Question related to the Re-installing Windows 8

Hello

I have a friend whose PC was completely rerouted via phone calls and credulity.
My cheapest option, which she agrees with, after a lot of time to try to repair, restore etc is totally reinstall since his record of windows 8 . Unfortunately, the dealer had installed and not given him the key on paper. No phoning, there was no support.

Y at - it a temporary product key that can be used with the disc to re - install the OS?

No key is required: provided with Windows 8 computers have a built-in product key.  Simply run your recovery system and you will be provided "new factory".

There are several way to do.  There are two built-in options of Windows (which I saw in #3 and #4 on this page).

There is also a system of recovery of the manufacturer.  As you probably know, most of the machines are supplied with recovery disks more, they just put in another partition on the hard drive.  You can usually get in this revival by restarting while clicking the option to reboot on Windows login page.

If you are unable to login screen to use the shift + option to reboot, most manufacturers have prepared with their own solutions. My computer Vaio from Sony has a button of special pinhole that I had to press with a paper clip to enter into recovery mode.  Other manufacturers have other options, some require a USB thumbdrive to enter recovery, or a CD.

At this point, you probably want to contact Asus to know which recovery method they use.  I hate to bring bad news, but they'll probably say "why did not a recovery USB disk? (as if someone creates their own set of disks of repair when they receive a new computer).

Help a friend with a Dell laptop (did not have a problem, but wanted a clean install anyway), Dell sent us a free night FedEx ship from a restore CD. ASUS could be so kind. I know that Sony was not. If the recovery of my Vaio button didn't work, they wanted $60 for a CD!

Anyway, the manufacturer is your best bet.  Whether they have a built-in collection, or what options they recommend.  It is different for every company, so I can't be more specific, I'm sorry.

Any help would be great, thanks in advance

The first thing you should check with Asus to see if readers of Windows 7 are available for your computer model. not all manufacturers provide these. Otherwise, you need to consider to return the computer and buying one with Windows 8.0 Pro for the right to demotion or buy one with Windows 7 installed. Another thing to consider is that some computer manufacturers you want to change the operating system as your warranty. Once you find that drivers are available and you decide to go down just to buy a copy of Windows 7 and install like any other operating system. Hope this helps and if you need any additional aid station and we will be happy to help you.

  • Question related to the upgrade to Windows 8.1

I currently have a HP laptop with 4 GB of Ram and 64-bit Windows 7 SR1 running. I'll give this computer to my wife, that his old bridge is going Tango-uniform (UT). I bought a new Lenovo SmartCheck S535 with 6 GB Ram 1 TB of storage. It came with Windows 7 SR1 already on board and he also included disks for Windows 8.1. First of all, I did a set of boot rescue disks and start them on the side.

But now, I have a question, do I have to transfer my files from HP to Lenovo so that both use Windows 7 SR1? Or. should I go ahead and upgrade the OS and transfer the files.

I'm sure that happens with a lot of people, there will be a lot of programs that I keep less re - install on the new computer. They are trash who are picked up along the way for those of us who use or service of computers as often we brush our teeth. Oops... maybe it's not such a great comparison, but you get what I mean!

So, I would be very interested to hear your advice, your success, Yes and even a failure or two, all for the purpose of education.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from some of you.

As a system dual boot, the only place where the 2 operating systems interact is the bootstrapper. Windows 8 will take the priority, is somewhat different, as far as it goes, and if you select then Windows 7 system reboots so it can do a little slower. Of course, there will be a loss of disk space but you are then also 2 installs of Office and everything else.

If you were to go down the possibility to buy a kit Windows 8.1 you avoid the need to do a complete reinstall, because it will improve instead. You also avoid the need to run the upgrade of the store from 8 to 8.1. You must decide if the cost is justified, but in your situation, I would seriously consider that option as well.

Even if I'm not a big fan of Windows 8 I made the full switch and are accustomed to him, I'm sure you will as well.

  • My question relates to the use of Windows Vista Edition backup Home Premium 32-bit

I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit backup to create a backup on an external hard drive files. the disk is almost full, I noticed the backup appears to create a new set of files each time that it will consume a considerable amount of space.  Is it safe to delete old files to free up disk space as current backup do not complete due to lack of space. I don't want to lose all the essential files in the erase process.

