Configuration updates stuck on step 3 0f 3-34% full.

Try to make a fairly significant update for Vista - I think I had about 24 updates total.  For the last two hours, although it is stuck at 34%.  I'm not sure what to do, either wait it out or try to reboot/restore to an earlier point.  I also searched and did not find any similar problem (this is not the same as restarting without end about 0%).  I'm starting to think that it will never go beyond this point.  Any input or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

  • Stuck at step 2 updated configuration

I have vista home prem 64 bit, it was automatic updates and did last night, I don't know what he was trying to load.  He is stuck at step 2 of 3 Configuration of updates, it says 100% full and do not turn off your computer.  It has been like this since at least 6-7 hours last night.

    What to do?

    Hi Randy,

It's been a while, we can think that the update is stuck and will not continue any further.  You can press Ctrl, Alt & Del and open Task Manager.  You should see the update on the Application tab, and you can select it and press end task.

Click on the start ORB > Control Panel > programs and features, on the left, select view installed updates and see if the update that was being Setup finished installing.  If it does not have and does not appear on the list, you can restart your computer and try to install the update mode without failure.

To do this, restart your pc and even if your pc is booting press the key F8 on your keyboard to enter the Advanced Boot Options menu.  On the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Safe Mode and press ENTER.

Your computer will boot mode safe by using only the basic drivers and services, hopefully allowing Windows Update to complete the installation of the update, you are having problems with.

    Hey Janeynflorida

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

  • Last update of Vista stuck in step 3/restart loop

I have Vista Business system on a Toshiba laptop, latest Service Pack and with all updates.  He was fully functional when I finally stopped him.  I started just to step 3 to find the page: an update of Windows.  0% indicated progress, then it restarts and opens to the same page again.  Stuck in this loop.  Have tried using F8 to get the last proper installation and prevent automatic reboot, without success, it just keeps returning to the page step 3 and restarts.  Tried to repair systems which offered a system restore, but that wouldn't start.  Repair of the system now just continues to show progress (for 3/4 of an hour) without HD activity.  I stopped him and it still restarts at the same stadium page 3.
