  I would like to install a new OS (new operating system: Windows 7, old OS: Vista Edition Home Premium) on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A300-237) to repartition the whole HARD drive. I see a non-standard partition, its size is of ~ 1 GB, can I delete this partition?

  If you want to install your own Win7 version delete all existing partitions and then create a C partition for the installation of the OS.
  I guess you write over WinRE partition and it is about 1.5 GB.

  I installed Win7 ultimate 32 bit on my Satellite A300 and it works perfectly.

  Hi all

  I have a problem with my satellite A300, which is difficult to explain, and I have not found this problem anywhere elsewhere in the forums. I'm not a computer expert and I will try to explain the problem.

  When the battery is fully charged and I turn on the laptop, I can use the laptop for 5 minutes and I get a warning to reconnect. When I plug in, the system crashes. Nothing don't move or nothing happens. Press and hold the power for a few seconds and the system is off. I reload and restart once again and I play video sopcast or request some other videos and then plug-in system, it works fine. Once again I can use the system unplugged for just a few minutes, if I plug it crashes.

  My laptop needs restoration because it doesn't let me go on windows or whatever it is, that I have ready disks. But this model has two hard disks built and all the stuff I want to keep are stored on the second hard drive, if I reinstall windows will be on the second hard drive to be deleted as well?

  Im not bothered what is on the main hard drive, but want everything on the second hard drive.

  If this is not deleted everything what in it if I take the second hard drive then reinstall windows then plug in what would happen then?

  I think the first HARD drive would be to format this means only the HARD drive where windows operating system is installed could be formatted and all partitions would be deleted.

  I would like to install Windows XP on it (because of stability issues with Vista), but when I enter in the configuration of Windows XP, I get the message that Windows Setup did not find any HDD installed on this computer, even if the BIOS says there is one installed.   It is not easy to offer a solution to this. Satellite A300 is not supported with this problem and Linux, you're on your own.
  Check some Ubuntu forum. You're more likely to get good advice there.

  Windows 7 is fully supported and normally you should get no problems with Windows 7 running on Satellite A300.

  The speed of the memory is related on the material. This means that the FSB is responsible for the limitation.
  If the FSB would allow support 667 MHz then the memory would also at this speed.
