Qosmio G40 - 10F - extra hard drive
Hello
I have recently purchase a G40 thinking it was x 2 of physical drives, it appears in this model there is only a single physical HD
I read in many places, there is room for the G40-10 for a reader to additional disk placed inside the machine but this model seems to have simply a fixed cover but the space for the reader to be mounted
Nobody knows of the back plate is removed and an additional hard drive caddy to store additional drive - it should be relatively simple with a heat dissipation and other I think all that is needed is the replacement carriage and connector cable SATA - x motherboard 2 recognisies readers
All I really want to know is
(1) is it possible
(2) is - someone doing it
(3) toshiba reference numbers for the caddy and for a G40 - 10F sata cables
Hello
I have a Qosmio G30, but I saw G40 and if I remember, although in the lower corner, that there are two HARD drives covers. Two of them are placed close to the battery, and they have one, how to say, plastic circle. AFAIK the G40 is offered with one or two hard drives. The first HARD disk is placed inside fixed with a screw. One extra is placed under the second HARD drive cover fixed with two screws.
I don't really know if your G40 is extensible, but you can contact the service provider authorized in your country. They have access to the database of Toshiba and they can check it for you. Part number is usually internal case and it is not easy to find number of exact part for these additional parts like the drive bracket HARD or cables.
Make a call and pick up information on the possibility of upgrade HARD drive.
One last thing: try to remove the cover for the second HARD drive and check if the HARD drive connector is there.

Hello Phil
Now, I found this interesting thread on your problem. What is find a solution?
If nothing helps remove SSDS, set the BIOS settings by default (if you enter it again) and put the old HARD drive.General SSDs should be recognized correctly and there is not a big problem with these updates.

Registration with Qosmio G40 - 10F entry
Hey
I've got the Qosmio G40 - 10F.
Try saving a few TV summer messing around just to see if I could make it work, but no luck.First of all, I tried to play with media center, could not find a way.
I Googled, then it and found this... (I know it's a different model, but this is the closest example of you that I could find)
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=21006
But the development of photo utility is not in Toshiba assist thing to watch the entrance (first tried just to test). I downloaded cyberlink and could only find two devices (webcam and capture of Toshiba).Any idea? I am connected to a TV using it's composite past to the plug-in software component video cable (from composite on, I think it is, a 3.5 jack (even used for headphones anyway) I got with the laptop.)
Thanks in advance for any help :))
KieranStand by. You have a problem with registration only or you aren't able to watch television at all?
I did some experiments with Qosmio G30 and WMC and I was able to record all programs available. Because of this, I would like to know if you are able to watch the TV or not.

Qosmio G40 - 10F: cannot use IRDA
I recently received this Qosmio G40 - 10F and I read on the specifications for its IR. But infrared devices such as the transfer of my phone to the laptop does not work. There is no such IRDA device on Device Manager to activate. So I got the idea that I could check on the bios.
But I do not have the bios boot.
It is usually used to be the DELETE key on my computer but when I boot on the laptop, it does not indicate any key to boot to the bios.I would appreciate if I could get help at the start of the BIOS or set the IRDA settings on.
ThanxI agree, esc should do the trick. :)

Cisco BMI - extra HARD drive addition
Hello
I bought a few extra hard drives for my server Cisco UCS C240 M3
Currently I have 16 x 300 GB SAS drives in a RAID 10 array and would add more than 8.
In BMI - storage - physical drive information they appear as not configured well.
How I can not either;
1. add additional to the existing table hard disks, without deleting the existing data?
2. Add another virtual drive in RAID 10?
The server is running ESXi v5.5
Thank you
Steve,
Add more disks to your existing table without losing data should be an option of your storage array 1 - at work, I think it is called extension online something for LSI RAID controllers.
2 - I hope that this helps you: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computi... < i="" hope="" you="" meant="" to="" add="" another="" virtual="" raid="" 10,="" if="" not="" let="" me="">

Should Qosmio G40 - 10F - we support a 12mm hard drive?
I searched the internet for this, and I found a few sites say that it supports a hard drive of 12mm in its Bay, and others have said not that at all.
"I just want confirmation that a 12mm of the 2.5 HDD", we can insert in the laptop, I want to upgrade to the new WD 1 TB 2.5 "HDD, but it is not the standard size of 9.5 mm and 12mm instead.
Thank you
According to the specifications of the laptop FUJITSU G8BC0003K251 HARD drive for use with your laptop and the height of this disc is 12.5 mm HARD so I think that's not a problem to use the other HARD drive with the same height.

