damaged photos

I keep most of my photos on an external hard drive. The DHM's wiped recently by accident, but before it has been used for something else, I downloaded and he opposed "Recuva". All the pictures I wanted to recover have been listed as "excellent". So I copied all back to my PC. Most of them is fine and can be regarded as normal, but many do not see a thumbnail (just the flower icon) and when I try to open them in the image viewer I get an error message that says that the file is unsupported, damaged or corrupted. I tried to use two of the photo correction programs available (against a small sample of these photos) that claim to repair damaged files, but they have not done.
Any suggestions? TIA

That showing "damaged images file sizes"?  Is files (file type) what?

Unfortunately because you needed to get these fies using undelete utility - it is likely that some of them will have had parts of their crushed file content - even though you have been recover data.  Chances are that these images are permanently lost for you if you don't have backups.  A backup is to have two copies of a file of data in two different physical locations.

    Hello!

Ive tried to take a wack at it in the Lightroom Develop module. I posted the screenshots of the changes I made.

    my result:

It's not perfect, but it was a quick attempt. I imagine that if you spend the time to it and may be editing in Photoshop for some intense changes, you can have an image that you are satisfied.  Not like when it was shot first, but you can find a part of it.

  • Help repair water damaged photo

My friend's house burned to the ground last fall. Only a few wedding photos has survived in a vault fire resistant, but is not waterproof. As a gift, I have restored all the photos, but this one is particularly important for the whole family because there are some photos of the mother of the groom, Jenny. It seems that she is the photographer of the family. They have learned a valuable lesson, they tell me, but it makes me even more eager to try to learn how to solve really this photo beyond cloning at the head of another image taken of years later, different from light, hair, radiance, etc.. I hope that someone will be able and willing to help me make some very nice people very happy. Thank you in advance, Paula

Well, the blue channel did some info let in. But of course, the skin is not look great in this channel. You might get away with integrating another photo if possible; If you have one with a similar pose, I would certainly use it. But the blue channel has enough information to make a picture of size beautiful cover and it's certainly better than what is there now.

Perhaps a picture black and white or tonic would somewhat facilitate the restoration.

My iPhone 6 has been crushed by a motor vehicle. These last photos of holiday had not been stored in iCloud or laptop. When my replacement phone arrived and has been connected to the laptop / iTunes and photos were chosen them pictures you want displayed on the screen for a few seconds then went off. Damaged phone with card SIM installed has then been connected to laptop computer / iTunes. Phone icon does not appear in the iTunes window. Apparently the phone is too damaged to connect. Any thoughts?

  • My Iwatch is synchronized with an Iphone which contained the water damage, and I had to replace my phone. Can I recover my photos of my Iwatch?

My Iwatch is synchronized with an Iphone which contained the water damage, and I had to replace my phone. Can I recover my photos of my Iwatch?

    Hello

No - you can't retrieve pictures directly from your watch. However, you can add your replacement iPhone.

Apple Watch stores the photos in an album photo sync on your iPhone. By default, it's on your album of Favorites (the photos that you have marked as Favorites). The photos may not be synchronized / extra back to your new iPhone to your watch - synchronization only works on the other hand.

To keep the same pictures on your watch once it is paired with your replacement iPhone, you must add these same photos to the iPhone. You may be able to do this by restoring a recent backup of your iPhone:

    - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

Once the pictures are on your iPhone, select the album to synchronize with your watch:

-On your iPhone, in the application of Eve, go to: My Watch (low left tab) > Photos > synced Album > selects an album > allow them to synchronize after changing the albums.

  • Photo with severe water damage restoration

One of my friends asked me to restore the picture attached (his father) who has suffered water damage (I erased the gentleman since I didn't ask permission to share the photo with others). Fortunately the face of the person is intact, but everything else is damaged. The peak in the background is the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps and the photographer has chosen this clever angle so that the person is almost as large as the peak. I know how to use spot healing and the clone stamp, but my biggest problem is that the outline of the PIC has been deleted. I tried to increase the contrast with a layer and had only limited success in the law, but none on the left.

    My two-part question:

    (1) could you suggest a way to reveal more of the sketch of the mountain and

    (2) if it assumes that the only choice left, what is the best way to draw the edges of the top of the mountain

By the way, I mentioned to my friend the ability to insert his father in a photo of the Matterhorn, but 'a fake' don't just because this photo has a very special meaning for her.

All the advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!Query.jpg

I dragged with the Quick Selection tool. It is possible to correct that you select, for example, hold the cursor more for less Alt key changes. So, you can add bits and take out the bits to perfect.

  • Photos.app: library is damaged... Move it to the trash

I just moved library of Aperture/iPhoto to Photos.app daughter so that she could use his iPhone for its library of triage. I'm on Yosemite.

After the conversion I'm done with two regular libraries, opening and Photos.app. Photos of open and closed well. If I tried to start by clicking on the library, although I got a horrible error message. Something like "library is corrupted" and "must be placed in the trash". No sign of hope.

It was a bug of course. The library was very good. Inspection of the 'failure' app was Photos.app, but the soft launch was in fact iPhoto. The error, however, came from Photos.app.

Therefore iPhoto has attempted to open the library, could not (of course), but Photos.app showed the error message.

Yes, it's messy. It looks like some sort of bug, launchservices. I used the context menu to say to Yosemite to always open in Photos.app. Error solved.

Interestingly, I got the same message of horror when I tried to open a library migrated using opening. Yet once the fix was to circumvent the procedure of opening the usual file and choose open with, then go to the app. I will try to rebuild my launch base.

  • Get photos of Z3 display is damaged

Does anyone have an idea how I can back up my phone if the screen cannot be unlocked? I tried the volume buttons, connection to the laptop and using the remote control Ps3 but you cannot have access to the phone! Help, please!

It depends on what damage has your screen, the partial or total (you don't see anything). If the first case just buy a USB OTG cable and connect a mouse to unlock.

  • importing photos with a screen from damage.

The screen of my iphone is not working, I can't see anything init, but it works ok, if I remember had to touch, how do I import pictures into my PC?

It is my understanding that Apple iPhones requires that you use iTunes to transfer photos.  But the good news is that, all the stuff you need to see will be on the computer screen.

  • Windows Photo Viewer cannot open this file because the file seems to be corrupted, damaged or too big.

I am on Windows 7 and using Photo Viewer to watch 5 tiff files. I can open all tiff files in photoshop or psp, but not in photoviewer. Here, I can open only 2 smaller files. Is there a limit of size on the photo viewer (it seems). The files that I can not open are 1.45

    Hello

    a. like you said that the size of file that 1.45, could you give the exact size in MB, GB or KB?
    b. Since the photoviewer is used to display basic tiff files, if the file contains additional metadata information that can not be played on photoviewer it could give you the error message.
1 copy these pictures on another computer in Windows 7 and check if the files open.
    2. you can also try to change the file format and check if it converts in this format and it opens correctly.
You can see the following article on changing the file format.
    I hope this helps.

    ==============================================
    Here's a possibility...

Sometimes corruption can occur if the batteries in the camera are weak...
After a long photo shoot session... for example.

It is one of the main reasons that I recommend to use an internal
or external USB media rather than directly download player
    the camera.
