Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros Wifi card driver updates?

I have a laptop of HP2000 running Windows 8.1

I was hoping an update for this network card because I had problems with connectivity network for several weeks and several times the windows diagnostic resets this network adapter.

I get the notice via HPSA that there (2) updates to this network adapter.   I can download updates, but the installation failed on both and I don't know why or where to look to find out why.  Study now has me completely confused.  Here is what is currently installed on my laptop:

Qualcomm-Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi AR9485 adapt

SoftPaq number: SP65428

Driver date: 12/11/2013

Driver version: 10.0.0.274 (1.00Ap7)

This update of the driver was JUST installed on 14/04/2014 (3 weeks)

Here is the info on what HPSA watch are updated for this card-

Important updates, note first received Saturday, April 26, 2014

Updates download but would not install.

* Qualcomm Atheros AR9000 series Wireless LAN Driver for MS Windows

SoftPaq number: SP63802

Version: 1.00Ap21

Size: 73.89

* Qualcomm AR9000 Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for MS Windows 8 series

SoftPaq number: SP62425

Version: 1.00Ap17

Size: 38,27 MB

(research on hp.com for SP62425 the date this update 26/06/2013)

Both of these driver updates seem to be more OLD than what I currently installed?

If I go My HP account have my system scanned for updates, the SP65428 I have already installed is displayed. Neither HPSA showing that I should install appear on my updates.

I guess the question I have now, it is what is the most current, correct pilot and working for AR9485 of Qualcomm Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter?

And if that's what I have already installed it, why I received this notice am updates HPSA?

Thank you.

By a post elsewhere in the Forums of HP, current updated driver are available at http://www.station-drivers.com/ .

I downloaded and installed

Version: 10.0.0.287

Published 25/03/2014

and from this moment, everything seems to work properly.

I would still like someone to confirm that it is suitable for the AR9000 Qualcomm Atheros driver series network adapter for Windows 8.1.  And if I NOW the current driver is there a glitch in HPSA to send assignments to update driver irrelevant?

Thank you!

  • Updated the Windows 10 Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros Wifi Card Driver

Currently, I encounter a similar problem with my HP Envy 17 Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros wifi adapter. The ethernet connection works but not WiFi. I can only connect to wifi after I immediatnly reset my router. All other devices work with the router. If the HP Envy 17 goes to sleep or stay on for an extened period, it disconnects and is not able to reconnect to my network. I had a similar problem to connect to another wireless network.  I've updated, restored, disabled and reinstalled the drivers from the adapter to any wifi avil. I returned at various points system retore. I tried everything except uninstall Windows 10. The HP Envy 17 is longer under warranty. At this point, should I open the laptop and replace the wifi card, or is there something that I have not tried?

Thanks much for the reply, EmeraldAvenger. Yes, I tried all of your suggestions. It was never a red X in Device Manager. I tried different sleep mode power options and channels (1-11) on the router settings. I have reset the BIOS. I even contacted my ISP, who assured me that the issue was with my laptop, not the connection. The only way I could solve this problem was to remove the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless adapter and replace it with the wifi Intel 7260 inside my laptop adapter. I had no problem since since the swap. In fact, my connection is now faster and more reliable. I suggest to all who encounter this problem to just go ahead and replace the Atheros AR9485 Qualcomm. It is unforunate that HP has saddled 17 envy with this apparently faulty piece of equipment, but they have several useful videos on their support site to guide users how to disassemble their laptop.

    Hey Buddy,

What is your WiFi card listed correctly in the Device Manager? Perhaps only the driver must be reinstalled and then you can use the internal WiFi card again. Here you can download the latest drivers:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

By the way: what OS are you using? If you install OS preinstalled Toshiba using the Toshiba recovery disc are all the drivers already installed, and you should be able to use the internal WiFi card.

I have a modem router from Linksys WAG320N but expected something better. It is easy to configure for a connection high speed and have a lot of adjustment possibilities but a transmission of the signal is very poor. It is said that there are 3 antennas (internal I guess, don't see them) and I had trouble with a bad signal within a dish a few meters from the router. Genererally is not a bad router. I've seen a lot of recommendations for billions routers (modem router)...

The name of Cisco on Linksys products not always means reliability. I do not know which router I will buy as a replacement for the WAG320N in the future, but it would not be a Valet or Linksys. This D-Link good mine:

  • Find a WiFi card driver for my laptop.

Hi, I have my kids great cast off laptop. They forgot all the passwords I did an installation of Win 7 CD.

Now it seems that no driver for the WiFi card. Every way I try to download a driver (I'm looking to download more in the hope of finding one that works) they want to go on the web and find and download rather than just give me the file. Of course the machine cannot connect to the web without the driver. (Catch 22).

I'm stuck. What can I do?

    Ken

You should get the driver for your wireless network card (and possibly additional drivers) on the web site of the manufacturer of the laptop.

Many of the major manufacturers portable have systems that will allow you to get the right drivers for your specific unit.

Dell, for example, uses the 'number of Service Dell'--> http://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/04/article/Product-Support/Self-support-Knowledgebase/locate-service-tag/Notebook

Lenovo has a 'machine type/model' designation or serial number used to identify the machine--> https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/find-product-name

If the driver download page that you arrive finally has more than one driver for a wireless network adapter, open Device Manager (click Start Orb, type Device Manager, press enter), double-click "Network adapters" section to develop, and you should be able to match the description of your wireless network adapter to one of the reasons mentioned on the download page.

