Question regarding upgrading my video card

I have a PC HP Media Center m7674n that I bought in 2006. At the time, I upgraded the system to run with an HD ATI X 1950 Pro Video card (I think that a bigger power supply has been added).

I still love the computer; However, I want to upgrade the video card of a new product from ATI.

I love the new ATI, in particular ATI HD 5000 series but I'm not sure on how to proceed in accordance

what might be the needs.

Thank you.

Unplug your computer and open it. Clean any dust using a can of compressed air.   Please keep in mind that your PC has good airflow through the air intake and exhaust.  Make sure that all fans of spin. You may run a heat problem.  Remember that you have the latest version of ATI video card driver.

PC gaming is usually higher end models depending on how intense the game uses the material.  You have an older model of PC, so I have a new one for the game is not too far from the line.  If you go with a new PC then buy one with the largest video card, you can get.  Software game usually specifies the minimum requirements for the OK performance, assuming that no other software is loaded and executed (not the real world).

A new video card and 2 GB of that memory can rise to $200 - $ 250.

  • Questions about upgrading the video card in the Inspiron 620

Hey guys... I want to add a discrete graphics card to my new Dell Inspiron 620.  My power supply is rated at 300w.  Are there maps decent graphics that I could use that would be compatible with the 300w PSU?  Also, if I upgrade my diet as well, which could result in the cancellation of the guarantee I have on my new Dell?  Thanks in advance!

Much here on the forums have used the HD 5670 on their units of 300 watt with no problems.

By the table below, you can see that the HD 5670 is only set to 190 watts in charge for the entire system.   I think that the video card will do only about 50-60 watts in game situations and where the only game not only around 20 watts.

  • Upgrade the video card on Satellite X 200-20 g

    Hello everyone

I'll find a way to have my 8700M GT updated on my X 200 laptop.
I paid for it more than 2000 and I paid for 2 years warranty.
A few months later, I discovered that some of the new Toshiba are equipped with 9700 m GTS!

I know that the X 200-20 G is having a mxm graphics card which is removable to be upgraded (not being is not part of the motherboard).

I couldn't find anywhere in the Toshiba site, where I can ask to buy a new graphics card, or if I can send my laptop and ask for an upgrade price.
I suppose someone who has paid a sum of money for Toshiba can be listened to, or get a special offer to swap its model to the newest one after even not a year of use.

I really want to upgrade the video card, and I don't really know where to find advice or information about it, other than on the side of Toshiba.

Thanks to everyone or admin, to let me know how I should do, or process.

    Kind regards
    Chris

  • Upgrade the video card in Pavilion HPE 380t

    Hello

I want to upgrade the video card in my HPE 380 t, currently it has geforce gtx 260, I want to install a geforce gtx 560 ti or 570.

I have 2 problems with the viability of this. 1. space. and 2. Food. Has anyone successfully completed a similar upgrade on this system?

Plug current sys is the following.

    • Intel Core i7 - 930 quad-core [2.8 GHz, 1 MB L2 + 8 MB of cache N3 shared]
    • 12GB DDR3 - 1066 MHz SDRAM [6 DIMMS]
    • 1 TB hard drive 7200 RPM SATA 3 Gb/s of 750Go
    • 1.8 GB NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters]

    power of 460 wt

About the food, the psu calculator gives me the following recommendations

I need my current configuration 529W!

    with a gtx 560 ti , I need 513

    with a gtx 570, I need 577W

    This raises a few questions:

    1. How can my system running on a 460wt power if the power supply calculator recommends 529w (nvidia reccomends a PSU 500w for the gtx 260 which is installed on my machine?)

    2. how the song gtx 560 ti could possibly require less energy than my current gtx 260?

    3. could I move to one of these cards without replacing the power supply? (I'd be willing to lose the dvd/rw drive, this falls 30w)

    4. what someone has updated the PSU in a HPE 380 t? Looks like there is a little extra space, but not much?

About the video card itself, I am concerned about the space, I looked inside of the case, there is a decent amount of clearance around the gtx 260, but I'd love to hear from someone who has tried to replace this card.

    Specifications for standard cards are:

    gtx 260 courses:

height: 4,376 inches, length: 10.5 inches, width: double slot

    recommended psu 500w

    GTX 560 ti

height: 4,376 inches, length: 9 inches, width: double slot

    recommended psu 500w

    GTX 560 ti super clocked

height: 9.4 inches, length: 11.8 inches, width: double slot

    GTX 570

height: 4,376 inches, length: 10.5 inches, width: double slot

    recommended psu 550w

bang for buck the 560 ti superclocked is the best deal, unfortunately they are also the most cumbersome...

    All advice appreciated!

    Hello

The difference will be the distance between the power supply and the optical bays can be annoying.  Open your PC and do some measure and see if a thumb causes less issues.  Don't forget the extra cable lengths.

Tip: When you install the new power supply, remove the front cover, lock the optical drive and slide if forward to facilitate the installation of the power supply. Do the PSU upgrade before you get your PC stable before installing new video card.

These "how-to" HP articles should be useful.

The OCZ has a bus verses double 12 volts the Corsair with a rail.  There is always a debate about who is best. Both have advantages and disadvantages.  I prefer implementing the only bus.  The really big PSUS, all seem to have several buses. The material of the size of the bus which had to bear the whole of the amperage on a bus would be rather substantial with very large power supplies and there are other reasons.

  • Need help on upgrading my video card

I have an Inspiron 530 that I bought a little over a year and I would like to upgrade the video card so that it works better for some of the more recent games.

