  my quest is now trying the i7 - 640 m 2.80 ghz tech w/turbo max to 3.46 ghz that may be upgraded to max processor for this laptop. as I said earlier if the stats from cpu - z and hp manual claim the - 7-720qm and 820qm will work, they do not have, so no chance of a solution of quadruple-heart for this motherboard and find another motherboard tried. I work with video Time lapse 1920x1080p generated by Lightroom 4 through LRTimelapse, which uses the H.264 mp4 codec.  My video clip features movements of a camera bump that has stabilized through Warp, but there also slowed a little need to reach a specific length. String and time remapping can be done on the same sequence, so I think I need to export the clip stabilized string in an intermediate file, re - import in to the body and then slow down the clip. I tried MXF OP1a: class AVC-Intra 100 1080. Video re-imported mxf blurs when previewing, but is strong when the clip is stopped.

• Best Mac Pro Configuration for LR?

  For various reasons, I'm planning on migrating from my home desktop pc (4 years core2 2.4 ghz xp pro sp 3 32-bit to access the 2.93 on 4 GB of ram) to a new or (slightly used recently) Mac Pro desktop computer.  The Mac Pro is available in many different configurations and I would appreciate advice on the number of cores and the amount of ram I really need to run comfortably LR3x and its upgrades (within reasonable limits) and the PS3 for now and more later probably all that is underway.  I'm a reasonably advanced amateur photographer. I shoot what interests me and now use LR 90-95% of my post processing of my image of Leica and Canon raw files. I use some add-ons (SilverEfex Pro2 and others).

  I understand some articles read too much muscle in the Mac Pro can actually slow down LR, so if this is the case I would stay slim; also economic issues are somewhat a matter of concern.

  I have already considered a laptop or an iMac and decided that the Mac Pro is what I want.  The question is just "what will work best for me?

  @ Bob: I think you might have acquired some misinformation somewhere. There is no such thing as "too much muscle" in a Mac Pro in relation to Lightroom - or any other program. OS X allocates resources to applications as they need. Unused resources remain inactive or are used by other applications.

  Adobe posts the minimum requirements for their applications, but these should be just taken as a starting point. In my opinion you should buy the best Mac Pro can manage your budget - and maybe a little more. The computer is an investment, after all, not a luxury. That said, you need to run Lightroom efficiently and Jay what to do video editing are not necessarily the same. For video rendering more hearts are better.   VM traffic: vlan 6

  VMotion: vlan 7

  Configuration:

  VMkernel port ISCSI0, vmk1 tagged vlan 5

  Port group VM-traffic, the tag vlan 6

  VMkernel por vMotion0, vmk2 the tag vlan 7

  Regarding safety, it depends on your needs. You can always leave the VLAN iSCSI and vmotion again according to the requirements of connectivity to other systems.

  For $32, I would upgrade. Keep in mind, none of this will help games performance at all. You have integrated graphics card Radeon 4350 UMA which is unimpressive to say the least. The SSD will give you faster boot time and better performance of the app and the 8 GB of RAM would you allow to run other things at the same time. Spend you all this money and do all this work and then be always wanting something better, I predict.

  I had to call HP tonight to see how to activate my backlit keyboard. It does not work with the Fn and SPACEBAR. I built my laptop DV6 quadruple-heart online and it comes today.