If you can't always understand what you have, double-click the entry for your wireless network adapter, click on the "Détails" tab, select "Hardware ID" from the drop-down list and post back with the specified value (you can right click > copy this value and then paste in your response).  It should look like this:

    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_16B1 & SUBSYS_96B11849 & REV_10

Once you have located the correct driver, download it using the computer that you use to ask your question here, copy to a USB flash drive and take the flash drive to the computer laptop problem.

  • Question about graphics card driver updates on Satellite U300 series

I am installing Spyder2 Pro on Vista Home premium 32-bit, but I have problems with this load in CS2. I contacted Colorvision and they suggested that if the video card is more than 6 months old I would need the last update. I searched toshiba/intel Web sites and could not update, when I download and try to install it I have the version more up-to-date, which is 7.14.10.1263.

    Can anyone help!

    Hello

I think you probably have an error during the download of the driver. As I know the latest version of the Intel VGA for Vista Home Premium 32 Bit drivers is '7.14.10.1409 '. Please click [HERE: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2301&OS FullName = windowsvista + * + Home + Premium % 2 C + 32 - bits + version & lang = eng & strOSs = 153 & submit = Go % 21] and download this driver to update your graphics driver to the latest version.

Would be recognizing some comments if the update worked for you.

  • The satellite L650 - 1 M 0 graphics card driver update

I want to update my graphics (hd 5650) driver.
Driver Toshiba site is old. I want the latest driver for my graphics card.

Can someone give some link to new driver?

You can check the drivers that have been released for other portable Toshiba supporting the same graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

AFAIK the notebooks with the same GPU are:
    Satellite L650D PSK1SE
    Satellite L655 PSK1JE
    Satellite L655D-PSK1SE
    Satellite L670 PSK3EE
    Satellite L670D PSK3NE
    Satellite L675 PSK3EE
    Satellite L675D PSK3NE

    Satellite Pro L650 PSK1KE
    Satellite Pro L670 PSK3FE

Otherwise, you can consult the page of the ATI driver, but the use of these drivers is your risk and peril since these ATI drivers are not modified for mobile use.

  • Sat Pro 2100: the graphics card driver updates

I bought a laptop from Toshiba in 2002 (satellite pro) and they have just updated the VGA driver once...
I bought a toshiba, then because they had the graphics card, I'd need for my study (virtual design) but now because Toshiba somehow don't think that new drivers are important I can't use certain features have new drivers and my chip does not support, but I have not the driver for them.
    Is this normal?
If it is then maybe I should get another brand in the future.

    Gaga Hello

As you know Toshiba have many different models of laptops, and I think that it is not easy to design and test many updates especially for older models. In my opinion, you should check what new portable has the same or similar graphics card and try to install the latest driver designed by Toshiba.

Unfortunately I put t know one you have and don't know if the new driver will be working properly, but you can try anyway.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P10 and the graphics card driver updates

    Hello

I'm a newbie on this forum, but let's get to the point. I have Toshiba Satellite PSP10E (PIV 2.8HT 800 Mhz, 1 GB of system memory bus speed and UNFORTUNATELY a GF 5600go...).
My (not only) problem is that Toshiba use engineering video BIOS version and it does not have the latest drivers for the geforce series. The most up-to-date driver that really works is the last of the series 5xxx... so you can see that none of the newer games can be run with a performance on this map... because older drivers don't use really not (available at directx9.0) 2.0 pixel shader. It would not be a problem if Toshiba would give an update not only BIOS system, but also the bios video (new system BIOS contains the same old video bios.

I really had to settle for playing games that are 2 years old? First of all pay a lot of money for a witch of the computer has enough power to run some new but don't care support Toshiba for this...

I was the proud owner of a Toshiba laptop, but I'm not! If I had to choose again, I decide to buy computer Toshiba...
My Question: is that Toshiba will do something with this problem? Someone knows how to help? Thanks for any help (I have not found such a problem in this forum, sorry if it has been the front sign) and sorry for my English (hope that's understandable)
    My video Bios is: v4.31.20.56.A6

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hello

We know that you can not install the drivers downloaded from the download page of GF because of the restriction of material. It's not only the Toshiba models, but also on other producers of portable and if you visit the download page of graphics cards, it is always recommended to download drivers designed by the manufacturers of portable.

I think that nobody can explain why it's because I'm sure you know the reason. The performance of the graphics card will always be a topic of discussion and you will always want to have maximum performance for games with laptop, although performance may not be the same as on the desktop where you have the possibility to change the graphics card and install the latest drivers.

Because of this, I think that it is really unnecessary to some turbulence here. Believe me, you can buy what you want, but after two or three years you will be always satisfied with something.

In any case, good luck and enjoy life!

As for your question regarding the upgrade of the GPU. It would normally be at your disposal you have a CTO laptop, but I do not see the graphics chips that support unit that would make a significant difference in your machine. I'm you provide a link to the HP Support document: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide of where if you look on page 3 you will see the graphics supported for your computer.

I hope that I answered your question to your satisfaction even if it wasn't good news. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

    Hello @heaterguy,

I understand that you are at the point where you are looking to replace your graphics card. You can update your graphics card. Just using a PCE Express x 16 graphic card and remember to keep in mind the requirements of power currently according to the Specifications of HP Pavilion p6240f Desktop PC , you have a 300 Watt power supply. If the graphics card, you choose requirement more power than you need to update as well.

Also, be sure to disable in the BIOS of your integrated graphics.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
