  I have new Qosmio G40 108 loaded with Vista Ultimate and am very disappointed with the quality of video/DVD playback compared to the older machines loaded with XP. Seems insipid depth bland, not really the color and not too strong. I tried another laptop of another manufacturer and pretty much the same thing!

  What is Vista's fault? You want to try XP but blocks me when I boot with XP disc in. I would like to run the two to see if there is a difference. (Sorry to all if this appears as message repeated hurry but bad touches earlier - starting!)

  I don't have a notebook, G40 but I use the Vista OS and I must say that the video and the quality of the DVDs is great!
  Don't know what DVD software you use, but I use the WinDVD and Windows Media Player. Two applications provide the same quality.

  I hope that there is some good buddies out there that can save a window double glazing to be mullared by that lappy.
  I had (Qosmio G40-108 with 4 GB of RAM) since August 2007. Everything was fine until two weeks about where it kept crashing during the execution of a couple normal progs that I use.
  After reading several messages from buddies with similar problems, I think it might be the PCI express graphics. Is this good? I can swap out? Or advice, blaggs, ideas or suggestions are very welcome. :)

  Please understand that mobile technology is completely different Office of PC technology and motherboards are all just different.
  Upgrading the CPU's especially not possible or very risky for other reasons.

  A main reason could be overheating; as you know the stronger CPU would produce more heat and this could lead to a higher temperature and finally to overheating...

  In addition you BIOS was not configured for other processors so it possible s that your laptop does not start after such update!

  It depends on you how much money you want to spend. I mean that the difference between the-108 and-12 c, is-108 has a more powerful CPU (T7700) and a larger hard drive.
  But the basic technique, the machines should be similar.

  You have to choose yourself, but in all cases, you can buy the same maybe more or less powerful machine... :)

  As far as I know at this time G40 laptop isn't on the market, and unfortunately I can't find any info when this Qosmio could be available in the United Kingdom.

  Does anyone know if the G40-108 supports the RAID1? According to the manual, the G30-204 made but there is no mention of RAID in G40 manual even if the G30 and G40 have double HARD drive.

  What I want is simple, in theory. I have a VHS VCR, I have a few bands I want to convert it to DVD. I noticed that G40 has a S-Video In, so what I did, buy a cable that is SCART on one side and the other is S-video, I plugged the VCR to the G40, supported to the play in the VCR button, Ulead factory began to Toshiba, but nothing happens, I can not save anything, even to get a picture... the problem is not the cable because I connected the VCR to the TV , the same way (with the same cable) and it shows fine.

  Does anyone have an idea how to do that? I'm really desperate, I searched Foruns and googlled it but could not get a response.

  Ricardo is not a solution for you. The cable using S-video can only be used for the transfer of video signal.
  Do you have the picture without sound. I don't think so.

  I had similar experiences and I copied the old VHS tapes to my old Qosmio G30. Later, I converted the recorded material and created DVDs.
  My Qosmio G30 has antenna at the port and I plugged my VCR VHS to this port and transfer of video and audio signals. For example I started video on VHS VCR and started Windows media Center and scanned the channels and on channel 33, I saw my recorded material that comes from connected VCR VHS.

  I tried recording with Qosmioplayer and MCE. Using the two options, I was able to use the record option and have video content on the HARD drive.

  I don't know that the same thing can be done with G40. Check it out.

  I have a Qosmio F45-AV425 and recently bought a title of HD-DVD (planet Earth). I tried to play it drive Toshiba HD of Pentecost, but video and sound playback where buggy (video and his sometimes gel, 100% CPU usage). If I update the player to version v4.32.00, but nothing has changed.

  My computer has the TS-L802A HD player - DVD with the version 6.0.6000.16386 firmware (21/06/2006). I not found any update for this drive.

• Why the video playback quality is not as good as the source?

  Hello.  I'm not new to PrE but I'm new to the forum.

  I use the 2 pre for about 7 years.  I got a newer computer running Windows 7 and basically was forced to move to 12 meadow because PrE 2 does not work very well on the newer machine. Once I installed pre 12, I couldn't wait to jump in my first draft on this machine.

  I expect that with a more recent machine and the latest version of the software, I would get outstanding results - hopefully much better than what I always got with 2 pre on the old machine.  With pre 2, it was not uncommon that the imported video seemed frozen during playback or for some other reason seemed not as good as the video source.

  Unfortunately, the new results were no better than the old.  So, I went to the machine (even newer) my wife running Windows 8 and got the same results.  Then I thought that maybe the DVD release would be better than what I saw in the pre Editor.  No dice.

  The video quality of the source is not the largest (see below), but I was expecting that the pre 12 would no more hurt.

  What has gone wrong?

  BTW, I noticed that Steve Grisetti is one of the frequent speakers on this forum.  In case you're reading this, Steve, I want to thank you and Chuck E. for your pre books.  I bought one several years ago and found it very useful.  And surprisingly, I found that with pre 12, I could always use the book that I bought before because the majority was still with the new software.  Still a great buy!

  Please excuse if I talk about things that you may already be aware of, but I didn't take anything for granted.

  The RAM installed on the computer 1 is too low for the work of the HD, and I wonder about the CPU on Machine 2, even if it has installed more RAM on the Machine 1. For now, I'll ignore the usual exercises and get the project settings and media source.

  1. from what I can put together, your support of the source of the iPhone 4 is 720 p at 30 frames per second. This usually means a variable rate which can be problematic for Premiere Elements. The variable can lead to audio out of sync, but not necessarily. If all else fails, then it is on the brake hand or similar to change the variable in a constant rate.

  2. one of the features of the version 11 and 12 is the program of support for the definition of the project parameter based on the properties of the video first drag in the timeline.   When the 11 and 12 do not receive the automatic correct preset project, they don't give you the closest fit, rather than they give you their

  by default NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 that will not suit for 720 p video.

  Classically, it is written if you have the right predefined project, you should have no colored line on content when you import video

  manually defined timeline. But, just the variable rate may trigger the unreturned indicator (orange instead of red in versions 11 and 12).

  So make the timeline would be indicated for the best possible overview in these circumstances.

  Here's a suggestion. Go to the Nvidia Control Panel, choose video and television and then videocolors (or something like that; I have a Dutch version of Vista). We must lower the brightness (IE up to 40-45%) and high-contrast (IE 55-60%)

• Qosmio G20 - stucks HD video playback for 2-3 seconds

  I have a laptop Toshiba Qosmio G20 installed win - 7 on it and its fine to work without problem.
  But when I try to play HD videos, it's playing a little and then blocked for 2-3 seconds it continues and once stuck again.

  Can I upgrade my graphics card which currently is NVIDIA Geforce Go 6600 with 128 MB of RAM.
  I tried with the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers but no luck.

  I noticed the same thing on my Satellite P200. Just at the moment where I use maximum CPU performance (power management high performance) I can watch it without any problem.

  Can you please test it on your Qosmio?
  Qosmio G20 is old enough laptop model, so I don't think that the driver updates are available.
  I think we have of old notebooks boyfriend. ;) Might be time to buy new equipment.
