Question/design architecture with best practices?

Question/design architecture with best practices?

Should I have separate Web server, weblogic application and IAM?
If yes that how this time will communicate, for example can I webgate on the server that will communicate to each other?
Any reference to decide how to design and if I have weblogic separate one for enforcement and one for IAM that how session management will take place etc.

How is general design happens IAM project?

Help appreciated.
I have a business web application deployed on weblogic1 and OHS1

deploy webtier on this OHS1 to protect the resources on OHS1. webtier will be recorded at OAM (where will be able to communicate with OAM)

I also IAM deployed on weblogic2 & OHS2

IAM components have weblogic. then ok. But you don't need to ohs2 here, unless your application itself requires OHS for hosting. But here, you mention that it is fair to IAM - so no need to OSH here. IAM installing requires weblogic.

wanted to know where should I create provider (weblogic1 or weblogic2), and install webgate (OHS1 or OHS2 or both)?

I hope it is clear now. If this isn't the case, query post for what is not clear.

  • design of BPM best practices

    Hello dear Co designers :)

What would be the best practice for desiging the following text:

1 - the user can select the form of distination bifurcation process a drop-down list [departments list | http://forums.oracle.com/forums/] in the form (i.e. routing based on a decision form the form data)

2 - user can add up to 4 departments as an entry which process instance should be routed to.

in other words, I have this delima

3 can I have route the instance for the same role, but with the departments deferential?

for example, I want to only users with role A but under organization unit B in order to see the instance in their Inbox, but users with the role A under other org units do not see?

    is this possible?

You can use parametric roles to achieve this.
You declare an instance variable called department and a parametric role where the parameter is the Department. Participants will be assigned to the role with the specific parameter and the instance variable must be assigned to a service, in this case automatically instances will be routed by Department.

  • background with best practices GUI thread

    Hi all

I need to develop an application with background threads over an o and a graphical user interface easy to access some data from the background to the execution of threads and set some parameters to send to these discussions.

I read on this forum and a few doc in KB, found more or less a strategy:

    1. make the application with an alternative entry point. I start the background thread when the application starts without any argument. When I click on the alternative input I with arg gui, then I have a splash screen.

    2. to push some parameter and to background threads, I use persistent object.

    What is the right way?

Can someone send me some examples, any interesting doc Ko or post?

You seem to have quite right, at least how I would.

You can consider using RuntimeStore as PersistentStore.  PersistentStore allows you to add things to your Threads process and/or save the results so that these data are kept after a failure of the device. If you have things that can get lost or are not Persistable, a shared area of RuntimeStore will also act as an ease of communication between your UI and Threads.

You think about the implementation of a SystemListener in your background Application so that the wires can be turned off when the device is powered off and powered upwards again on restart.

I also find it useful to time to completely stop long discussions and start a new.  This just frees all the resources that the thread may have caught accidentally.

You may need to think about how provide you authorization for background processing.

    Hope this is useful.

  • Best practices for the design of a printing environment?

    Greetings,

If there is a better place for this, please let me know.

    Objective:

Redesign and redeploy my printing environment with best practices in mind.

Overview: VMWare environment running 2008 R2, with about 200 printers. I have a majority of printers HP ranging from 10 years old again. LaserJet MFP, OfficeJets, etc... etc... In addition to the copiers Konica, Xerox and Savin. Many of our models of printer are not taken in charge in 2008, and still less x 64.

Our future goals include services eprint, as well as the desire to manage the print quality, and levels of consumition by something like Web Jetadmin.

Currently we have a 2003 Server x 86 server running our printers very old and 6 months ago the rest on a single x 64 server 2008r2. We ended up not giving it the attention to detail, it is necessary and pilots have become very congested, this led to a PCL6 only, UPD update that ended up corrupting several drivers through the UPD PCL 5 and 6 of the spectrum. At this time, we brought a second server 2008r2 and began to emigrate to those affected. In some cases, we were forced to remove manually the drivers off the customer system32-> coil-> driver and reinstall.

