Query about claiming space after a drop/truncate a table

Hi all

Greetings.

I'm on oracle 10G and OS Sparc.

I was looking for information on how to claim the space after drop / truncate a table.

A.) I checked on the net but I can't test (not available db Dev), I'm looking for your suggestion:
1. drop table tablename purge;
2. drop table tablename;
3. truncate table tablename reuse storage;   --> drop table tablename;
One of above will reclaim space?
B.)
Also , I have to purge the sys.aud$ table since its getting filled. Will doing truncate table sys.aud$ release the used tablespace ?

  • Black on opposite corners of picture after having dropped the camera

    I have an EOS 6 d with a 24-105mm lens. I dropped everything so that cross a road in the middle of a two-week vacation and it bounced around a bit but has been virtually blown off. When vacation finished and I looked at all the 2,500 photos on the computer, about 15 of them have been simply like the one below - two dark corners in front of the other. After these 15 photos with dark corners, there is no recurrence in one of the photos. I don't seem to remember take off the lens and put it back on again about a day after I dropped the camera. Someone knows what are the black corners? I have nothing to fear in the long term?

    Looks like as the sun visor turned a bit (just a bit of loose).  You probably correctly tightened later.

    These lens hoods petal protrude further on the top and the bottom on the sides because more of the image of the round lens gets thrown on top.  If you fail to turn it completely around until it clicks with the long petals at the top and at the bottom you will see little bit catty corner black shadows, whose petals appear in the image.

    When I opened my 35mm Sigma at Christmas, I jumped the hood on and took some shots. I thought that the lens was defective because it looked like your shot above, but I had actually just not enough tightened the hood all the way to the click.

  • Index rebuild required after truncate the table and load data

    Hello

    I have a situation that we truncate tables bit and then we loaded data [only content] on these tables. What you need to rebuild the index online is necessary or not?

    And another question is if we drop a few clues is the total amount of space is released or not. And re-create indexes will use the same amount of space. As I don't have disk space more? In this situation, rebuild the index online will be a better idea...

    Can you please on this...

    truncate the table some the few loading tables + reconstruction markings online is the best (or) droping little tables, a few tables loading + re-create the index is better

    Can you suggest the best way... We have a time that it currently we don't have enough space on the disk... [Option should not effect the space]

    user13095767 wrote:
    Ok. I have it...

    u want to say if we disbale the index while loading... Next, we need to spend the time to build.

    If the indexes are enabled, then rebuild again is not necessary after loading tables...

    Please answer if my understanding is correct...

    above is correct

    >

    If so, how abt the differences in the space occupied by the spaces of storage during the index rebuild and re-create... T he acquires more space if recreate us [deletion and creation] or rebuild online is preferable to an index...?

    space used is the same for all options.

  • Simple? How do you want 'INSERT' function to return the empty space after a field?

    All,

    I just have a PET of brain? I have a situation where I have a field that must return a single space, with a value that has a space before and after it.

    Example:

    In the text == > I'm < field > go to the office. <-notice no space between the two am, < field > and will

    I mean if set to FALSE, then "I am * not * going to the office."
    If true, then "I go to the office."

    If it is true, I am just RETURN(""); <-this returns a blank space

    If FALSE, I tried:

    RET = 'no '.
    RETURN ("" & ret & "");

    This property returns "I am notgoing to UNRWA. <-don't notice any empty space after the 'no '?

    I tried

    RET = 'no ';
    RET2 = ("" & ret);
    RETURN (Insert (ret2, 3, ""));

    Always the same result. What is strange, that is, if I do a RETURN (Insert (ret2, * 2 *, "")); then he comes back "I'm not tgoing to office" <-note the space between the "o" and the "t"?

    Ideas?

    I forgot about it. Depending on which version you use, DAL actually supported a function that will make the hard space for you, like this:

    Val = FLOAT (160) & 'not' & CHAR (160)
    Return (Val)

    Only solution is umount the point of editing or the db bounce. It is because of 'SEMAPHORE '.

