Qosmio G30-140 - Console problems on new install XP MCE Raid utility

I just bought a Toshiba Qosmio G30-140 of second hand. It has 2 hard drives and I tried to install windows 7 with great difficulty due to the raid driver... I managed to cmplete installation and travels account that half the utilities would not work in compatibility mode... Solution, I decided to re install the original Windows XP Media Center Edition, as I didn't have the original disks, I had many days of trial and error downloading different versions to work on my system... FINALLY, I GOT THE RIGHT ONE...

Here's my question:

I want to set up my machine to use the 2 drives in RAID mirror in case of data corruption, although I tried to install the RAID utility using the restore disc, I had created before embarking on this mission - suicidal

IT WILL NOT BE INSTALLED, AND CONTINUES TO GIVE ME THE SAME ERROR OVER AND OVER AGAIN, EVEN IF I AM LOGGED ON ADMINISTRATOR
error message is "("TOSHIBA RAID Service"Service [kraidsvc] could start. Make sure that sufficient privelages to start the services.) »

I'm stuck and tried a lot of combinations, different and re-installed the OS twice, I am an administrator and possess these privelages. HELP :((

Hi mate

Installing the RAID driver could solve this problem...

Also, I guess you used the right RAID settings in the BIOS.
As far as I know, you can change the RAID option in the BIOS on the last page (3-3)
RAID0 means stripping and RAID1 mirror you want to use.

After changing the RAID parameters, you must confirm this insert the string 1,2,3,4 and enter.

But note; After changing this you will need new OS install

  • Qosmio F30-140 - looking for a new motherboard or 2nd hand

I bought two Qosmio F30-140 and a half years.

There are months that my screen begins to blink, poor quality image and other Visual problems. Am went to Toshiba Service - they said your video GPU is not ok, you must change your motherboard, because the video controller is not separated. The price is... 980 EUROS. This is RIDICULOUS.

However, I would ask you - where can I buy new mb or 2nd hand? Is it compatible with my QOSMIO models? Please for your help, because I'll be forced to throw this laptop voucher. Thanks in advance

    Mladen

    Hey,.

I think the cheapest solution would be if you buy a second hand motherboard. You should take a look on eBay. Here you can often get second hand spare parts. An alternative, you can also buy a second laptop Qosmio F30 which is defective (e.g. display). You can use the motherboard of your laptop.

But don t forget that mainboard Exchange isn't easy and you need to remove a large number of screws. It s not as easy as on the desktop.

  • Qosmio G30 - external display problem (HDMI)

    Hello

I have Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP display with HDMI and DVI (with HDMI DVI converter) entry - I use HDMI as my primary connection. My Qosmio has NVidia 7600 Go card with the latest drivers provided by Toshiba for Vista 32 bit (version 7.15.10.9813).

My monitor was working fine months ago (same thing with my HDMI TV) I had no problems - but now I have a constant flickering problem (goes black watch my office then becomes black again) computer laptop monitor and no image on external display at all and I get 'balloon' message in the taskbar that my display driver has stopped working and it recovers when I leave my HDMI cable.

    any ideas?

    Thank you
    Bran.

    Hi Brani

It seems that the error comes from the display driver.
Why you n t try to remove the old display driver and try to reinstall the graphics driver of the European driver Toshiba page
    You may notice some improvements.

By the way; It might be useful to know that the Qosmio G30 supports the standard HDMI V1.1 (up to 1080i resolution).

  • Qosmio G30 - capacity of the HARD drive even after disable RAID

    Hi all

I have a G30 with two hard drives, which were broadcast in RAID 1 configuration for a year now. For RAID 1, I activated the mirroring and everything worked perfectly.

However, I'm now running out of space so I turned off mirroring using RAID console.
My question is "why do I always see the same capacity of HARD drive when I go on my computer? I hope that there is a simple answer to this.

    Thank you for Uncle Bob.

Can you see the drive in disk management?
Perhaps the HARD drive is not enabled or needs to be formatted.

And the BIOS recognizes the another HARD drive?

  • Qosmio G30-204 PQG32E hangs when you install the display driver

    Hello

I have a PG32E Qosimo G30-204 age of two weeks.

He has recently developed a graphical corruption as horizontal lines of thing that resemble lines of memory corruption. These either go away or reformed in another location when you scroll or move the page.

The installed display driver version is 7.15.10.9759 and there is a newer version on the download page.

Tried to install it twice and both times the machine froze during installation in a case goes blank after a refresh. In order to proceed was to remove the power and the battery from the machine. Then looking at Details of the driver after restart a normal life, even if the version number has changed the machine freezes at some point later, sometimes looking at the details of the driver or by opening a browser etc...

In both cases I had to go to safe mode and use back driver to make the machine can be used (but always with graphics issues).

    Any suggestions?

It is possible that the graph of problems occur only after the machine has been for a while, but again when they appear does not remove them.

Leave the machine off for awhile remove them because they do not produce all the time so maybe an overheating problem?

    Kind regards

    Andy

    Hello

I assume you mean the graphics driver for Vista. Am I wrong?

  • Display and boot on Qosmio G30-117 problems

    Hello

My Qosmio G30 (117) has problems to start. Basically the Qosmio title displays properly, but as soon as Windows XP appears, it is as a grid of white dots on the screen. He will then drain and take forever to get into windows. The grid of points remains all the time.

