Question about updated driver XP - Vista

Is it possible to update the BIOS and drivers for windows Vista compatible even if the operating system is always Windows XP?
What are the incompatibility? If there is any.

Hello

to explain it to you:

Yes you can update your BIOS for compatibility with Vista. No, you cannot update your drivers on windows xp because they won´t work under XP. Windows XP is a completely different operating system with a COMPLETELY different architecture.

Thus, the drivers for Vista can be installed only on Vista. I could take a deeper level of explanation, but since I say this to you as a software programmer you can believe it or not. ;)

Just update your BIOS to compatible Vista, install Vista, and then install the appropriate drivers.

That's all.

Welcome them

  • Satellite X 200-219: Question about updating the display driver?

Sad tales I've heard talk about manufacturers of laptop never updated to gfx card drivers apply to toshiba?

Any info on the question of whether an update for their SLi systems drivers display is on the horizon?

    see you soon-

The fact is that display driver cannot be updated daily as for desktop computers. Priority by the manufacturers of cell phones is worrying about the operation of the equipment. Using new graphics card drivers will be forced to run faster and better that offers better graphics performance. The result is essentially an overheating and may end with a faulty graphics card.

In this case, the card mother together must be exchanged and it costs a lot of money. So, I think that no one can say with certainty when the next pilot will be available.

  • Satellite A100-599 - question about updating the display driver

    Hello

I have a Satellite A100-599 with a NVIDIA 7600go graphics card and I like most of you Bioshock game crashes because of some problems with the graphic card drivers, no pb... Meanwhile, NVIDIA has released some new patches for the Forceware and after I double checked the database of the Toshiba driver support I've seen a new version in the list of display driver for WinXp.

One of them seems to be 13/09/2007. I have downloaded the drivers, installed them and then I checked the details of the driver in the Device Manager list and to my surprise the details say that the drivers are since 2006. I reinstalled the drivers and the same thing appeared. I checked the XML that was in archive of drivers and surprise... the drivers really are the 'old' of 2006. So my question is this: you have the display drivers for my model that work for Bioshock :D

    Best regards, Marian

I Don t know if we. I think it would be took a long while to ask every single user: Hey, you have a few drivers for blackmodjo? Ah, come on, please. Some of them... ;)

No, I have a better idea. It s like to cook a meal. Ingredients: DriverCleaner Pro and the www.laptopvideo2go.com site and... your your your TAAA patience

To get a good 'bio' meal shocked just follow this recipe:

    Reach
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
read before doing anything (YES, even before you continue to BREATHE) the FAQ section on this site (RECOMMENDEDRECOMMENDEDRECOMMENDED)
and then download the drivers. Do it, Yes...

Then download drivercleaner by searching on www.google.com and THEN read their manual before doing anything else (Ok, you can continue to breathe..)
After reading the manual you will be something like:

    1. program start, do something, restart the machine
    2. start in safe mode, from this program, deleting... yadayadayada
    3. install the new driver
    3. reading of Bioshock
    4...
    5. No... 6 thank. me and give me your first born... ;)

So by cutting about 40% of my humorous things and following the constructive technical instructions from me, you will be able to play bioshock.

    Welcomes :)

Use Vista Home premium 32-bit with service pack visat

Noticed last night I had 4 updates to download and install, 2 for Office 2007, then the Outlook Update spam, then for July's malicious software removal tool. Seems that it took a good 15-20plus minutes for updates download and install. Noticed when I checked several times, it seems to still be in the 3rd installation item which was the malicious software removal tool. Finally finished installing it took like 20 minutes

also he told me to restart. Do youhave to restart after the installation and download?

Software removal tool malicious downloads & scans. If nothing is found, it just "goes."

  • Question about hard drive storage on Satellite Pro L40

I have a Satellite Pro L40. Memory hard drive seems to be divided into two (about 35 GB each) under Vista C and e of data.
Vista C is almost full. How can I use/access the E-data memory?

    Hi Bart

Please don't get me wrong, but your question is really strange. I mean after reading your post, I'm really interested in your PC knowledge and how long you use your laptop.

You want to know is basic stuff and must be learned first when you start using computers.
When you have the time to try to get some book on WXP or Vista and all know about operating systems and how to use them.

