Qosmio G30 - motherboard fried again

After 9 months, the motherboard is dead, still under warranty so succeeded him.

Now, another 9 months, is no longer in warranty it is dead again.

Is there an any hope of little assistance from Toshiba?

Hello

That s a sad story :(

But I think that the Toshiba ASP in your country should be able to help

If you have a hardware problem with your laptop, you should always contact the local authorized service partner Toshiba.
Explain the history guys and ask for later handling.

Unfortunately, but that's all I can suggest

Good luck

  • Qosmio G30 pink pixels on the screen - what can I try next?

I have a qosmio G30 on the white parts of the screen were pink pixel in them as well as purple pink pixels around parts.

In reading the various posts, I have eliminated the graphics chip/card that I can get a perfect image on an external display. The laptop is out of warranty and also out of the extra year for graphics problems, so I tried to fix it myself. I tried all of the solutions below and none have worked.

I wonder if anyone could give me any other things to try.

I've updated the BIOS and the display driver - no change.
I then replaced the motherboard to the LCD connection with a new cable - no change.

And finally, I have replaced the LCD screen with a new - again no change.

-Always works fine on an external monitor.

Any ideas or suggestions would be very appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I think you're talking about dead pixels.
    Would this be possible?

The problem of dead pixels has nothing to do with the graphics card but it s a display problem.
So I was wondering why this problem persists after the LCD has been replaced

Maybe a Toshiba laptop technician should verify and test parts of the hardware to make sure what part could be the problem exactly

  • Qosmio G30 - 10F - need mainboard partnumber

    Hello

I need to reference my motherboard, because it is defective and I want to replace the motherboard.
and my dealer wants the right partnumber to find the right spare parts.

But I can't find the reference to the Board of Directors, one and only one i found is:
    + A5A001964 / 030 A0 / C074AGOT +.
    + Model: Qosmio G30-10 +.
    + PQG32E-03903NGR +.
    + S/N: 47816895 +.

And my dealer said, the partnumber resembles this example: P000462640

    Thank you

As far as I know Toshiba service partner has this info. They have access to Toshiba of database and that you can check this. As much as I know that Toshiba has offered two platforms for the Qosmio G30, so it is very important for you to get the motherboard for PQG32E.

I mean if you have this number, you can order only and you don't need some special shopping.
Try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
It's really not easy to help you with this.

And Yes. Part number is something like K000xxxx.

  • Qosmio G30 (PQG31) - problem with cloned hard drives

    Hi all!

    * Qosmio G30-154 * (* PQG31 *).

Demo of the Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE (32 bit) installed on the primary.
    The RAID parameters are JBOD.
    BIOS is "newer" 3.90

I would try to upgrade the drives (without installing any OS) and... have a problem!
BSOD "Stop 0x0000007B" after 'clone with resizing' for the main HARD disk.

I read on [drivers Toshiba RAID | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=48489] also [how to integrate the AHCI driver when installing Windows XP | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm] and (or)

F6 (for all usb drivers) is not available to boot OS, sorry.

"cloned" drive is in line with the correct name of made in the BIOS. "Cloned" secondary drive works (with old primary school). How to get access to the new primary OS and loading cloned? Please, any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think that the system cannot boot to the new HARD disk as the partition where the system is installed, was not marked as bootable system partition.

I recommend to insert the previous HARD drive and to start the laptop.
HARD drive new, cloned could be connected as an external HARD drive to a USB port.

Then you should go to disk management (right click my computer - manage-> management-> disk management computer)
Here you can see the HARD internal disk and the 2nd HARD drive connected to the USB port
Right-click on the partition (2nd HARD drive) where the Win XP has been installed and choose the partition as the system partition and mark it as active.

Then you could change the HARD drive again and could power the device in place. Usually, the system should boot to the top of the new marked system partition.

  • Qosmio G30-204 starts with BSOD

    Hello

I have a toshiba Qosmio G30-204. It crashed last Friday night, I tried everything since then, including the system recovery disk, nothing seems too much work between the blue screen and a matrix effect in the back round (broken lines going down the screen) so that I erased two hard drives. Nothing seems to work, also tried safe mode and boot into normal windows.

In the course of the process, I came across a message, if an additional disk came with it! to put it in now. A single disc that I can remember. Any help would be much appreciated, because I now get only a blue screen with the stop 0xoooooo7E (followed by other numbers)

    Thank you once again, Marty

    I got the message?
You aren't able to recovery of the laptop using the recovery disk?

