Question Lightroom external editor

Hey everybody, after a recent update for Lightroom (latest version) Despite me saying the prefs I want to open this file in Photoshop CC 2014 he continually ignores this and opens the file in the 2015 version - the option is there in the export dialog, but he simply ignores my instructions. Is Adobe trying to discourage us to use the 2014 version now? I really hope not that I need to use the version of 2014 due to the problems of brush healing in 2015 - anyone else seeing this?

Definition of the 'old' version of Photoshop is also simple to add to the list "of additional external editors" in the preferences.

For Ironman - The default Photoshop will be CC2015.6.1 and the 'additional external editor"CC2015.1.2

(or default CC2015 and additional CC2014 in the case of Andy).

When setting up the 'additional external editor"it is important that you choose the appropriate version of 'old' app/exe program file.

When you right-click on a photo and click [Edit-In] you will have two lists for the PS, one for each version.

In the same way, you can create several 'additional external editors"that point all to ch, but with different options for the type of file and profile (for example PSD, TIFF, JPG, etc.)

I have recently moved most of my image containing folders on external hard drive. In general, everything works smoothly in Lightroom (running latest CC). Looks like I solved my problem with Lightroom. I disassembled my external backup drive, but upheld the disk external drive containing the photos up and then restarted my mac. After the reboot, I open Lightroom and chose the image on an external drive for mounting in affinity Photo and Collection of Nik. Both image successfully opened in editors. I reassembled the backup drive and rebooted time machine and repeated the same opening picture in external editors. Once again, works great. Have no idea where the original problem. Looks like a bad path was stored in a config somewhere file.

  • Lightroom spoil the photos when you use the external editor

    Hello world

When I export images to an external editor, Lightroom moves the image and the copy of it at the end of the stack. This is a new phenomenon, generally the image remains in place and the copy is simply attached to it (chronological order). I use Lightroom 5.7, external editors are PSE 14 and affinity Photo. Problem with the two editors as well. No recent update, no change in the settings. Can you help me?

  • Using Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CC as an external editor in LIghtroom

I've recently upgraded to LIghtroom CC and it came bundled with Photoshop CC.  I've always used what to change in the past and now is no longer an option of Lightroom Edit - on the menu drop down. The only options for me on the menu drop down LIghtrooms is CC in Photoshop and Color Effex Pro 4.  I am unable to do certain things in Photoshop I did for years in the elements. Can I add items back as secondary external editor or am I forced to use one or the other... Appreciate any help you can provide

Under the options "Additional external editor", the second line is an application. There is a button to choose, you can click on browse and find Photoshop Elements and that it is the secondary external editor choose.

  • photos from Lightroom does not open in elements such as external editor

I put 11 items PS as my second choice after CC for external photos of Lightroom edition, but it only opens PSE without the selected image. CC works perfectly. Any ideas?

During your installation, make sure you select the application, and not an alias (shortcut). Go to this link which is for PSE14, but the setting is the same.

  • After update, Lightroom grayed out of external editors.

I have followed the instructions, removed the preferences of the location in Windows (appdata etc.) ... reinstalled Lightroom and Photoshop (CC 2014).  External editors were not blurred only once.  It's only since the last update.

    Does not help restart.

In the Plugin Manager, it shows them all installed and working properly.  The truth is, Lightroom won't let me not even select Photoshop.  Does anyone else have this problem?

ACR?  Maybe I'm not awake yet?  I've uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom and Photoshop yesterday... then where can I perform this function?

  • Implement 10 element as external editor in Lightroom 3, don't worry.  What's wrong?

I use Lightroom 3.  Just bought the item 10 and put in place in Lightroom as an external editor.  It does not at all.  What's wrong?

Make sure you link the application and not a shortcut. If you use Mac OS x, you may need to show hidden folders.

  • External Editor

    Hi guys...

I have the old problem on the external editor... he decides I should use CC... And I don't want that... I want to return my default option of CS6 because I'm sick of it now. My question is:
There is a new solution to this, except reinstall them CS6? If I reinstall cs6 probably I lose all my actions, settings etc etc... I don't want that or...

So before to do this, I think that 1000 times!

    Thank you very much!

    Pietro

    Hi, Pietro.

Please click Edit > Preferences in Lightroom.

Click on the Edit tab external, under additional external editor on the right side of the application and click on choose and navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 and choose the photoshop .exe file.

Now, if you right-click on an image and choose Edit in it would provide you an option for Photoshop CS6.

    Thank you

  • Configuration of several external editors

I use Lightroom 5.7.1 standalone Mac Yosemite. I use Photoshop Elements, Nik Collection, many "Topaz" Add ons, more Portrait Professional and Photomatix.

When configuring external editors, it seems to me only able to set up two "external editors". I don't know what the difference is supposed to be between an external editor and a plugin, but when I aim Nik Collection 'Plugin Manager' for example, it will not add them, but seems happy for them to be treated as external editors.

So assuming that it is correct to treat all the what above as external editors, so I can «edit in...» {"their use, how can I add them all in preferences} mounted?

I use Photoshop Elements as the first external editor. There is an option to add a second, but I don't see how, having configured for Color Efext Pro for example that I can then save it and have a new (i.e. the third, fourth, fifth etc etc etc) configured external editor. I always reconfigure this second option in the external editor for another program when I want to use it, I can't imagine is supposed to be functioning.

LR experts can shed light on what I should do. I searched many sites explains how to configure the external editor but I do not find anything discussing how to implement several external editors, i.e. more than two.

    Worminger

Worminger, you are missing a crucial step:

After you [choose] another external application, you must click the drop down menu arrow at the end of the "Preset:" box, and then select "Save current settings as new preset" this will ADD your new preset for Presets: list.

It can be misleading because you will always see the name of one of the predefined existing applications in the "Preset:" box. Don't know what you see! When you select "Save...". "you have the option of ADDING the new preset with the name you want to give him. On the second screen clip below I save a new preset for FotoSketcher (...-2) Although 'Nik Viveza 2015' appears in the preset: box.

And, as Mike said above, you can have several presets for the same application, using the different options.

    Hi Alik!

Lightroom sets the latest version of Photoshop as external editor by default. However, you can set the CC Photoshop as an additional external editor in the preferences.

You can then call it with a keyboard shortcut or via the menu.

  • How to change the external editor

How can I change the external editor, as and old version of PS to PS Elements 12?

Lightroom automatically selects the primary external editor. I believe that he will choose the PS instead of PS Elements. You can include PS Elements as an additional editor. see screen capture.

  • How to reset the naming of files for external editors?

I tried a few variations on Martin Evening's suggestions to name the files that are managed by an external editor (PhotoShop), but he did not like the results after all. Now, I want to return to the default value of Lightroom - Edit1, - Edit2, etc., but were not able to understand how to recover these default values for any future edited files.

    Suggestions?

    Thank you

Go > edit > Preferences > external Edit tab.

Down in the section, in the window, click on the small triangle and select . This brings the filename Editor. Select or create what you want.

If you like , click Insert "Filename", insert "custom text".

In the upstairs window, replace the words "Custom text" by "change". Ensure that "filename"is the first, and "Custom text" is the second."

  • External Editor does not

I'm running on a Mac OS x 10.6.8 Lightroom 4 and using elements 10 as my external editor.  When I right click and select EDIT and choose the items, nothing happens.  When you configure the elements as my editor for the LR, I'm sure I chose the right folder for items.  I also tried to delete and restore the default values and then setting up the elements once again.  No dice.

    Here's what I see-