    Semaphores are sharable resources who take a non-negative integer value. They are manipulted by the P (waiting) and V (signal) functions that decrement and increment the semaphore, respectively. When a process needs a resource, a "waiting" is issued and the semaphore is decremented. When the semaphore contains a value of zero, the resources are not available and the calling process turns or blocks (if applicable) until resources are available. When a process opens a resource controlled by a semaphore, it increments the semaphore and the waiting process are advised.

  • How can I delete all but 2015 to 2016 nigh (ios10.0.2) iPhone photos to free up space, after synchronizing all photos on my Mac (Yosemite 10.10.5)?

    How can I remove all but 2015 to 2016 photos from my iPhone (ios10.0.2) for free space, after synchronizing all the photos on my mac (Yosemite 10.10.5) computer?

    The fastest way I can think of would be to go to the Albums, go to all the Photos tab, highlight the photo you want to delete and press 'Select' in the upper right corner. Place your finger on the first complete line, you want to remove (if you have pictures that do not have a complete row that you want to remove these institutions, select them individually first), slide your finger on the line so that they are all selected, and then slide up so that it starts automatically at your old photos of scrolling. Once the photos you want to delete are selected, press the trash in the lower right. This will move them to your album "Recently deleted", then they will be always on your phone for 30 days, unless you remove them. If you are sure that you have already backed up these photos and does not accidentally still photos you want, feel free to remove them.

    My M30X 111 died after about 15 sec after power upward. The blue light comes on, the fan starts and then turns off & the dies machine - however, the blue switch remains on. Then I have to keep the power button up to swith off the machine.

    I can't go as far as the BIOS and it does not start from CD, etc.

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Hello

    The laptop goes to home Toshiba screen?
    If yes there is no hardware malfunction but perhaps something wrong with the software.

    You suggested that it of not possible to enter the BIOS. How have you tried to get into the BIOS?
    As far as I know, this unit uses a Phoenix BIOS so you must press the F2 key immediately after switching on. Press the "F2" key several times to make sure that the option has been enabled.

    The alternative to boot from the CD/DVD drive is using the C key. The same procedure here: press the C key immediately after starting the laptop.
    (the CD must be inserted before you start)

  • Create the Project File Name Prefix makes space after prefix

    I am creating a project template.  I noticed that when I put in the file name prefix it prefixes all my screws with this value MORE space.  I like the prefix but do not want the space.  Does anyone know how to make sure that when it renames all the screws it does not insert space after the preifix?

    See attachment.

    Thanks for any direction on it.

    Add the following in your LabVIEW INI file token:

    NewProjectNoAddedSpaceOnPrefix = TRUE

    This will prevent the dialog box create a project to add the namespace for the prefix.

  • How can I change the default settings of the line spacing in Word Pad to: unique, space no space after a paragraph

    I need to change the default line spacing values to: simple space and NO space after a point, but it doesn't seem to be a way for that.
    Thanks for the tips.

    Press Ctrl + A to select your entire file, and then click the paragraph Options (the button at the bottom right in the paragraph on the Home tab group).  Uncheck "Add 10pt space after paragraphs."

    To create new documents this setting is already selected, follow these steps:
    1 - Create a new empty file, then follow the steps above to disable the spacing option.
    2 - save the file in the folder C:\Windows\ShellNew with a file name as "new WordPad file.
    3 - follow the steps on this support page to create a link from the context menu to create a new file based on this template: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/140333
    4. whenever you want to create a file with this option already set, just right-click on your desktop or in a folder and choose New > WordPad file.

  • Muse white space after the body, but before the page footer

    I just changed with almost a complete rewrite of my site and published it in http://www.lowerphotography.com and all is well except for the HOME page. The change was to take advantage of the new sensitive design which is very neat. Before the change of the HOME page was fine. I watched other observations of white space and made sure everything looked good... not hidden things that I could find. The master page works on all pages of the site. But the HOME page after the body and before the footer has this big white/background space after footer. I don't think it's in the master page as it works for all pages I can say. The homepage has texts and pictures on it and a link to another site. But nothing shows that the cause for me. With all the time I've spent on this site a little "bug" which is just a pain trying to get the HOME page to look really good. Suggestions please?

    You can try the solutions in the following positions?

    How to get rid of white space above the footer of Muse

    White spaces that I couldn't get rid of before the footer...
