Question on recovery Satellite A300

My laptop needs restoration because it doesn't let me go on windows or whatever it is, that I have ready disks. But this model has two hard disks built and all the stuff I want to keep are stored on the second hard drive, if I reinstall windows will be on the second hard drive to be deleted as well?

Im not bothered what is on the main hard drive, but want everything on the second hard drive.

If this is not deleted everything what in it if I take the second hard drive then reinstall windows then plug in what would happen then?

Thank you

Alex

Hello

I think the first HARD drive would be to format this means only the HARD drive where windows operating system is installed could be formatted and all partitions would be deleted.

    Hello

I would like to install a new OS (new operating system: Windows 7, old OS: Vista Edition Home Premium) on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A300-237) to repartition the whole HARD drive. I see a non-standard partition, its size is of ~ 1 GB, can I delete this partition?

    What information contains this partition?
I did the recovery previously by Toshiba HDD Recovery disks. Guess when I delete any partition and put in place and installation of the discs, will recover the initial state (including the hidden partition)?

    Thank you

If you want to install your own Win7 version delete all existing partitions and then create a C partition for the installation of the OS.
I guess you write over WinRE partition and it is about 1.5 GB.

I installed Win7 ultimate 32 bit on my Satellite A300 and it works perfectly.
If you need assistance with installing Win7 let me know.

  • Re: Unable to create recovery Satellite A300-1NA discs

    Hello

I have a problem with Recovery Disc Creator. When it burns 1 DVD disc, an error occurs. It says "an unexpected error has occurred. "Error code: 0E01B5-26 - 2A 031000.
    I have Toshiba Satellite A300-1NA.

All updates are installed, and generally, the system is "clean". I suspect that this problem is due to my DVD - RW drive (MAST * A UJ880AS) but I can't find the new firmware for it. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Best regards

    Hello!

Firmware updates, you can get on the Toshiba site but for your Satellite A300 with Mat * one reader I didn t find a.

Have you tried DVD s from different manufacturers? I use discs Verbatim always and never had any problems with it.
    Check it!

  • Re: Can foreign supply in question on my Satellite A300

    Hi all

I have a problem with my satellite A300, which is difficult to explain, and I have not found this problem anywhere elsewhere in the forums. I'm not a computer expert and I will try to explain the problem.

When the battery is fully charged and I turn on the laptop, I can use the laptop for 5 minutes and I get a warning to reconnect. When I plug in, the system crashes. Nothing don't move or nothing happens. Press and hold the power for a few seconds and the system is off. I reload and restart once again and I play video sopcast or request some other videos and then plug-in system, it works fine. Once again I can use the system unplugged for just a few minutes, if I plug it crashes.

If you play sopcast, plugin, it works.
If I start the system in safe mode, it starts very well and I can use the system as long as I want. Even though I have the plugin in safe mode, it works fine.
I checked with some experts and they say that the graphics card has disappeared. Some say that it could be a virus. Some say that it is a problem with the battery and charger.

Please help me. I am writing my thesis today, and all my data is in this system.

    Thank you
    RV

Have you noticed similar problems when you use the laptop with AC power only, without the battery?

Start the laptop with AC power and when Windows is loaded correctly put the battery inside. What happen exactly when you do this?

  • Question on recovery satellite M50-176

    Hello world
I have a Satellite M50-176 and I'm unable to get into windows, and I think that I have to restore the OS files.
I have three CD/DVD toshiba dated 2005 (the recovery disk, media express recovery CD and CD extra software).
I don't want to completely format/erase the hard drive, but I need all the files that I so want to do just a restore.
Thanks for the attention and help!

Published by: ADMIN on May 25, 2008 08:05

    Hello

The restore CD contains the image of Toshiba file.
This file is a package and it contains the OS Win, Toshiba drivers, utility tools and additional software. Simply said that it contains everything that was preinstalled on your computer.

The express recovery CD media contains the Express Media Player and other software CD contains tools and drivers.

What you need is the recovery CD. It will set your notebook back to factory settings.
If you want to use the standard recovery option then the whole HARD disk will be formatted.

But there should also be an expert recovery option. This option would be to format only partition on the HARD drive.

In your case, I would use the recovery expert option.

  • Re: Toshiba Satellite A300-129: Windows XP installation

    Hi people,

    I have a question regarding Toshiba Satellite A300-129;
I would like to install Windows XP on it (because of stability issues with Vista), but when I enter in the configuration of Windows XP, I get the message that Windows Setup did not find any HDD installed on this computer, even if the BIOS says there is one installed. Do I need a driver disk to install Windows XP on this machine?

    Thanks in advance!