I've not had much luck finding good best practice information and thought I'd ask. Some documents I came across suggested that I should isolate a universal driver to a single server, such as 3 servers for PCL5, PCL6, and Psalm then, there is the need to deal with my various copiers.

I appreciate your advice, thank you!

  • TDMS & Diadem best practices: what happens if my mark has breaks/cuts?

I created a LV2011 datalogging application that stores a lot of data to TDMS files.  The basic architecture is like this:

    Each channel has these properties:

    To = start time

    DT = sampling interval

    Channel values:

Table 1 d of the DBL values

After the start of datalogging, I still just by adding the string values.  And if the size of the file the PDM goes beyond 1 GB, I create a new file and try again.  The application runs continuously for days/weeks, so I get a lot of TDMS files.

It works very well.  But now I need to change my system to allow the acquisition of data for pause/resume.  In other words, there will be breaks in the signal (probably from 30 seconds to 10 minutes).  I had originally considered two values for each point of registration as a XY Chart (value & timestamp) data.  But I am opposed to this principal in because according to me, it fills your hard drive unnecessarily (twice us much disk footprint for the same data?).

Also, I've never used a tiara, but I want to ensure that my data can be easily opened and analyzed using DIAdem.

My question: are there some best practices for the storage of signals that break/break like that?  I would just start a new record with a new time of departure (To) and tiara somehow "bind" these signals... for example, I know that it is a continuation of the same signal.

Of course, I should install Diadem and play with him.  But I thought I would ask the experts on best practices, first of all, as I have no knowledge of DIAdem.

    Hi josborne;

Do you plan to create a new PDM file whenever the acquisition stops and starts, or you were missing fewer sections store multiple power the same TDMS file?  The best way to manage the shift of date / time is to store a waveform per channel per section of power and use the channel property who hails from waveform TDMS data - if you are wiring table of orange floating point or a waveform Brown to the TDMS Write.vi "wf_start_time".  Tiara 2011 has the ability to easily access the time offset when it is stored in this property of channel (assuming that it is stored as a date/time and not as a DBL or a string).  If you have only one section of power by PDM file, I would certainly also add a 'DateTime' property at the file level.  If you want to store several sections of power in a single file, PDM, I would recommend using a separate group for each section of power.  Make sure that you store the following properties of the string in the TDMS file if you want information to flow naturally to DIAdem:

    'wf_xname '.
    'wf_xunit_string '.
    'wf_start_time '.
    'wf_start_offset '.
    'wf_increment '.

  • Place pictures (screenshots) to legends - best practices?

    Illustrator CS6, Windows 7

I am placing screenshots (screenshots of the software) in the files of my work to add captions and create illustrations for a user manual.

The machine I'm capture has a screen resolution at 1920 x 1080 (required for software). I am using Snagit and capture screens, saving files, then place in Illustrator. I am using minimum 300 dpi and never upsizing images in Illustrator. I still think that my results could not be better.

In the past, I used .jpg as my export filetype for placement in Illustrator. But these recent readings of messages in this community lead me to believe that my practice might be defective.

Question: What is considered best practice to place the screenshot images (or any source) in Illustrator? What kind of capture file will get the results of the lighter and more adaptable?

My color mode of Illustrator file is CMYK and my other art and legends supporting the perforated Cap work very well.

I am creating the work for import into Framemaker and create a PDF file for print and online.

I want to say is; What is the user looking at, and what you are training on?

For example, if the application includes part of your documents and medical imaging covers something like the assessment of medical images in the application, it would probably be a scenario much more color-critical application in which the user just displays and manipulates the data.

Generally, you don't need something like 300 PPI for screen captures in documentation of the software. The whole intention is to the image of resemble the screen you document, which is something like 72 or 96 DPI at full size. You can reduce a screenshot as much less 50%, but at this size, the drive shows the text of the application (including the menus, etc.) to half of such size as displayed in the app, which is supposed to be sized for comfortable reading. The sharpness is good. You don't want the images to fade in the pursuit of pointless "resolution."

