  VERY frustrated here. In the past, my use of the Adobe software was increased CONSIDERABLY by the availability of assistance in offline mode.   Just installed CS6 Production Premium on a machine of Win8. Sometimes I have to edit in areas without internet. This means that I sometimes have to access offline help. I have pressing F1 and adobe help manager says "awaiting download. I connect to the net after a reboot and load the adobe help Manager. I select the products I want help for (all) offline, I select "notify me when updates to help are available," it says waiting for download on all products. The UPDATING box does not work (in gray), I've hit, and I don't see any download from (confirmed by watching the activity on the resource monitor network traffic and disk). So I close adobe help Manager and reopen it. Now, it says 'Not available' and once again the UPDATE is grayed out. Well, I don't have any help files, then it would be REALLY great if the Adobe help Manager could do his job and download them. My guess is that Adobe has a server down which communicates with Adobe help Bishop and deploys client files Adobe help Mgr. It is a basic feature and really needs fixing.

  
  

  It's a good thing that I know enough about Premiere Pro to teach a class about it (making a documentary, and you can teach class too), but I still have much to learn about audition, prelude, speedgrade, etc.. I need F1 help feature in all programs of CS6. Online help is good in theory, but some of us edit in areas without net access.

  Hi... running Windows Vista with service pack 2 and did not have an auto update installed since 07/21/11.  Automatic updating turned on and verification of updates on a daily basis.  BUYMD when I open windows update, the selection of "Check for updates" is grayed out.

  It is grayed because your edits are removed because you company CA.

  Please check your private messages, I have provided the details of the files to delete, delete updates.

  If these files are present, then your administrator must ensure that it deploys the update package or that they are not deleted.

• Photos of deleted the external hard drive after updating Lightroom

  I just installed the new update.  Wish I had read some of the forums before hand.     Of the photos on external hard drive and I wanted to add them to the catalog.  After that I added to an existing catalog, I don't see pictures on the external hard drive.     If I click on the folder on the external drive, there is nothing in the folder.     If I unplug the external drive, I see the question mark by the photos.

  In addition, if I take the external hard drive and plug it into my laptop (Macbook Pro), Lightroom detects photos and does not watch the point mark.  However, I can not see the pictures on the external hard drive.

  Where can I watch, or how to find them.   This seems very odd.

  I did as you asked.

  When to disconnect the drive and click on ""?, "it shows the external drive as the previous location."

  Where to plug the hard drive and search using the finder, that nothing is found.

  When I connect the drive, Lightroom see files and works normally.

  Lightroom sees the files if the external hard drive is connected which leads me to believe that they are still on the drive.    However, they are able to access by Lightroom.  I see nothing in the files on the external hard drive.

  This really baffled me.

  I got 5 Lightroom and a bunch of retouched photos, the changes are saved in .xmp.  Now I have changed to Lr6 and when I chose before & after seeing both on photos already edited in Lr5, in the two frames appear thr rtouched versions of photo.

  Is it possible to fix this? Or maybe he stop next time I reinstall Lr?

  It doesn't really matter what you do with the current catalog of the LR6

  in LR 6, you must use the file-> open catalog, and then point to your Lightroom 5 catalog

  When I moved from Lightroom 5 CC of Lightroom the Nik plug-ins were in place. I have a print utility provided with my printer that does not transfer automatically.   I installed and made my list of favorites from the editors.  A feature very convenient.  If you add a Publisher/app accidentally in the Favorites control (right) - click can remove it.

  I want to use external editing (in my case: Adobe Photoshop Elements) for the edition of the features not available in LR3 (for example: tilt) and easily record back in JPG format. The source in LR3 is a DNG image.

  LR3 offers easy out-of-external-editor workflows > back to LR3 if you save as TIFF or PSD.

  But I found no easy or extremely awkward sort to save the photo retouched as JPG for LR3 and organizing 'close' to the original/source-DNG (preferably bunk).

  Any ideas out there?

  If you save it as a JPG file, so all I know is no automated method to include the JPG PES-edited in the Lightroom library Module. I guess no automatic to do this is to save the modified file in the same folder as the original and then synchronize this folder and then create stacks.

  Or, avoid anything that works and use TIFF files.

  The choice is yours.