    Hmm looks like hardware problem
The described broken lines going down the screen resembles a graphics card problem
What happens if you turn on the device and go to the BIOS?
    The BSOD is always appear?

    > one last thing my qosmio I NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 256 MB, but I don't know if it is possible to change or not. If possible, what video card will be the best?

No, the graphics card can not be upgraded

What you can do, it is memory and the upgrade of the HARD drive. This should be very easy and should cause no serious problems.

    Upgrading CPU is little tricky.

  • Qosmio G30 - software very slow loading

I have a Qosmio G30 P650 unit and had since 2009. Two weeks only noticed during the bars running under the windows xp loading Win Xp logo slows down and it takes a long time to load windows. He had no other choice but to re - install the software using the recovery CD.

However, I found that in a first time, the device works well after the resumption, but after turning off and leave for a while and turn it on again a few hours later it's the same thing. The software is loading very slowly. But in safe mode, it's fast.

What is a hard drive problem? There was a time after that reloading the recovery software (even clear partitions), the software will load more slowly. Sometimes after recovery, it is normal but after reboot, the problem repeats.

Can someone tell me what could be wrong with this laptop?

    Thank you very much

    > Is this a hard drive problem?
    Perhaps.

Must test the HARD drive for errors possible there are many diagnostic tools that could test the HARD drive.
For example: HDD Regenerator 2011, SMARTReporter 3.0.4 or the freeware software called Drive Fitness Test.

  • How do I know if Qosmio G30-198 is compatible with win 7 64 bit?

How will I know if my old Qosmio G30-198 is compatible with win 7 64 bit? I think that there are some not compatible microprocessors.

    Thank you

    Hello

    As I m not wrong, G30-198 supports the Intel® Core 2 Duo T7200 processor

According to the Intel page http://ark.intel.com/products/27255/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T7200 this processor supports 64-bit architecture
So you shouldn't have trouble to install a 64-bit system

  • Qosmio G30 PQG32E - Bootmanager missing

I'm running a Qosmio G30 PQG32E - a wonderful machine and I'm still waiting for Toshiba to bring out a new model with the same resolution.

Vista has been installed at the origin of a Raid configuration.
This was later changed to Windows XP and the disks in JBOD.
    Everything worked well.

My son has improved the Win7 Professional machine - always very well.
I took the machine back and installed Kubuntu with the original Vista recovery disc - still very well.
During the year a lot of unnecessary baggage accumulated - also in the registry.
I checked the score with TestDisk and found a myriad of old OS - including Vista. So, I did a clean install to clean both discs using DBan.

I have reinstalled Kubuntu on disk2 intending to install Win7 on disk1.
Win7 informs me that there is no hard drive - it find external USB drives but not the internal.
Vista goes in the BSD - probably because the boot.ini is ste for a raid configuration (?).
I reinstalled the MBR - checked it again with Testdisk and it seems ok.

No boot manager! No hard drive in diskpart list disk.
    I did bootrec /fixmbr /fixboot /rebuildbcd - no joy.
The internal hard drive are not and victory starts with C: being a USB key.

What can I do else? I don't want to not really or need windoze could therefore only lkeave, but it puzzles me and maybe someone can point me in another direction.

Yes, I downloaded the latest driver (TC0017000B.exe) raid but cannot run it because it is on USB and when running, it tells me that WBDHD44I.dll is missing.

    > Win7 informs me that there is no hard drive - it find external USB drives but not the internal.
    > Internal hard drive are not and victory starts with C: a USB key.

Looks a bit like a HARD disk failure
The HARD drive is visible in the BIOS?

Check the HARD drive using freeware like Drive Fitness Test tool. The bootable disc would check the fitness of HARD drive and if the HARD drive is faulty, you will get an error.

By the way: the TC0017000B.exe can be decompressed. If you unpack this package, you will get the files WBDHD44I. DLL, WBTOS45I. DLL and sys files.
I recommend you move these package unpacked on USB key to add the RAID driver during the installation of Win 7.

  • Qosmio G30 - recovery disk to unzip files, but nothing happens

I have a Qosmio G30 running Windows XP MCE. Windows has somehow was corrupt and laptop could only be started in safe mode. I backed up all my data but when I run the restore disc, it gets to 100%, but then nothing else happens. It says to eject the disc, but then just restarts automatically and that's all. I can't even open in safe mode now because it indicates that the installation is incomplete and I must rerun the recovery. I tried this but nothing helped.