Also in General, screenshots of the software are not usually colour-critical. Implementation (same sticky of SnagIt) directly in the page layout application is usually very good. PostScript knows how to separate RGB images. These things have been done for a long time before anyone who sweated blood on "color management." Assuming that the interface of your application uses Garish colors (which would be the poor interface design; it's tiring), I dare say that the conversion of RGB to CMYK screenshots to the imagesetter or press would be nice.

How to print manual? Unless you're talking about a large prints of the press, today the software (subject to frequent updates) documentation is often printed on presses on demand (think glorified digital color, photocopiers) presses not leaves. With the documentation of the software, you're talking about aren't usually the collection of coffee table books. (The exception would be something like a book on the color in Photoshop correction; so my first question.)

I always paste screenshots of SnagIt directly into InDesign pages to document software applications and add captions in InDesign. Only when I need some special graphics (plunging arrows, etc.) Assemble the captions for the screenshots in Illustrator; and even when I do that I have usually also paste the SnagIt capture directly to HAVE.

Keep your native legends for better page layout program facilitates language translation, when you need to outsource that.

  • Best practices for setting in RoboHelp to create .chm?

I have Tech Com Suite 2015. I need to make a FrameMaker book .chm file. I tried to do directly from chassis, but was not happy with the results, so I will try to do a RoboHelp project instead.  Can someone help me with best practices to achieve. I would like to than my files related to RoboHelp, so that I don't have to start over if they are updated. I tried to work with it. You can fix things after you import? For example, if I have does not have difficulty cross-references (and delete page for example numbers) in FrameMaker, before the import/lining, what I have to do it again?  I have worked with FrameMaker for quite a long time, but I'm less familiar with RoboHelp. Is there a video or webinar showing how to do this? Or can someone give some tips and things that I should know about this procedure. Thank you

    Hello

    1. the table of contents at the same level:

To create levels of navigation OCD in a table of contents in the output to publish FM, we need to change either the first indent, the property size or weight are.

We determine the level by setting these properties by Tag:

    -First indent,

    -Font Size,

    -Font

by example, so if you want to have titre3 appear inside Title2 like this:

    Titre3

    Title2

In Para designer > properties updated by designer of these 2 tags (Heading2TOC, Heading3TOC):

    -First indent Heading2TOC Heading3TOC more

    - Or font of Heading2TOC less Heading3TOC

    - Or the size of the police of Heading2TOC less Heading3TOC

    2. the option Enable browse sequence allows the navigation arrows. Try to activate the option "activate browse Sequence. (apply the latest Patch, help > updates)

    3. Once you create your table of contents, you will see the title of the chapter begins to appear in the breadcrumbs.

Main effort, you'll need to do, is to create a table of contents leveled once it made should solve the issues you face.

  • Big 2 TB + vm - what is the best practice?

    Hello

Our file server currently uses the measure with a total area of 4 to DS. The virtual machine contains 11 vDisks with sizes ranging from 50 GB to 1.35 to totaling 3.8 TB of data. each vDisk belongs to a division within the company. We are running out of space on the DS, and we need to make changes.

I did read something positive on the use of measurement other than for a short fix.

Question: What are the best practices to go forward get rid us of the widespread use, it has been suggested, we look at DFS or perhaps a new virtual machine intended only for the major divisions.

If we add a new disk and that it points to an another DS on it's own logic unit number, we run into the trouble of storage vMotion, try to group the disc under a store.

I'm sure that there are large organizations out there running in this situation, any guidance is appreciated!

    See you soon

    Brendan

If you need a file server, that SFR might be a solution.

You can use vmdk as well on the same VM, or more file servers.

For other purposes, you can use the junction to mount a drive in a folder.

  • What is the best practice for the double management interfaces?

    Hello community!