    Allan

    Hello

I guess, you should integrate sata drivers:

  • Question on recovery for Satellite A300-15 b DVD

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-15 b, bought almost 2 months of age. I created a DVD using Toshiba Recovery DVD Creator, as mentioned in the manual recovery. The question is, I created this months DVD 2 when buying and I used Notepad for this period. My recovery disk would be identical to a recovery disk created just after the purchase?

Content of my recovery disk doesn't include any setup I see makes me think I could you created a wrong. Can I use this disc to re - install Vista assuming that I am currently using Windows XP?

And how many recovery disks are required for this model of Toshiba? I have only one.

Thank you for your time and your consideration.

    Kind regards..

    > My recovery disk would be identical to a recovery disk created just after the purchase?
The recovery image is always the same. When you use the laptop will have always the same configuration, the same that you got after it for the first time.

    > Content from my recovery disc doesn't include any setup I see makes me think I could you created a fake. Can I use this disc to re - install Vista assuming that I am currently using Windows XP?
Because the installation cannot be started under the BONE, or in a sort of DOS mode, there is no setup.exe. Just put the recovery in the optical disc drive disk, start your portable computer, press F12, choose the CD/DVD drive, press ENTER and follow the menu on the screen. You can now use what you want. After the use of DVDs, you'll plant more recovery settings, even you got after it for the first time.

    > The recovery discs how are needed for this model of Toshiba?
This issue is understandable to me. It usually depends on media that you use to create a recovery media. Simply follow the instructions for Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. It may be that you need two DVD-R virgins.

    Do you have more questions?

  • Satellite A300 - and Vista recovery Question

I bought a Satellite A300 a few days previously, it automatically installed Vista without CD when I opened it.
Is it joint to come with a vista CD/DVD or I need to burn a Toshiba Recovery disk?

Pkozerski is right. Toshiba offers no support for recovery with new laptop models and this media must be created using the preinstalled recovery Toshiba creator tool.

To do this I advise you to use high quality in DVD-R format media. My favorite is TDK or Verbatim.
If you change anything in the future on your laptop, you'll be able to find your laptop using recovery image stored on the second partition.

If you need instructions specific to how make it please let me know.

  • Questions about pratitions by Satellite A300 HDD & recovery

    Hi all

I m planning to buy the new model laptop Satellite A300 - 1 GR for my work.
But I found that there is a problem. Many users face when dealing with laptop in general which is the removal of the partition when you use recovery disk to any operating system failure & lose data out there on other readers.
So what I want is a solution that makes me able to track:

    1 have several drives C, D, E, etc.
2 - the operating system is on the C drive & my work on other data
    3. in the case of any problem or failure in the operating system, I can format the entire disk C: & install another OS on it without any deletion or modification on other readers that my data stored on
4 - ability to install different operating system like Windows Vista, XP or Linux s

I just want just my new laptop to be like my desktop (Full controlled by me) PC

    Best regards

    Hey Buddy

Will try to provide a little light on the case ;)

The A300 is equipped with the function of HARD drive recovery. This means that you can recover the laptop without the DVD of the OS.
The installation will start from the HARD drive.
Of course, there is a possibility to create a Toshiba Recovery DVD using a preinstalled Toshiba disc creator.
After the creation of DVD de Toshiba Recovery you can format the whole HARD drive and delete all partitions (if you want).

    Up to now, we come to the point that you have requested;

The whole HARD disk will be formatted (also partitions) If you want to use the Toshiba Recovery DVD.
Why? I think that the recovery DVDs was designed for one purpose; parameters of the laptop back to the factor settings.
And this is what the recovery DVDs. It sets everything to its original state.

So, if you want to keep your data on the other partition, then you shouldn't use the Toshiba Recovery DVD but an original disc of Microsoft Windows OS.

In addition he s always advisable to back up the data on an example external HARD drive.
Then it would be no problem to recover the data on the laptops HDD.

    See you soon

    Hi mate,

The Toshiba recovery disc creator can create the Toshiba Recovery disk and that s all!

If you want to burn the other CD or DVD, you can use other software such as Nero or CD Burner XP. The last one is a free and really nice. It has many functions and is very low. Check it!

    Hello

I agree with the codes for the TDKs are not bad and I had a very good experience with these media.
I tried to burn the recovery disk using another brand and I've damaged 3 DVD + R discs
Then I went to the TDK DVD - R and it is ok

I think that questions is related to the question of the compatibility between the discs and the STRANGE...
So it of really worth to test different media!