Yes, you can delete the old files, because they are not needed when the new backup is created.
My suggestion is to set up a backup incremental and will ovewrite the old backups so that you don't have to delete old backups.

  • Product key is not valid after the re - install Windows 7.

Original title: assistance required with Activation.

    Separated from this thread.

I have the same question by looking at the subject of this thread.  I'll explain my problem.  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L670, which has Windows 7 above.  In order to run a specific program, it called for Windows 7 Professional, got the unlocked key this portion ran the program without problems so far.

Recently ran a upgrade to Windows 8 problem, someone else has started to use the major problems of the computer.  Has decided to restore the computer to Windows 7.  Entered product key codes, but the computer is showing the products are not authentic.  I have the key for Windows 7 and Windows 7 Pro unlock codes, but it contains the code of the key is not genuine.  Suggestions?

Here are my options in terms of original software for this software:

    1. He is currently a Windows 7, which came with the computer - tell me how to remove the upgrade to Windows 7 Pro
    2. I have an upgrade to Windows 7 Pro key - work not
    3. I have an unregistered Windows 8 upgrade that, I uninstalled it due to the update of loop that drove me crazy

    Thanks in advance

Use your Tosh recovery disks, starting from them and reinstall win7 as pre-installed by Tosh.

PS It would be quite unusual for a program to require a specific version of win7, what is this program?

  • backup and the pre-installed windows product key 8 install media

    I have a new laptop with 8 pre-installed windows. I want to
    (1) create a backup DVD and by extension installation
    (2) get my product key for all MS/ASUS has seen fit to to hide.

To be quite clear, I want that it is independent of any currently installed HDD/SSD.
I want to make a DVD, take the hard drive / ssd on my laptop, put them in the tub with my toaster, install a new hard drive and be able to use this DVD to install my dang-well-bought-and-paid-for copy of windows 8.

The laptop is an ASUS S56c / k56ca if this is useful.

Well it took about two hours, but the image of disk/recovery rescue process works. Always have fun train so he can begin a live cd (independent), but it's a question for another day.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Re: Unable to read from the re - install windows XP

    Hello world

Since I formatted my hard drive and reinstall windows XP, I have experience probrems in the game: 2 games does not work: warcraft III (which bug at the launch) and 7 sins (which can go to the main menu, but not more). But older games seems to have no problem (Arcanum,...), and I can listen to music and watch videos. Direct X 9.0 c installed...
My laptop is a U300, and I already played these games before the re - install.

If anyone knows what happens and can help me, I would be grateful.

    Thank you

PS: Sorry if my English is rough

Both games may have problems with the graphics now installed on the Windows XP operating system driver.

However, the Vista supports DirectX 10. Maybe these two games need DirectX 10 for the race!

Yes, you must install SP1... even just because SP1 is a sine qua non for the installation of SP2.

  • Can I reinstall the retail install Windows 7 on a corrupt Windows 7?

Malware has changed/corrupted preloaded Windows 7 on my HP desktop.

Nothing seems to back up Windows a few times, with the exception of persistence and luck.

And, if so, will remove all data on non-system to operate on drive C?

If so do I back up everything first?

    Any help would be appreciated.

There are some that will hide your files/folders so that you don't normally see them. I strongly suggest to run a scan on your computer with your antivirus/antimalware software. If you need to, you can also use the Microsoft Safety Scanner, it's free:

Also, if your files are hidden, check out the following article on how to display the:

    Hello

When your computer doesn't have enough memory for all the actions it is trying to perform, Windows and your programs can stop working. To help prevent information loss, Windows will inform you when your computer is low on memory. You can also learn to recognize the signs of low memory and take measures to prevent the problem. Insufficient memory problems occur when your computer is running out of RAM and becomes virtual memory. This can happen when you run more programs that the RAM memory installed on the computer is designed to support. Low-memory problems can also occur when a program free up memory that it needs more. This problem is called memory overuse or a memory leak.

You can consult the following Microsoft articles and check if it helps.