I'm upgrading to a few host ESX to ESXi 4.1U1 4.0 in the coming weeks. My question is about how to configure the management networks. Obviously in ESX 4.0 Classic I have a Service Console port (on vSwitch0) group and a group of ports VMkernel (also on vSwitch0) which provides my host with SC and vmotion capabilities, as we all know. Note: my vSwitch0 has two vmnic attached to it, is pending and is active. That's just how we have our double installation of switches, so it must be active / standby.

I got to thinking (book the great from HA and DRS deepdive Duncap Epping and Frank Denneman), that I should consider carefully when my network mangement I improve these hosts to ESXi 4.1 - which of course done away with the Service Console and use the vmkernel instead.

The question is, in which best practices and account with my setup: I have two vmkernel ports? If so, how should I configure each for traffic management and vmotion vmkernel?

I think it will be a good discussion to have.

    Thank you all,

    Matt

The NIC vSwitch0 value active/active, the vswif (and future vmkernel management) team of NIC Active vmnic6 and vmnic1 ensures and leaves the vMotion vmkernel NIC team as is.

This will allow you to use two physical network interface cards at the same time while having a failover plan and keep your physically separate management and vMotion traffic.

    In the end:

    vSwitch: vmnic1 vmnic6 active, active.

VMK (Mgt): active eve of vmnic1 vmnic6.

VMK (vMotion): active standby, vmnic6 vmnic1.

  • update of best practices of folios

    Hello

I have a couple of folios that must be updated every month.  Could someone please help me with best practices for planning the release of the new folio and you ensure that it replaces the old one in the Viewer?

To begin with, in the folio builder Panel, can I create a new folio every month or can I remove items from folio of last month, change its name and keep reusing that?

I'm also a little confused about how to plan a new available for producers of folio.

I would really appreciate hearing how the whole process must be managed, Panel builder folio to folio digitalpublishing.acrobat.com producer

    Thank you!

You're doing a completely new folio for January so that publish in Folio Producer when you want to live for your readers. It replaces the previous edition, he lives next to her. Your readers will be able to see these two questions in your viewer and can choose who they want to download and read.

You can leave the new folio not published in Folio Producer until the day you are interested in to go live and then click on publish. You can also use our new feature of advanced publication date to schedule a date up to 7 days in advance for the folio automatically go live. You will see this option when you click on the button publish on the folio.

  • Separate management / VMotion Best Practice?

We're heading to 4.0 ESX ESXi 4.1.  Our servers have 4 physical Gigabit NIC.

On ESX 4.0, we lack 2 vSwitches:

    vSwitch0

    Service Console - Active vmnic0 - vmnic3 watch

    VMkernel - Active vmnic3 - vmnic0 eve

(Unique network interface cards / IPs by function)

    vSwitch1

Port VM - vmnic1 and vmnic2 active groups

    (Several VLANS to resources shared)

With the changes in ESXi, is recommended to separate the management of VMotion as we did with ESX?  Notice that we use the same subnet for these two functions.

Personally, I would prefer combining Management and VMotion.  VMotion will not only benefit an additional NIC usage, especially with the multiple simultaneous VMotions?  At the same time, it seems not that management traffic would be impeded to the point of needing to separation, as we use the same subnet.  In addition, security should not be a problem, since the new, we use the same subnet for management and VMotion.

Your configuration is consistent with "best practices". I prefer separate management taffic VMkernel myself, even if it will cost me some performances of vMotion.

  • Dimension design best practices

    Hello

I'm about to start a new project!

Do you have ideas on best practices to define dimensions? A presentation or conference will help.

I ask this question because it's kind of a mix between an art and a science.

And the current metadata provided seems to have redundancy on their GL segments.

I don't want to go and map each segment in each dimension, I think it would be counterproductive.

    Thank you for your comments

    Concerning

You may be able to get some advice from the technical point of view by searching online or via the database administrator's guide.

If you want to get this from the functional point of view, you will need professional help. The design will depend entirely on what are the needs of your business.

Only thing I can say is ESSBASE and planning analytical solutions type applications so we shouldn't try to bring in great detail it is there is transactional system.
