  I have a Satellite Pro A120 (PSACIE) with Vista installed. I created a dual boot with XP Prof I seem to have all the drivers except the WLAN and LAN drivers. I have downloaded the LAN driver there is no setup.exe file. No problem, (I think, maybe someone out there knows differently?).

  I used Device Manager to load the file inf and intel pro/1000 PL network connection selected with the Hardware Installation Wizard. At the end the wizard said there was an error code 10 and that the device probably would not work properly.

  Can anyone help? It does not of course! By pure chance that I bought a port replicator, its LAN works with XP but do not work with Vista! (There is a hint here)

  Is it possible I can get details on the LAN device such as model, serial number? Any help appreciated gratefully.

  If you want Win8.1 dualboot with a Linux distro, so you need to active UEFI and able to start in this mode distribution.

  But not all Linux distributions can support UEFI
  So, you should choose one that would support the UEFI mode!

  But as far as I know the dual boot should be possible using a thin clone-Ubuntu, Fedora or OpenSuse.

  However, in case you want to recover the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk, you must enable secure boot and need to keep the UEFI boot mode!

  The msata isn't RAID at all in the traditional sense of the term.  The connotation of RAID is when the SATA controller is set to RAID to enable a feature for the msata.  There are a lot of misconceptions about the functioning of msata. It's more of a headache, then it is good IMO.

  Nope checked all the possible power for audio setting in windows 7.  The only solution I found was disabling Audigy, plug in my onboard sound, allowing it and restart the computer.  On restart I could activate audigy, plug on it and activate the audigy player.  It was my only solution, but this is not going to work whenever I want to use ubuntu. No solution practice.

  Well, then, right now, I did a backup Acronis image of original full HDD, and then deleted the original scores of WinRE and data, reduced and moved from disk to the partition of Vista... and installed System Commander 8 to prepare my future multi - initialize.   Also note, I have configured the SATA in the BIOS Setup in "Compatibility" mode just because I don't need AHCI in my type of use!

  Okay, there's a different BIOS for Vista 64-bit, 32-bit and Win XP, but your Vista should also work using the BIOS for Win XP.

  I have other laptops Satellite series and I m able to use XP and Vista at the same time. I mean I have a choice to start Vista or XP ;) and I m still using the old version of the BIOS.
  OK some functions are not available as FN keys, but this is not very important for me.

  Well, to cut this story, I think you can use Vista and XP without changing the BIOS ;)