Open Windows Explorer, and you will have direct access to the second partition. You can move files from C to D, or save all data directly on the D partition.

Google a bit. You can find many Web pages on basic stuff to the use of operating system.

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c: Question about tools Toshiba and Vista's Windows HotStart

    Hello

I just bought the Toshiba Notebook Satellie P200 - 17 c and I have a couple of questions which I hope you can answer in this forum?

    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/JSP/productPage.do?service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=132332&Toshib aShop = true

    1. under "Bundled software" at the link above, it says that the 'Toshiba value added"is included, but I do not see this CD/DVD in the box. (My Equium L10 was a value added CD in the box).

    The Toshiba user manual
Norton Internet Security 2007 (including updates of free Internet for 90 days)
    Ulead DVD MovieWriter for TOSHIBA
    * Toshiba value added package *.
    Supervisor password utility
    Toshiba Assist
    Toshiba Speech System
    Chicony Camera Assistant Software
    Toshiba DVD player
Microsoft Works 8.5 (with Office home and Student 2007 trial version)
    Toshiba Disc Creator
    Connectivity doctor
    ConfigFree

Why is the Value Added Package not included and what exactly is included on the CD/DVD for the P200 - 17 c? I'm not too sure if I have all this either. I.e. ConfigFree, connectivity, Toshiba Assist etc doctor, but I check over the next hours and after return.

    2. under "Features", he mentions:

    * Microsoft Windows HotStart for instant-on entertainment *.

But I don't see any reference to this in the manual of the owner and its operation. Can anyone help here please?

    3. what CD/DVD writing software is included? I'm looking for something like Roxio or Nero, utilities that I can use to create data and discs with audio and also, burn ISO files, but I see is Toshiba DiskcCreator.

I have no doubt that I'll have a few more questions once I have a good look around the laptop and will post back, but is it for now.

I would appreciate a response from someone, but as a direct comparison, especially those of the user who already have, or have purchased the P200 - 17 c.

The added value of Toshiba package is a collection of applications Toshiba unique like TOSHIBA, TOSHIBA Power Saver components common driver, utility password of TOSHIBA, TOSHIBA Flash Cards, etc.

Applications of this are already installed on the image of Toshiba which is placed on the Toshiba Recovery CD.

    > Microsoft Windows HotStart for instant / entertainment
As much I know Windows Hotstart in the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system offers built-in support for launch applications directly from the system startup.
Manufacturers can take advantage of Windows HotStart to add buttons to access favourable to consumers through panels application front of the chassis.
In your case, what are the control of Toshiba for example buttons.

    > What CD/DVD writing software is included?

There should be a preinstalled tool called Toshiba Disc creator.
The use of this too, you can create original audio CDs, data CDs and DVDs and backup of CD and DVD discs

  • Questions about updates on IMac

    I've not updated Imac

with Yosemite, I have before El Capitan?

No, you can go directly to El Capitan assuming that your Mac meets the specifications

    https://support.Apple.com/kb/SP728?locale=en_US

In General, you should always pass to the last possible system like you meet the specs for, as long as you do not have "must have" applications that do not meet specifications. The idea that the updates/updates cause problems is probably derived from discussions that see you here. ASC is like an emergency room for people to have problems, especially the sick, those who come here. Not the hundreds of thousands of people pass without difficulty, never here and go merrily on their way. In addition to the improved features, updates/improvements important security fixes.

Things you should do before moving...

    1. backup copy. Anything can happen at any time, so you should always keep a good backup. Make a bootable clone SuperDuper! or clone double or use TimeMachine.

    2. If you have questions on your current system don't their compound by installing above them. Solve them first, and then upgrade.

3 control of HARD drive for free space. At least 8.8 GB of available storage. Preferably more.

    4. check your applications for compatibility here... http://roaringapps.com/apps.

    5. unplug all devices, including USB hubs.

    6. After downloading the installer, it will be in the folder/Applications. Duplicate and drag the copy to other locations it download so if you want to save the installer.

7 be patient, the download takes a long time, and the installation may appear as sometimes it is dead. Ignore it.

  • Portege R700-1hd: Questions about HARD drive replacement and passwords

I have a 1hd R700 with 320 GB HARD drive in stock. I want to upgrade it to 500 GB. This update should be pretty simple, cloning from the old to the new.

