Qosmio G50 - 10 H: Aero stopped working & Dynadock mirror adapter - SOLUTION

In case someone needs to know, that is what happened (Aero stopped working) and how it was resolved.

1 / 10-Mar-09, Aero works perfectly. Dynadock attached. Dual displays connected to the Qismio not the Dynadock.

2 / Windows Update has taken place. (I see nothing in the newspaper of the relevance of the problem).

3 / 11 March 09, Aero stopped working with one time message, part reads "... driver mirror found...". ».

4 / google this to death with only a vague tip with any sense. "The graphics adapter does not support the Aero...

5 / yes I checked Nvidia drivers; no change is there made. I checked the Dynadock Dislaylink device in Device Manager. There was a device called "DisplayLink mirror adapter". I disabled it, restarted and lo - there's Aero again

When I go the Dynadock, I connect the DVI monitor to the Dynadock with the always off mirror adapter and see if Aero still works.

As to why it happened all of a sudden...

Hope this helps someone frustrated by this nonsense,

Thank you for this information buddy. I think it could be useful for other people here in the forum!

    Hi Rick,

It is clear with the message that it's a mirror driver that is causing the problem

mirror is normally installed by remote desktop programs and a few other types

example: readers such as JAWS, Window-Eyes and FreedomBox; the monitoring software LanSchool; and remote desktop like LogMeIn, UltraVNC, TightVNC and Radmin software.

The display driver that you said something about RDPP string and mirage pilot etc.

Check if you have in programs and features and uninstall, if not, uninstall the driver from Device Manager display (checkbox to delete files when uninstalling it), then download the original driver from the dell website and install it (I prefer the first pilot who was published and not the last)

    Hope this helps,

  • Aero stopped working on HP Envy 14-1000

Aero worked fine until a couple of days and now it has stopped working.  I don't think I did anything that could have messed up.

I use Windows 7 64-bit on an HP Envy 14-1000.

I ran the resolution of problems in the customization of Windows menu, and it came with nothing.  I ran FixIt's online tool that Microsoft provides and he told me that my 'graphics card does not support the required display settings."  It's an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650.  Of course he can't stand because he has worked since I the machine several years ago.

I've updated the video drivers both using the HP Support Assistant and manually and am currently using the reference AMD 9.2 drivers.

I ran the last DirectX User runtimes to ensure that my directx is not defective and it is fine.

Finally, the steam (gaming service) notes my Version of the DirectX driver as 8.5.6.31854.  Don't know if it's relevant, but it seems that maybe why Windows is not a DirectX 9 compatible card.

    Any help is appreciated.

So, apparently, it's the basic of DisplayLink software.  I tried to start a game of twice as much steam and both times it crashed (so I thought it would look if same Aero does not display properly).  After the second accident, however, Windows popped up an error message saying that the basic of DisplayLink software crashed and that there is an update that fixes this particular bug.  I went to the website, installed the update and it fixed Aero.

    Hope that helps someone.

Macromedia Projector is a utility that includes a Visual Flash presentation in a stand-alone EXE file, so you can view the images on a PC without the Flash Player installed.

I see that this problem could be associated with a problem between Direct X and Shockwave.  It can be corrected either by:

    ·         Re-install the latest Direct X

    ·         Uninstall and reinstall Shockwave, if you already have the latest direct

    Method 1:

To download and install the latest version of DirectX, follow these steps:
Visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:
    http://msdn2.Microsoft.com/en-us/DirectX/aa937788.aspx (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/directx/aa937788.aspx)

Follow the steps on the Web site to download and install DirectX.
You can also visit the following address Microsoft Windows Update Web site to see if DirectX updates are available:
    http://windowsupdate.Microsoft.com

    Method 2:

    Also try the clean boot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

  • Assassin's Creed and Hitman have stopped working, is there a solution?

I have Creed of Assassin's I, II and brotherhood, Hitman: Silent Assassin, Hitman:Blood Money, Hitman:Contracts and the original 47 Hitman:Codename.  Now one of the seven will load and read, but it's the only program, the only one that does not appear on the list of installed programs, being the Codename 47.

