the BIOS settings.

But perhaps you are using a bad?

I think you should try the recommended Toshiba the memory module. In this case, you can be sure that it will work, and you are on the safe side to 100%.

    I found these PC2700 DDR - RAM compatible modules;
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

    Hello

Something is happening with my Qosmio G20.
Sometimes when I connect the plug to the computer the DC IN indicator flashes orange and the pc does not start.
A few hours later I try again and now DC IN indicator shows blue and I can boot my pc and I normally work for hours.
It's very strange. It happens regularly. A few days shows blue and works very well and some other orange flashes of days and I can't work and I have to keep trying to connect and disconnect until it flashes blue to put on.

Wouldn't be DC Power Charger malfunction? I've already ordered another of DC power charger to confirm, but my intuition says that is not the problem of the charger.
I remember the 1st time that never happen... I was charging my iPod through my Qosmio and out of the House and let it load it. When I arrived home, the laptop power light flashes orange and I thought it was in hibernation mode. But after that time it started to happen.
Before trying the new charger and reflections before sending it to the dealer?
