Question about Vista and EyeQ CD program compatibiliby

I have a Compaq laptop with Windows Vista and I can buy an EyeQ CD program for Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, and NT 4.0 and higher. Will it work?

Contact the manufacturer of the program.

http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx

Windows Vista Compatibility Center

First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/

If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.

This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.

See you soon.

If your question is only about the performance analysis,

    Hello

As you know, this laptop model is certainly not support Vista and Toshiba will design all the Vista drivers for this model of laptop. I can imagine that Vista works very well, but without the right drivers, it is not easy to use certain hardware components.

I recommend you to use Windows XP Home edition. WXP works great on this laptop. For all tests, you can install Vista on the second partition to see how it works. I think right after a few weeks remove you Vista and use WXP as before. ;)

So, followed by all as should be. The prompt update from apple was quick time, iTunes and airport, I checked all and then updated. Then I loaded office 2010 and obtained throughout the process from the Microsoft site. On the last part of the installation, the installation failed due to a mistake of hanging iTunes. These are forums for Vista, and you have Windows 8.

I'm moving your question on the Forums of Windows 8.

XP, Vista and Windows 7, Windows Defender is an Anti-Spyware application and Norton disables that Norton has its own Anti-spware application and advocate the 2 would cause problems if they ran together.

BUT in Windows 8, Windows Defender is an anti-virus program and you should not install Norton as well.

Only have AN anti-virus program installed.

  • Question about snapshots and virtual machines

    Hi all

I have a small question about snapshots. I use VMware for about 6 months and I read about snapshots and how they work but still have a question to make sure that I understand how it works and it will work the way I think it works.

I have a Windows 2003 server, which is a virtual machine. I have an application that uses MSDE database. I want to upgrade the database to MS SQL 2005, but to do this I need to back up the MSDE database, uninstall MSDE, and then install SQL 2005 and move the SQL database. This happens on the same VM.

What I was thinking if I well Snapshots correctly is to snap turned the virtual machine before doing anything. Then do my upgrade steps and see if everything works. If its all messed up so I should be able to return to my shot and everything should be the way he had. What is the good? One of the main reasons I moved the server VM was because of this upgrade.

After reading the documentation for the snapshots, it's how I undestood it. Pretty much any change could be reversed with snapshots. I wish just they had put in a few examples in the PDF file. Also it would be the same for all type of grades of the OS? Could I snapshot a Windows 2000 Server, and then "in the upgrade of the square" to Windows 2003? I've cloned a VM to do this but was curious about whether snapshots would be just as easy.

    Thanks for your help.

    That is right.

Exactly the same thing for the upgrades of the OS.

Perhaps the most important thing with the snapshots is to keep an eye on them and don't let them sit too long or become too big.  You have described the use cases are very good uses for snapshots.  Just make sure you have a solid plan with a schedule set, so that you can come back or validate changes before the snapshot becomes too large.

    Good luck!

  • Question about Vista upgrade and using Vista on my laptop

My first post so Hello. I'm in North Ireland and just basically competent so keep this in mind if you answer my question below :)

Need some advice on the Vista program upgrade. I am a resident in the United Kingdom and my laptop is an Equium A100-147. I got got a confirmation online and posted number is + a copy of the receipt of purchase to one address in the Netherlands. Also displayed payment (£16,53) at a different address in the Netherlands.

I want to know is the disc I receive an 'upgrade' disc or a full version with an option of a 'complete installation', but also an upgrade? Also if I do an upgrade or a full install and decide that Vista is not to my likeing running recovery disks provided with the laptop will return its supplied as original state? It would be XP MCE.

Vista will have all the necessary drivers for my laptop hardware work or I'm likely to have to install drivers after upgradeing or Vista installation?

    Thanks in advance... John

For most Windows upgrades are complete windows versions. This means that you can do a clean install. During the new installation the installation program will ask for the old cd and check it. That's all.

Of course, it is possible to return your laptop in the State of origin with the old recovery disks.

  • Protégé M200: Question about Vista TPM and the Bitlocker

You want to know if I have a TPM chip to launch bitblocker on the M200 using Vista. Just call Toshiba Technical Support - the guy was totally distraught!

If I don't have a TPM chip, then I can install it?

    Hello

It is a good question. To my knowledge the Portege M200 does not support TPM but the Portege M400, R400 module and the R200

But the Bitlocker, which is only available on the Vista Enterprise and ultimate can also be used without the TPM chip but then some functions are not available; for example, the SecureBoot.
Without TPM only the OS volume encryption is available.
In this case you can encrypts the entire Windows volume including both data and file system user, the file of hibernation, the page file and the temporary files.

Using volume of BONE (HDD) encryption an encryption key will be generated. This key will be written to the USB and then the USB is required!

AFAIK the Bitlocker requires 2 partitions. A partition must be created as needs at least 50 MB primary partition. I recommend a? about 1.5 GB
The second big partition Vista can be installed.

After the installation of Vista the Bitlocker must be enabled in Group Policy (units without secure TPM). This can be done using the command 'gpedit '.
And then under models of administration-> windows components-> Bitlocker bitlocker function can be activated!

Anyway, there is much information Bitlocker and I think you should also consult the Microsoft Web site for more information:
BitLocker Windows Drive Encryption step-by-step guide

    I hope I could help a little

  • Satellite A350 - Question about RAM and Vista 32 bit - 64 bit

I bought a Satellite A350 Tiger Direct. He moved with Windows Vista 32 bit.
It is capable in my view up to 8 GB of Ram. Vista 32 bit does support 3.

All reviews on this laptop online say that it came with 64-bit and 400 GB of memory.
Mine came with only 230 GB of memory and 32 bit vista. I ran Belarc advisor, and he tells me that my computer is 64-bit ready.