My hypothesis is that sound my display driver, but get an update is a challenge. When I try to download from the page drivers it says that there is none. The search is based on the model of my PC, it should be no wizard

I can't get into XP in safe mode.

Real question is, is this my driver or is this a hardware problem?

    Thanks for your help,
    Peter

    Hi guy,

that looks a little a hardware problem but before we get into it, you should download www.laptopvideo2go.com drivers (Please read the FAQS on this site!) and then, if the problem persists after installing new drivers, you must contact a local authorized toshiba service.

I give you a link if you really want to contact an ASP (Authorized Service Partner):

  • Qosmio G30: How to install Qosmio player under Win XP?

I bought Vista Ultimate inside a new G30. Many applications and devices does not work on Vista and I decide to do a migration to XP PRO. Windows work great but... How to install Qosmioplayer on XP PRO (TV buttons) and the rest of the work.

I have several CD recovery Qosmioplayer (from toshiba ftp), but all give me the message: the recovery is not for this system? There is version on XP PRO?

    Hello

On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find the Qosmio Player Utility for Windows XP MCE (should also work with XP Pro) or the independent version of the OS.

Choose the Qosmio G30 (PGQ30) I found the player Qosmio for Win MCE v1.61 and OS independent version 4.4 - 200601112.
Choose the Qosmio G30 (PGQ32) I found the player to Win MCE v1.70Qosmio.

I recommend trying to install these utilities and check which version will work on you laptop.

  • Qosmio F30-140: cannot install Windows operating system-> no. HDD

I bought the Qosmio F30-140 and I can't install Windows XP from my original cd: / recovery cd works fine but it installs a bunch of stuff I didn't need if I want a clean install...

so when I run my winXP cd Setup program I get the error message: "Setup did not find any hard drives installed in your computer..."

Although I can run windows normally which is installed from the CD of restoration... I think it's something with the hard disk drivers.

How can I overcome this? Thanks in advance :)

    Hello Sarunas

There s nothing wrong! Nothing with HARD drive or other hardware!
You have just installed the RAID driver
The Toshiba Recovery CD contains the RAID driver and so you can install it without any problem.
But the Windows CD contains no such driver and therefore the RAID driver must be installed at the beginning of the configuration of Windows installation procedure.

Windows will ask you 3 RAID driver. The RAID driver, you can find on the page of the Toshiba driver. Download it on the floppy drive and connect the external USB FDD drive.
From there, you will be able to install the RAID driver.

    Good luck..

  • Problems with the TV and WXP MCE on my Qosmio G30 Japanese tuner

    Hello everyone,

I bought my G30/593ls to the Japan. The operating system included it was the WXP Home edition, instead of the MCE. To watch TV, a program called avcenter was included. Unfortunately it is only available in Japanese. Then I looked around and found that, in all other countries THAT MCE was shipped with the laptop. Since I wanted to change to another OS even when (my Japanese is not good ^^) I thought why not MCE.

Right now I have the problem that after installing WXP MCE on my computer and it does not recognize my TV tuner. I'm sure that the tuner works, because when I use the media center I can watch TV. I used the same driver that was installed when I bought the computer.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the tuner of my version is not TNT but ISDB-t?

    Thank you

    Hello

no luck, my friend with this Tuner. You know why? ISDB-t is only Tokyo (Tokyo Tower sending) and available Okinawa and the Brazil as the standard TV.

So you will need to swap the tuner if possible, because the pilot European work on won´t for this device.

  • Qosmio F30-140: No Tuner TV with Windows XP Professional

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F30-140 unpacking for computer laptop, I bought a Windows Xp professional, but unfortunately I can't see a TV Tuner and I do not know how to handle this problem? And the second thing I have a problem with Qosmio player too.
It's everyone knows how to handle this?

Certainly, the Qosmio G30-140 supports a DVB-T/hybrid TV tuner.
What do you mean you can't see the Tv tuner?
Have you installed all necessary drivers?

    The laptop came with MCE.
Install the OS from recovery CD and connect the cable to antenna on the Qosmio and search for channels to MCE!

  • Cannot start windows on Qosmio G30

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G30 and I can't start windows XP MCE. When I start the computer, I see first is the screen "Qosmio" and there is no problem but when Windows starts, I see the logo and the background is filled with white dots. After that, windows logo disappears and the lines is still there. Finally, the screen goes black.

I formatted the computer and reinstalled windows, everything worked fine until I rebooted. Unfortunately, the problem is still there.

I can connect to windows if I hit F5 when booting up and then choose "safe mode".

    What can I do?

    Hello

Have you installed the operating system from the recovery CD delivered?
I asked because it sounds a little like a graphics card or graphics driver problem.

    > I can connect to windows if I hit F5 when booting up and then choose "safe mode".
This is possible because the graphics driver is not loaded in windows safe mode and OS uses the common Microsoft driver.

I would recommend the boot safe mode and then delete the preinstalled graphical driver.
The new driver can be downloaded from the page of tosh.

But if this procedure doesn't help and the strange lines appear again, I guess that the malfunctioning of the graphics chip
In this case the laptop must be checked by a technician