I'm stuck because now I can not open in safe mode.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you tested what happens with Microsoft XP disc?
In addition, I would try to format the HARD drive first. Therefore, you can use a Microsoft disc to wipe the entire HARD disk. After that try the recovery disk again.

    Check this box!

  • Qosmio G30 - installation of Windows 7

    Hello

I recently installed Windows 7 on my Qosmio G30 (w / HD-DVD). Having noticed that some people have had problems with it, I decided to post my procedure.

My Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE installed on the primary. The RAID settings are 1RAID0 and JBOD. I decided to install Windows 7 on the second disc of HARD to dual boot with XP.

    1. upgrade the BIOS to 3.90
2 put the Toshiba RAID for Vista (version 1.10.0016) drivers on a USB key.
    3. use the Win7 DVD to portable computer startup in the installation program, it's better than the installer of in Windows XP/Vista.
4 load the RAID during the installation drivers to use hard drives (click on "Load driver").
    5. install Win7.
6 install Windows Update and let it download the necessary drivers.

You may need to manually install the drivers for Bluetooth and video Capture card.

The upgrade process went smooth every thing takes less than 2 hours.

Note that the Windows 7 installer does not recursively for the RAID drivers search, you must select the folder holding the KR10N. INF file in the location of the RAID driver.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Hey mate,

Thank you for this very interesting and nice post! :)

XP and Vista runs without problem.

    Hello

I don't see any question in your message, but you probably want to know if Toshiba will offer BIOS updates. I am sure that nobody here can give you a definitive answer but, in my opinion, Qosmio G30 will be not supported with Win7.

The first series of Qosmio G30 is delivered with WXP MCE and later with Vista. Thus, this model of laptop is quite old. I watched how Toshiba treated with old laptops when Vista was on the market again and not over a year of two laptops have been supported. So I think with Win7 will be the same story. All laptops, not more than one year one or one and a half not will be not supported for Win7.
I think in the future that Toshiba does not update the BIOS designed for Win7.

Of course, I wish wrong me about this, but the future will show whether or not it is just my opinion.

    In any case, good luck.

  • Qosmio G30-140 - Console problems on new install XP MCE Raid utility

I just bought a Toshiba Qosmio G30-140 of second hand. It has 2 hard drives and I tried to install windows 7 with great difficulty due to the raid driver... I managed to cmplete installation and travels account that half the utilities would not work in compatibility mode... Solution, I decided to re install the original Windows XP Media Center Edition, as I didn't have the original disks, I had many days of trial and error downloading different versions to work on my system... FINALLY, I GOT THE RIGHT ONE...

    Here's my question:

I want to set up my machine to use the 2 drives in RAID mirror in case of data corruption, although I tried to install the RAID utility using the restore disc, I had created before embarking on this mission - suicidal

IT WILL NOT BE INSTALLED, AND CONTINUES TO GIVE ME THE SAME ERROR OVER AND OVER AGAIN, EVEN IF I AM LOGGED ON ADMINISTRATOR
error message is "("TOSHIBA RAID Service"Service [kraidsvc] could start. Make sure that sufficient privelages to start the services.) »

I'm stuck and tried a lot of combinations, different and re-installed the OS twice, I am an administrator and possess these privelages. HELP :((

    Hi mate

Installing the RAID driver could solve this problem...

Also, I guess you used the right RAID settings in the BIOS.
As far as I know, you can change the RAID option in the BIOS on the last page (3-3)
RAID0 means stripping and RAID1 mirror you want to use.

After changing the RAID parameters, you must confirm this insert the string 1,2,3,4 and enter.

But note; After changing this you will need new OS install

I tried a full system recovery DVD restore, but nothing has changed, even, I installed Windows Vista with all its pilots.
Nothing has changed too, I borrowed a USB IR received for another remote that it worked perfectly with my remote on windows.

Please advise me what to do, should I send it to the service center, or there is an easier solution.

    Hello

    > first of all, I had a problem with VGA, send it for repair, when she comes back, I noticed that the remote does not work on windows Media Center, while that in A / mode V work perfectly.

If you had a problem with the VGA chip then the whole motherboard has been replaced.
Maybe it has something to do with your problem.

Anyway, as far as I know you don t need any special drivers if you want to use the MCE Remote control. For the use of the remote control with Qosmio player you need to connect a USB infrared.