    Here are the specs:

Processor, E6550 2.33, 4 MB Core Duo Kentsfield

    Hard disk, 500G, S2, 7.2 K, 16 M, unleaded, Seagate-GL

    Map, chart, 258 MRMGA 8600 + 3B

    3 GB RAM

    Vista 32

So if I go to dell.com, sign in to my account and go to the updates section, I can see a load of video cards to buy. These cards will automatically work on my Dell? For example, I see the GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB DDR2 PCI-E 2.0 graphics listed, but this card will run on my system? Will I have enough power (I think I have 300 Watts, but am unsure of much else regarding my diet)? What is a good upgrade on my current card? What card graphics PCI-E GeForce 9500 GT DDR2 1024Mo?

I really appreciate any help you can give me.

    Thank you!

I can not quite on what you currently have the video card.  What is a 8600GT?  If so, the 9400GT would be a downgrade and the 9500GT would be better, but not by much.  All PCI Express X 16 video card is compatible with your system so much that this is not your diet too much stress.  Unless the price is right, you don't have to buy one from Dell.  I just compare prices all around and just do shopping for the best deal.  I have a 9600GT in my Inspiron 530, but I have the 350W power SUPPLY.  Usually, I suggest the ATI HD 4670 as video card, you can get that don't require any additional power connection's top performers and work with your power of 300W.  Do not consider the 9400GT if you want to play one of the games of today.   Here is a list of popular HD 4670 from Newegg and you can compare prices elsewhere including Dell.  Note that you do not have to get a 1 GB card unless you have a monitor high resolution, 1920 x 1080, because there is little difference in performance between the cards in 512 MB and 1 GB at this level.

  • CS4 - no advantage in upgrading the video card?

I'm running a Dell T3400, Vista 64, 8gig of ram, and it's just a generic question.  My current video card is a NVIDIA Quadro FX 570 256 MB.   Is there an advantage in upgrading to a newer video card?   I know CS4 is not the Mercury engine has CS5 and I want to upgrade to CS5, but I am sure (or almost) that put on my Dell T3400 CS5 would be something similar to the USS of Regan with an outboard power!    I think that CS4 is on this computer is that it is.

What motivates this silly question?... Well, I got a new Sony HD camera recently and this T3400 imitates really when I'm editing HD; and Media Encoder takes bloody ever!    Just try to find a cheap way to get a little more speed and less frustration.

    TIA,

    JD

As long as you're using CS4 or below, there is no need to invest in a new video card. Almost any card of $50 + will be OK. As you say, with CS5 things change, but as can imagine you, the rest needs a major upgrade as well.

  • Upgrade the video card

I have a HP Pavilion h9-1187 windows 64 - bit pc with nvidia GeForce GT 530 by default.  I need to upgrade the video card, but this motherboard has only one of pci express 16 3.0 slot.  Almost all decent video cards require two slots.  I guess that most cards except those in the crossfire, two cards together configuration, must the two slots.  Most of the time, I guess the seller asking two slots due to the space.  Remove the CAP from my pc and possibly void the warranty, can someone tell me what video card width this pc may take.   I have the motherboard COMPANY PEGATRON, the default value.  If you care to recommend a video card decent all 250-300us about feel free.  Thank you. Apologies, but as a newbie I also posted this in the hardware section of the bureau of the forum as well.  I'll delete the entry that is in the wrong part of the forum.

When a card is listed as having "two slots", this means only that he would hold the PCIe x 16 location and regardless of the slot is adjacent. It does not require a connection to more than the PCIe x 16 slot. Looking at the photo below, the long black slit under the "IPMMB-FM" is the PCIe x 16 graphics card slot. "The slot short slot needs to be empty, then the '2 locations' map can adapt it without connection to this.

Almost any card graphics PCIe 2.0, 2.1 or 3.0 will work on your computer. Please look at these PCIe x 16 graphics cards for a selection in your price range. Please see Guide of Dave_G of a discrete video card selection of useful information on the subject.

  • Impossible to upgrade the video card on 810-109 Phoenix Envy

I bought a new desktop computer (810-109 Phoenix) and wanted to upgrade the video card. The new video card is a Zotac GTX 660. The thing is that the system does not boot with the new video card. I got continuous beeps from the system. I used 6 PCI-E power connector pins. The power suply is expected to support the video card, as it is listed as 600W and it is the wat recommended for the video card. I am runing Windows 8.1 64bits.

    Help, please.

    Hello:

When you add a video card no HP in a PC provided with W8/8.1, you will need to change 2 settings of the BIOS before installing the card.

Please read the info on the link below and hopefully that will solve the problem for you.

I have a p7-1234 Pavilion and want to upgrade the video card. I am currently the EVGA GeForce GT 610 2048 MB GDDR3. This card will work with it?

This is a power supply that will work for you:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817139048

It is modular allowing you to use only the necessary cables.  This means that there is more room inside the circulation of air.  He is also a 600W which will give you extra power for the possible future upgrades.  Any block of power SUPPLY Corsair will be good.  They are fans of the quality products for a reasonable price.

    Hello

If it is a laptop, you cannot change the video card. Only thing you can do is to
of course, you have the most recent drivers. Laptops almost always have a built-in video device
that is wired in and cannot be deleted.

Check with the manufacturer of the laptop computer for updated video drivers.

    Hello:

There is no video "cards" in most notebook PC including your own.

The only way to update the graphics would be to replace the motherboard together with a support, which may have better graphics.

Graphics of your model is in the upper part of the brand, so the only way to get better graphics performance would be to buy a new laptop with the desired graphic solution.
