question 'write protected' for an SDHC card

The file in my SDHC card (SanDisk 8 GB class 6) can be played with my laptop (Pavilion dv2500). However, when I try to save a file, it shows me to 'the disc is protected wrote.' After that I have spend the card locking lug, my laptop still show the same warning message.

My computer sony can save a file in the SDHC card even when the lock tab to the "Unlock" position

An idea for this problem? THX

Location of card reader is inside a metal case stainless steel with a small tab on the side which acts as a switch to make contact with another piece of metal depending on the position of the piece of card blocking.  Most likely your drive switch is defective and it can be folded to make contact again but otherwise it's an advanced welding repair work requiring unsoldering special welding or a heat gun for repair (which means that if not all replaced mainboard needs assuming that the card reader is built on the motherboard instead of a daughter card.

my removable disk (f :)) is write-protected, so I can't put music on my micro SD memory card, how do I remove this then I'll be able to transfer my music from my android phone?)

Use a MicroSD adapter. Hold the adapter and MicroSD card, so that you can read the labels, then insert actual MicroSD card into the adapter. On the adapter, usually towards the top left (opposite), you will see the word 'Lock' with a directional arrow. Press the very small sliding tab in the slot to the left of the card upward to remove the write protection of the adapter which will then remove the write protection on the card that you inserted in. When you're ready to protect your data, simply repeat back and forth the slotfacing downwards.

  • How to format a 16g samsung flash SDHC memory card which is write protected?

Whenever I try to format this flash card or try to even try to open it through my Aspire One laptop with windows 7 starter, it won't let me... I tried to format it and it says that its write-protected, and it was fine before... my phone Samsung S4 does not even recognize the memory card when I put it... I also checked the card through my laptop and it says that the card is ok... How to remove the card write protection or even format it on my laptop? at this point I don't like everything that is on the memory card, I just want to be able to use the card for additional memory for my phone... Please HEEEEELP!

Try to go into Explorer where he lists EVERY SINGLE file on your computer, connect your phone to your computer with the memory card in the phone using the USB cable to a USB port, the auto computer will recognize the type of phone and auto install the good piece of software that is built into the programming of the mobile phone...

Before you format the card, it will read all the files on it and auto save everything for you. Meanwhile, in the "Explorer", it should list each drive on your computer, including what is on your mobile phone and assign a drive letter (for example: F:\Office Files\ [Filename.EXE])...

Assuming for the sake of arguments here, that my "F:\" " is on my laptop and it is my memory card (check the size of the map so not sure), then select this drive with your mouse and make sure it is highlighted to, all you have to do must then goto 'File' on the menu bar in Explorer and select"Format", then follow the prompts...

    I hope this helps...

  • can not unlock memory write-protected blocked card for formatting and loading files

8 memory cards are blocked due to write protection and cannot be deleted fromatted or used. If I try formatt in my camera, they are also write protected. However if I do the same thing with a stick theprocess workrs as usual

My files systems will also be notwork except in safe mode.

    Hello

    Unlock the memory card.

There is a lock switch on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the lock switch is slid upwards (unlock position). You will not be able to edit or remove content on the card if it is locked.

  • How to detect the write-protected SD card

    Hi all

I couldn't find the answer to my question, so I started a new thread.

Problem: I would like to as for Labview (or directly TestStand) detect programmatically whether an SD card (secure digital) card has the "write protection" slider switch active.

    Is it possible somehow?

PS: I also couldn't find this information anywhere in Windows 7 as well. I use LV 2011 SP1.

PPS: For the moment I'm trying to create a file on the SD card and detect the clerical error, telling me whether or not the card is protected. But I would like a more elegant solution.

Wow, it's already here for Labview: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/2048

All you have to do (I hope) is to analyse this value 'flags '!

  • Dell XPS 8900 media card reader write protected: how to remove the protection?

I use the card reader to write mp3 files on a micro-SD card to use in a small MP3. Until today, no problem. Now I get the error 'write protected' - and it is not because of the tab in the adapter SD being in the wrong position.

There were a few quirks days when card readers are presented as explicit readers in this PC, but this phenomenon disappeared when I restarted the computer. I suspect that this may be related.

Advice as to how do these ports without protection would be appreciated. Meanwhile, Plan B, using a to a USB external card reader works.

Also: Run Windows 10 as originally installed on the computer.

The outcome: diskpart approach after trying and failing, I decided to try canned air in the slot for the fourth time (this is what I did the first time that the crack would not read and later that day).

This time I gave him a dose really long and deep air under pressure. And voila, he now writes and reads.

Sorry to take all this space on what turned out be a non-issue, or should have been.

I have three other computers with media slots, two of them for close to three years, and no one has posted this question - as in my XPS 8900 after only three weeks of minimal use of niche.

  • HPE-470f built in SD card reader reads the cards as write protected

WIN 7 Professional 64 bit, SP 1 and all the updates, latest Bios and drivers installed, HPE-470f

The SD card reader to work properly.  Put it in any piece now, the camera sees the chip, reports that it needs to be formatted (not true) and when he tries, then says it cannot complete.  Displays the disk disk management is write protected.  I suspect the internal switch inside the drive is blocked or broken.

have you tried: blowing the dust out of the drive, spray of contact cleaner in the device, try several chips (all of which work well in my cameras before and after trying in the HP drive.)

    Any suggestions?

Apart from the drive of cleaning dust and spray contact cleaner in the drive, I have:

1 uninstalled all USB devices in Device Manager and forced the system to reinstall everything.

2 uninstall the drive itself in the Device Manager and forced the system to reinstall.

3 tried several cards in the reader with similar results: the system sees the card, says it has to be formatted (it was already formatted in the camera).  Formatting attempts get an error that it cannot be completed.

    4. the program of HP, but it can not format the card to be downloaded.  Reports "unable to format the device.

I've always used player soft and methods of ejecting device to remove cards.  I think that it is a loss with a broken read/write switch.  It's too hard getting the subassembly of legacy of the case card reader.  It takes almost a complete disassembly of the machine to get out.

    Thanks for trying to help.

  • SD cards are write protected on Vista

I have several multiple brands SD cards that my Vista 64 system identifies as write protected.  I have two readers of different SD cards on the Vista system and they are both the same error.  The same SD cards can be written to by digital cameras and my windows XP computer.  I confirmed that the write protection tab is in the unlocked position.  Five separate SD cards are involved between 256 MB and 2 GB.  Several brands are also involved.

I tried the suggested process of 1. The card 2. Select eject 3. Remove and reinsert the card 4. Try to write on the card.  After four or five attempts, this did not help.
I also tried selecting the card in Explorer and selecting open as Portable device.  For reasons I don't understand, one of the SD cards started working after doing this twice.  However, it does not work for the other 4 SD cards.

If the computer and the camera say it is write protected, so it's write either protected or damaged.  Look for the sliding on the card locking lug and unlock it.  If there is no locking tab then the card may be damaged and in need of replacement.
