Question on the definition of the identification information of database in Enterprise Manager

Good evening

I tried to set the credentials of database in Enterprise Manager (Preferences-> preferred References) and ran into a case that I don't understand. Please see the "diagram" (which attempt to mimic screen EM--very roughly). I show the name and host fields separately because those who are constant.

When I enter in the above and press the button "Test", everything works well. I thought that if I could connect as SCOTT, I would be also able to connect as SYS (not a good idea, but, it's an exercise), so I tried this:

             Password   userName   Password  UserName  Password

   sys       abc123     sys        abc123
The above gives the following:

The question is: SYS can connect as SYSDBA, how is it possible that he wouldn't be able to connect as a user 'normal '?. I do not understand why this scenario fails.

  • Database to the top, but can not access Enterprise Manager or APEX Login

    Newbie here so sorry if it's simple.
    I have already searched the forums and tried to do what is recommended and still have a problem.


    I am running Enterprise 10.2 on a virtual machine from windows XP. It has been working well for some time.
    I restarted the VM without stopping the DB. When it has restarted the database is in place and I can run queries using SQLplus. However I can't load all services via a web page, for example. Enterprise Manager, APEX connection... Also, I can't make a connection using SQL Developer. These were all working well before.

    I already searched these forums and some people have had similar problems when running 10.2 on a virtual machine and it's the listener who has a problem...
    I deleted and reinstalled the listener with Net Configuration Wizard and restarted the DB, but that did not help.

    Here are the results when I use tnsping. Any advice would be really appreciated! Thank you!

    I don't know what you mean by which OS is the owner of the tree of Oracle software. It's a virtual machine with a single user XPMuser.

    Believe it or not, they do NOT hang the AD password change protocol in the mechanism of change of password GANYMEDE +.

    So, even if you can T + thanks to AD, if the AD server issues a challenge of any type T + auth will fail.

    That's the way the cookie crumbles :-(

    I guess it is 1.0? It would be /etc/init.d/sfcb to reboot.

    Note: We handle restarting Oba in Studio 1.0, allows us to query the status of the installation, so you can see a failure in the CLI user, even if the installation is successful OBA. If you connect later but you will see that the installation was successful.

    I'm not sure I call after creating the control for use in standby file.

    A primary server that I created using the:

    change the database create controlfile as 'sbcontrol01.ctl ';

    I copied the database pfile primary I had created earlier to the standby server, renames and edited.

    Initially, I left the CONTROL_FILES = parameter pointing to the control01.ctl, the control02.ctl and the control03.ctl that I restored. But I was getting the error ORA-01665: control file is not a standby control file

    So I copied the sbcontrol01.ctl to sbcontrol02 and sbcontrol03.ctl and stressed the CONTROL_FILES = setting at home.

    The error disappeared and the database came. I still need to test it even more, but I wanted to see if I was doing the correct or a stroke of luck.

    This seems correct, you could have also just named Eve controlfiles to control01, as your principal is 02.etc.

    I recently installed 12 c (12.1.3) on rhel 6.2 oem 64 bit.

    DB version is 11.2.0.3.0

    I've added a target.

    I went to (top - right)

    Configuration-> add target-> manually add target.

    And the agent has been installed successfully.

    However after that once I come to

    (Left side)

    Target-> data-> add-> Oracle database

    I'm not able to see the host name that was added.

    Help, please.

    If the agent has installed successfully, to connect on the Server DB and goto AGENT_HOME/bin and see the output of the emctl status agent and see if the agent is able to connect to the OEM and also able to download data to the SGD server. Try to stop and start the agent and see if there are errors seen on DB host.

    To add a database to the OEM make you also entered it in the file/etc/oratab on the DB server.

    Try installing a database 11g on a UNIX with ASM and it reaches the end and then fails with

    Configuration manager Enterprise failed due to the following error:

    Error recovery ASM SID for < my node > node

    See the file journal at /u01/app/oracle/cfgtoollogs/dbca/DB1/emconfig.log for more details.

    You can try this database with Enterprise Manager configuration later by manually running

    /U01/app/Oracle/product/11.1.0/Db_1/bin/EMCA script