Is this true? Why is - this me came not with Vista 64 bit?
I want to upgrade my ram but with 32 bits, which is not possible and according to Microsoft you cannot update 32-bit to 64-bit.
So should I buy Vista 64-bit upgrade? (for around 300 euros!). Is this in any way about this?

What are my options? I want 4 GB of Ram or more really bad...

What Satellite A350 do you have exactly?

    AFAIK the most recent series of Toshiba laptop pre-installed a dual operating system;
In this case, you can choose between Vista 32-bit or 64-bit.

To obtain the 64-bit, you will need to restart the laptop and have to press F8.
Here you must choose the option to fix my computer. Then select Toshiba HDD recovery and finally, you should see the option which would be you can toggle between the 32 and 64 bit.

Usually the Vista 32 bit supports 3.2 GB RAM.
Only the 64-bit Vista will be able to recognize 4 GB and more.

  • Two questions about SP1 and Vista startup

    Hi all
    two questions:

    (1) I understand that if I want SP1 on my machine, I have to install manually, because it is not included in the automatic update routines?

    (2) my machine failed yesterday, I received a message "unable to start Windows. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. "The only thing I can think is that before turning off the previous time, I inserted a USB hard drive to copy the files on it. But I continued to work normally on the machine. Another unusual event, it is the day before, it was very slow to start, so afer it finished start, I restarted.

When the system could not start, I tried several times, automatic procedures that always ended with "windows cannot resolve the issue automatically,
Contact your service provider. In the last attack, I also clicked on a 'Advanced tab' and restored the system, but it does not solve the problem. Then, this morning I turned on the machine again to write the exact error I have, and message instead, unexpectedly (and rather willingly), the machine starts normally. So, what could happen? Should I get my machine (which is less than one month) verified?
    Thank you!

    Paola

    Hi polla.

    (1) Yes, Yes. You must download and install SP1 manually.

    (2) No, I'm Don t think that you should check. I would say: work with it and if the error appears, back up all your data and restore complete your system, so you can exclude any type of software problem...

  • Question about phone and / or Android 1.5

I have a question or a statement that needs confirmation. If someone could be good enough to help out I'd appreciate it.

I am a heavy Texter and text on a daily basis, probably an average of about 250 + texts per day. Also, I noticed and I took County, after about 4 hours of texting the android keyboard and also the swype keyboard, affecting the time key to key response starts to slow down and get slow and ultimitely is unbearable to the text with. Even with the home screen and sliding screens from left to right, and as I said it doesn't happen only after some hours of use of the phone. So, I have to restart the phone and repeat for it keep to become lazy and unbearable to text with. I usually reset every morning or when I wake up. This is nothing compared to my sisters Mytouch, which is in fact older than my phone, it can affect his day at the time and not get done with the delayed touch response. I also noticed that his phone is running Android 1.6.

Now my concern is, if I'm the only one knows this or is it due to a defective phone. What is the Android obsolete 1.5 that many people are talking about who is performing on the phone in this way.

Basically, it's because of 3 things.

    1. history - more history, more than it takes to load. (If you wipe all messages and try again, you'll see what I mean)

2 android 1.5 - don't know what the reason, but even on 1.6 devices SMS language delay is AVERAGE less.

3 Swype - if you have enabled, it tends trolling more than the default android.

It is not your phone, it's all phones Cliq/Cliq XT... 1.5 hate text messaging.

In addition, your phone will work more effectively without a task manager. They are nice to have if you need something CF or to extend the life of the battery (no), it actually takes your phone like some processes that would otherwise, and you also have the risk of frost on the phone all together because some group programs are essential and cause the home screen all recharged after their closure. I would like to refer to this site in order to better explain.

  • (Redirected) Question about backup and by default

Asked me to back up my data system so that Dell Technical Support Engineer (Harry) to do a restore from my PC to the factory default. Other less intrusive methods that he tried to engineer were not enough to solve my problems. This gives, I have a technical question. Can I use the Dell system programs and backup data on a USB hard drive? I guess the answer is Yes, however, my concern is that if the PC is returned to the factory, probably a copy of the restore process image, then, if I'm running Dell system programs and restore data Back-Up, this process could put the files corrupt system which caused problems and we're back where we started? Please advise on how this backup process should be done. I've always backed up my data, but never had to go through this process.

    Hi Rayk18,

  • Question about Vista Recovery CD Toshiba

I don't know why laptops Toshibas are sold with this kind of installation disc.
If something happens and the system needs to be reinstalled then whole hard disk will be deleted. And also what it installs this Norton Internet Security? Not everyone likes it.
It would be much better to sell just the cd with system and cd with drivers separately.

P.S. y at - it a repair utility for this backup cd which will not remove HD set. Where is boot loader Editor?
I have spent many hours trying to run XP and Vista on dual boot before I succeed.

[Edited by: admin on June 17, 2007 08:08]

    Hello

Why you're so angry shouting at them? I Don t understand it. You know, there are 100,000 customers and machines and noone of them had a problem with this recovery system.

To these people like you, who are dissatisfied with their handling and their marketing, they release the drivers on their site so you can get a separate operating system
AS YOU WOULD LIKE and then you can install it as you need.
Regarding Norton: If you don t like it, uninstall it and the problem is solved. And how do you know, people like him or not. Maybe not everyone's a computerfreak like you,
There are some people that they don t know not even how to install an operating system, and they are happy to have something delivered to their BONES "factory-installed" who cares about the security of the system.

If you are more familiar with computers, just install the system and make individual for you. I think that toshiba has nothing to do with, when you don t get the thing LIKE YOU HAVE is in your view.

So I Don t want to offend you, I want to show you, this toshiba must produce for the masses, and they give the geeks like us a limited chance to create an individual system on our machine.