However, I was wondering about the HARD drive password / finger.
My HARD drive it configured to use a fingerprint/password on boot - I guess that it is involved in the BIOS and the drive itself, but I'm not exactly sure how.
I think the HARD drive itself is locked, it is not a Windows or BIOS password.

If I change the HARD drive will still be able to use startup disk HARD password/fingerprint? Are there requirements for material of HARD drive I need to consider before buying new HARD drive? As should be a specific type of HARD drive to work with password disk HARD/fingerprint digital?

    Thank you

    Hi bullerd,

The HARD drive password is stored on the HARD drive so when you replace the HARD drive you must set a new password of HDD in BIOS. The password is not stored in the BIOS. In addition fingerprints can also be stored on the HARD drive or let s say fingerprint digital software but all of the operating system must be installed after Exchange HARD drive so it s new problem.

So the two passwords you mentioned are stored on the HARD drive so it s no problem to swap the HARD drive. :)

  • Question about the installation of Vista on Tecra A8

    Hi all

I bought today TOSHIBA Tecra A8.
My question is when in the future, I'll have to reinstall vista how can I do?
Installation is automatic when I start my PC.
Is there a folder or an option to save the installation procedure on a cd or a dvd?

You can do this very easily. Branded WXP running the BIOS update first. After doing this use the Vista CD/DVD facilities and install Vista operating system. The last step is to install all the stuff from Toshiba (drivers, tools and utilities). All these things you can find on the download page of Toshiba.

  • Question about updating the BIOS for Qosmio G20

I downloaded the updated the BIOS of my pc, not the Qosmio, the instructions say it will unpack into 3 files, one being a floppy disk installation. When I unzip on my desktop pc, it makes a file that s too big for a floppy and he won t unzip further because it locks up my pc.

Is it safe to make it work on my desktop pc it can unzip then in the three files and this will affect my BIOS or y at - it somewhere that I can download the floppy part on its own to load on a floppy?

    Hello

    Just a question;
You have downloaded the Qosmio G20 BIOS on the desktop computer, unpacked and now you want it please on the diskette in the floppy drive.
    Is this good?

    So now my suggestion;
Firstly that the Qosmio G20 BIOS and other BIOS Toshiba cannot be updated using the floppy! This isn't traditional BIOS!
The BIOS from the Toshiba page must be updated when the Windows operating system is running!

By the way: you can unpack the BIOS on your desktop computer, but don t try to run all files, because the bad BIOS can damage the motherboard ROM module!

  • Satellite L30: A few questions about the change from Vista to Win XP

My satellite L30 has Vista Home Basic preinstalled, but I decided that Vista is still a little slow & buggy and would like to change to WinXP Pro. I have 2 questions-

    1. a change to XP will extend the battery performance? (currently 1 h with no wifi I think it's pretty poor)

    2. I intend to reformat the hard drive for all the hidden partitions will be lost. If I decide to go back to Vista, at a later date I will be able to reinstall using the "upgrade" dvd that came with my computer? I think I'm wrong in saying that this dvd contains a full version of Vista, but I wonder if my serial number still working?

    Thank you

    Hello

If you bought the L30 with Vista operating system preinstalled, then I presume that you have received also the Toshiba Vista recovery CD.
The Vista on the recovery CD is already enabled and you don't need to enter keys t.

Regarding your battery question: well as you know the battery working time depends on the use of the laptop. Performance heavy on the laptop running decreases the life of the battery. It is a fact.

But you assume the Vista needs of more resources for laptop as the XP and the Vista operating system wastes more energy than other operating systems.
I think if you install XP on the laptop, you should be able to work with the battery a little longer as with Vista.

  • Question about updating the BIOS and drivers

    Hello

First time user. How will I know if I need to update bios and drivers? I don't want to go crashing my system, just because Toshiba say these items are available for my laptop! They were probably in the updates of windows?

    Help, please.

    Hi Andy

    Welcome to our small community
First a little advice you should always write the name of your laptop.

OK now, to you in general I have a question would not recommend to update anything if you laptop and operating system is stable and you don t have problems.
Of course the update of the driver is not risky, but I would only run updates some compatibility problems with 3rd party software or hardware appears.

The update of the BIOS is risky. Wrong or bad BIOS update procedure could damage the ROM module on the map. So be careful.
