  We are modernizing Essbase in windows since version 7.1.6 to 9.3.1 platform. Now my question is what is the best way to do that, as first upgrading to 9.2 then 9.3.1 or completely uninstall and reinstall the version 9.3.1 directly? In Essbase 9.3.1 application is rebuilt from scratch, so we thought to stick with the second option IE 7.1.6 to uninstall and reinstall 9.3.1. But now we have other applications that must be replicated from 7.1.6 to 9.3.1 an app frame. We heard that we must follow the path of upgrade first to 9.2, then in 9.3.1. Is this true? !!

  personally, I would be completely uninstall, make sure that all the elements of the old version have disappeared, so check the registry and environment variables have been removed. Then install the 9.3.1.
  As it seems as you are going to use the same server, then for the applications that you want to migrate upward all objects (outlines, scripts of calc, rules, reports), export the data.
  So if you want to export security and filters, then I would look using the essbase (free utility) Advanced Security Manager. Then rebuild the applications once the new environment has been built.

• Question about hidden images and selection

  Hello. Let's say I put an image on a page, then it hidden with a smaller shape - a circle. During the layout I would an image like that hidden to be selectable only in the unmasked area (selectable basically just inside the circle). Is it achievable? Currently, every time I fly over the hidden region of the masked group gets highlighted, and it's very annoying when trying to select a specific hidden group out of several, which are nearby.

  There are dirty destructive work, with the selected clipping mask:

  (1) in the drop-down list the palette/Panel transparency list select everything except Normal (Multiply is fine; this step may not be necessary in your version, you can try without him).

  I see no problem with the creation of six separate documents and placing them in every panel of the 8.5 X 11 trifold. • Questions about N3024 switch by default - originate BGP

  Here is the configuration of the two switches.  I set up and rising BGP, passing of prefixes.  I want 1 switch to send a default gateway to switch 2 and have the default installation of command on the next statement are created.  I don't see the 0.0.0.0 route by default in the show ip bgp sum command, but which is detailed in the configuration guide.  However, I don't see a default route 0.0.0.0 in the routing table for switch 2 at all and an error message that there is no default route available.  Would I be missing here?

  I have a problem where the best path to a particular destination is removed by BGP.

  To explain.

  Site A has 2 links to site B. 1 via a peer eBGP on MPLS, 2 via an iBGP during a backup VPN peer.

  I configured the ebgp with a higher weight counterpart so that it is preferred.

  The problem is the following.

  When the ebgp peer link goes down, the connection via the ibgp peer is preferred.

  When the link via the ebgp peer returns to the top, the path of the ebgp peer doesn't come back in the BGP table (in fact it dates back to a second and is then removed).

  This looks exactly like a race condition.  You have know control if the control terminal is first in reading or the local variable is written to the first.

  1. to help with the confusion about the DUMP function: index realizes that the DUMP function can be performed in the remote database. Oracle tries to push as many functions as possible and semantically correct on the remote site. Therefore, it sends the statement of simple table on the remote site after stripping the DB link. In this case, the DUMP function sees the character set of the remote database and creates the resulting string of information. This string of AL32UTF8 to EE8MSWIN1250, as described in the note, but as all the characters in the string of information are pure ASCII, some codes are actually changed.

  Things get more interesting if you start to combine the tables of local and remote databases. For example, the following query is will normally return the character of local database defined for the two columns:

  select dump(xx,1016),dump(yy,1016) from (select x.dummy xx, y.dummy yy from dual x, dual@dblink y);
  

  This is because the first dual@dblink is transported to the local site and the join is performed here with application of DUMP.

  The following query returns the set for two columns of characters in remote database:

  This is because all the tables are remote and the entire query is sent to the remote database and y.

  The following query returns the remote character set thus:

  Here, the DRIVING_SITE hint asks the database to perform the join in the database of the table, for example dual@dblink.

  Your understanding of the way of conversion is generally correct, but conclusions are not quite correct. In the scenario [client EE8ISO8859P2, EE8MSWIN1250 local database, remote database AL32UTF8], Eastern and Central European characters will work correctly, but the other characters to the remote database will not be (for example, French, Greek, Chinese). Therefore, always define a database as EE8MSWIN1250, even if you run some clients (Unix) with EE8ISO8859P2. • Questions about Stor.e TV +.

  Does anyone have a contact point to raise a complaint about the lack of service from Toshiba? I spent £160 on a TV + Stor.e and did have some problems with it, as you can see from the few posts that I raised. After spending £160 on a point I don't understand why if the forum is the only option to support what he is no Toshiba engineers on this issue, who are able to answer my questions. I do not expect a 24 / 7 hotline for £160 I spent, but it would be good to know that a Toshiba engineer could answer my questions about their products.   As you probably already seen here it s a user to only user forum. This means that you can speak with normal people like you and me and there is no official support from Toshiba.

  Just give the guy a call and explain your situation. I'm sure they can give you a detailed answer and if your TV Stor.e + must be repaired or not. When warranty hardware repair is free.