Qosmio F750-129 - change HARD drive
Hi all
For my QOSMIO F750-129, currenlty it works with native hard drive Hitachi HTS547575A9E384 (5400 RTM)
I would change this hard drive for a faster:
Seagate hybrid SSD Momentus XT ST750LX003 2,5 "SATA III 750GO (7200 RPM)
or
Hybrid of Seagate 1 TB portable computer SSHD ST1000LM014 (5400 RPM)Is it possible for you (power, temperature, SATA interface...)?
Thanks a lot for your help.
To increase the performance of the laptop HARD drive change is recommended. I recommend exchanging it with SSD. You will see the difference. Computer laptop will start and runs much faster than before.
Toshiba also offers SSD so if you need some info visit http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

I want to install Win XP on Vista on Qosmio G40 - 10F - need drivers
Hello
I have a Qosmio G40-10th which has Windows Vista.
I want to switch to Windows XP but worry about what drivers I need and where can I get them? Also, I wonder if XP installation means that I would be able to use the Vista recovery disk I got with the Qosmio.
Any help is very appreciated,
Kind regards
EOC
Hello
Go to the Toshiba driver page:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
And check if you have the drivers for win xp for your model, otherwise, it will be useless to install it.
For my laptop, I installed Vmware with windows xp inside environment.

Qosmio G40 - 10F down arrow is triggered by itself
Qosmio G40 - 10th down arrow seems to trigger by itself while booting and while I view web pages.
The problem surface when I was accessing the web pages at the start of the screen to scroll down by himself.
Before, I thought that the button may be pressed hard but when I looked at the issue through a senser key application to test what triggers the down arrow key press on and found that two or three other keys trigger arrow key down automatically.
namely, in arrow, i key, key k, function keys. But when I press ESC or Page up/Page down, scrolling stops for a while but starts to make arrow down by itself again.
I have re-installed and restored the entire operating system to the date of loading of the factory and the problem solved only for a few minutes and the issue is back.
I am convinced that this is due to software problem and not a hardware problem, as the key works fine for a while and after a few minutes, begins to trigger arrow down permanently.
Please advise,
Thank you.Have you tried an external USB keyboard and then you have the same problem?
I think that it s a hardware problem and the keyboard must be exchanged, but that before test with an external keyboard.

Qosmio G10-133 need HARD drive model number
Hi, did anyone know how I can get the model not the original toshiba drive comes with my qosmio? (it was replaced due to failure)
If it can help my laptop is a G10 133 - PQG10E-02E00EEN no.25013825h series
I tried a technical support without success...
Or does anyone have a G10 133 that has his drive hard 80gig of origin in what they could tell me what is the model number... Please!Reason being, I have the original tray and I need to buy an identical car to try to recover data
Thanks in advance
Hello
You n don't need to buy an original Toshiba HDD each different manufacturing HDD will work if it will be compatible with the standard of substantive law.
I guess that the G10 is capable of managing the 100 GB maybe 120 GB hard drives.
The laptop supports an EIDE interface and therefore, you should use HDD s supporting the IDE (ATA-5) increased.
Each laptop dealer sells HARD disks -
Add and extra hard drive to A706n
Can I add an extra internal hard drive to my A7806N? If yes which is recommended?
Your topic says A706n, so I will be with this:
Computer A706n: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00232946
Manual upgrade A706n (see page 12): http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00230511.pdf
500 GB 16 MB cache: preferencehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136111 $85
320 GB 8 MB cache: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136785 $65
BTW: Congrats on a circa 2004 XP machine. You must be kept very clean inside. If it was my machine, I would clone the drive to replace and remove the old drive in an external enclosure. It is more than 7 years old. As the old drive probably has a 8 MB cache, you see some improvement with 16 MB cache. From my quick research for you, I found that 8 MB cache drive was 80-320 GB disks. The only 16 MB cache was the 500 GB.

Qosmio X 300-130 - hard drive Question
Why Toshiba has equipped this model with 2 x 320 GB 5400 RPM drives when there are 320 GB 7200 tours available disks.
Is it a question of dissapation of heat with higher rpm records?Hello
I imagine that the heat can be the reason for this. As you know heat and how cool the material is a common problem with books and I think that Toshiba has decided to use the HARD drive maybe a bit more slow, but avoid a temperature higher inside the laptop.

Satellite A200-193 - installing an extra HARD drive
Hello
I have a Satellite A200-193 and I would like to install one additional go 160 HARD drive into the free location.
The problem is that there is no SATA connector to this place (switch on the motherboard, not more).
I know there are computer A200 laptop with a second HDD and my question is "if I go into an official TOSHIBA Service Center, it is possible to install a SATA connector in this free site, this is to allow the installation of additional HARD drive? If someone could help me on this point, it would be great.
Thank you.
Hi Mathieu
I see that you are a bit confused ;)
As you known t n, there are probably different Satellite A200 series a series helps the second HARD drive upgrade and some A200 series cannot be upgraded
But the A200 series was equipped with the same laptop coversThis means that you will find the second drive HARD on all mobile A200 Bay but the drive HARD (SATA) connectors don t exist on each series.
It seems that your laptop cannot be upgraded with the second HARD disk because of the second missing HARD drive interface.I hope I can clarify this confusing question ;)
Good bye