  • Question of graphics 3D Satellite A300-23d

I bought a Satellite A300-23d about 4 weeks ago. I use my laptop for graphics and the game. I used it with no problems at all during the first 2 weeks. But later, during the game Anno 1404 suddenly some scattered polygons and textures purpleish appeared. I thought it is the result of the game. But I started to see these artifacts in all games. Now, I can't yet play 3D games on my pc. After you start a game, I see a yellow-red-purple checkered kind on my screen and polygons get spiky.

It looks like a hardware malfunction. Because I tried the update of drivers and hard drive recovery. It is getting worse day after day. Windows works perfectly fine (except that I got approximately 4 BSOD) but I can't play 3D games! What can I do? The only solution I think it gives for repair. I get the objects even when you play with powerplay (underclocked). It is not a heat problem. And if you ask, I'm not overclocking my laptop. With the help of stock parameters.

    Hello

BSOD is a sign of hardware or software problem and eventually it s related to the GPU question
If the new OS didn't install help, I'd recommend contacting the guys of ASP.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A300-243 - simple disk recovery & keys do not work

Hello, I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite A300 243, and I decided to reinstall the system to Vista Ultimate 64 bit (because of the use of the 4 GB ram).

It took me a few hours, but ultimately I found the necessary drivers and everything works fine, except one thing - multimedia keys (I think they are called easy keys). Start, Stop, next and preview track trace works great, but the first (default used for the activation/deactivation of illumination) and the second (default used for starting of W Media Player) do not work. I installed the latest version of VAP for Vista 64-bit and to Toshiba button support, I'm not able to change anything. The list, where normally I am able to choose a key to change its function, is empty. I found some similar problems on this forum, but no useful answer - lookes like the only way is to use the Toshiba Recovery option, and at this point, I get to my second problem.

The second problem is in Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator and Toshiba HDD Recovery tool. At first, until I reinstalled Vista 64 bit version I wanted to create the recovery disk, but Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator just didn't start. Then I found the HARD drive recovery option, and I've read, that this tool is placed on a hidden partition, so I thought that I will be able to recover the old system with this tool in the case of any compication. Then I reinstalled the system and wish to return to 32 bits, because he looked like his slower and at first I was not able to find all the necessary drivers. And what a surprise - recovery tool has disappeared!

The only thing I'm missing on the 64-bit version is now these two multimedia keys.

And the last question - are there opportunities to get a recovery with Vista 64-bit disk?

    Hello

As you said for easy keys or also called buttons lighting you need Toshiba value added Package. Satellite A300-243 belongs to the series of PSAG8E and that's why you can find all the drivers on the Toshiba site tools:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before installing the VAP, make sure that all the drivers are installed and for Vista SP1 at least. Then you can install it and normally then you can use the FN buttons for lighting, etc..
Also, make sure that you have installed the latest BIOS for your laptop.

Regarding your problem with the recovery disk creator and drive HARD recovery option, I can only say that these features are only available on the preinstalled version of Vista. This means that if you upgrade to Vista 64 bit you can t use HARD drive recovery option more and also the recovery disk creator.
So if the recovery disc creator doesn't work you need to use HARD drive recovery option, but it is not stored on a hidden partition. These files are stored on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder HDDrecovery. The hidden partition do you mean belongs is a feature in Vista: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Recovery_Environment

But just a question: have you ever created a recovery disk?

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A300 - is the recovery disk contains all the drivers?

I bought a new Satellite A300 and now I have to reinstall Windows Vista. My question is:

Through the recovery disk I already have all the necessary drivers for my computer?
What I have to download them one by one in line?

    Thank you for your help

    Ciao

    Michele

    Hello

Yes, the Toshiba Recovery disk contains all the drivers and tools for your laptop. After using the Toshiba Recovery disk, you have the same settings that you have started the laptop the first (out of the box). This means that the disc contains a picture of the factory settings.

The disc is very easy to use: you only have to boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows, and all drivers will be reinstalled in a few minutes.

  • Can I retrieve C only on Satellite A300 with recovery disc?

    Hello!

I am new to the new installation Windows built-in type. I was familiar with the old with Norton ghost. It was easy for me, but I have a problem with the new. I wants to recover C only on my laptop with a different size than the size of the plant.

I want to delete the first partition and reorganize others because I want bigger partition for my data and small Partition for my system. Can I start the program with the CD, and then insert the Toshiba recovery disc and use the image of Vista on recovery DVD to recover only the C drive?

Excuse me for my English. :-)

    Hello

At first, I must say that your English is very good and understandable. ;)

Back to the question of the recovery. I agree with you. With old Norton ghost recovery image, it was possible to install the operating system on a partition only. Unfortunately with the recovery media that you can create with your Satellite A300, something like this is not possible.