These games, used to work just fine until Ubisoft has improved the Game launcher to 2.x software and now all my games that are installed have stopped working and fail to finish loading.  They claim that the pitcher throws other programs on the PC outside their software.  Now none of them work, including other games that are not Ubisoft.  I tried CCleaner, uninstall, then reinstall, etc. anything.  They seem to have changed some of the files base within the Pro Win7 OS I use.  It of very frustrating and lost more time to try to nail down trying to find the changes that have been made.  Short of a new Win7Pro facility, which would empty all the software that I installed and if I do that I can as well wipe the entire hard drive, and then start over again, I really don't want to do.  I'm afraid that if I buy a new game that uses graphics to high-end of my CPU and GPU capabilities, it does not work either and it will just be wasting my money and time as well.  Is there any real help to this other question that the stars from scratch?

I built my own off the shelf components, is a system of Wintel ASUS mother board and video card (ATI 1 GB), Intel processor i7 quad core 950 3.07 GHz, Win7Pro, 6 GB of DDR3 RAM, etc.  just a notch below extreme, built when the 950 had just been out for a month or 2.  It was and is still, works very well.  Somehow the OS files seem to have been changed.  All other software such as AutoCAD and other rendering software, works very well.

So I think a Ubisoft launcher feature is supposed to prevent you from having to be online when you play the games?
All of these downloads of steam games or are they a mix of disk and download?

Have you tried disabling your Virus Ainti?

I still don't think that the "launcher" mess with Windows is just a buggy application and is may be in conflict with something else.
You can try running through clean boot to see if there are conflicts.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If there is no joy in the light of the foregoing, and the game specific forums (I see there are a lot of entries when you perform a search on the web about the Ubisoft Launcher) do not always provide a fix, I'd be inclined to do a system restore and to uninstall the game and return as it is or wait until Ubisoft unravel the 'Launcher '.

"Ubisoft and Steam do not have the Hitman series.
    Quite right - EIDOS

    "They really need to regroup."
You're not wrong. Beginning with a focus on customer satisfaction and service rather than deal with the honest customers like the enemy, but unfortunately, Ubisoft is not alone in this attitude, it is pervasive throughout the "industry" of the game.
Another reason for the bad attitude of the suppliers of computer software is the people
the Government doesn't understand computers and let software vendors
away with things than the other mfg cannot when it comes to the marketing of a defective product.
Here in Oz, we can return a store bought game that wreaks havoc on
remove the machine as this game is made to your (not offering is not an alternative to not install the Launcher is an abrogation of our rights), as something that does not work as intended or designed is deemed defective, but dealing with one online
provider as the steam is a minefield with little protection by the law of sustainable consumption.

Games Steam can be a problem. What I hated on steam before getting broadband services (only on 18mos ago) was having to update the game before you play. Even offline.
I was unable to play (purchased on disk) FEAR2 for nine months because of the huge (a little less than 2 GB) patch. When HL2 is released, it took, I don't even remember how long, to be able to play the game for the same reason.
I should have returned FEAR2 (HL2 came with a gpu) but I new that I have to get broadband in the end.  so I don't bother.
Steam is fortunately fairly well adjusted these days. As long as you have
Broadband and let the steam do as he wishes on the Steam Client and updates when you start Steam line, and then play games
of steam offline is no problem.
The new kids on the block are still going but one, ' to make the consumer a
Beta-test of Guinea pig while we try to imitate the steam ' phase.
GFWL (not exactly new) is always a big fight that I would be a little further

  • Windows Explorer stops working, then restarts

Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer stops working, then restarts whenever a windows in the start menu program is closed. In some programs in the start menu, such as Documents, pictures, music, games, computer, control, devices and printers, ect. The error message indicates that windows Explorer has stopped working and controls a solution. Then after about 10 seconds, all the desktop icons disappear, and then looks like windows Explorer restarts itself. I am running windows 7 since an upgrade of Vista. I reinstalled windows 7 upgrade kit and done all the recommended solutions to various web pages, but the problem persists. I talked to tech support and they say that, perhaps, some of the registry files are corrupted. The problem does not occur when I start the computer in safe mode. I have updated all drivers and updates of the window. I don't have a disk of Vista orginal software. Can I fix this on my own?

    Hi Michaeldaz,

As the problem does not persist in safe mode, I suggest that you perform the clean boot procedure to check whether a third-party program installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.
