  It is unfortunate that Adobe has chosen to use the "update" in the notice inside LR 5. It is not an "update". It is an 'upgrade '. Thus, you pay if you want. Also as usual, Adobe directs clients to the CC solution and makes it hard to find perpetual license option.

  I read the document s/n of 2 days (chances are that you already know).
  
  Page 4-5 he gives instructions on how to stop the listener using EM. I have followed the instructions and stopped the listener. It was a complete success :)
  
  I thought that, since the listener has now ceased, that the connections at the base could not be carried out.
  
  To test this thought, I started SQL * more and tried to log in to SYS as sysdba. To my surprise, it worked. I also tried with SCOTT, who worked as well.
  
  I thought that if the listener is not up, connections to the database could not do. I think I know, the listener is what connects a client process to a corresponding server process.
  
  My questions are:
  
  1. How am I able to connect to the database if the earpiece is down?
  2. What does the auditor really? (apparently what I thought he did, is not what he really does)
  
  This can be important, I have the host and the client on the same machine.

  The auditor serves only connections from remote computers. If you try to connect locally to the machine running the DB, it bypasses the listener.

  If the scan is set up then you do a connectivity with listener to scan, you can check the scan as a listening port

  Now, when the user is on the Oracle himself server, the listener didn't need to run to establish a connection to the database. Therefore, it is possible to stop the Listener and not always connect using sqlplus and a valid username and password.
  
  In the case above, the question is: if the listener does not work, what/who created the process server that communicates with the instance of the database on behalf of the user? In other words, in the normal case, the listener could get the request and create the server process.   I guess that you have asked the same thing in a different form in another thread. In the case, when the process of the user and the server is to be on the same side, the communication done by using the Protocol bequeth and the user, since it is not not going to use a (@) sign, he would use a default service for connected sys$ users .

  I understand that the Saavn app does not stop when a call comes in. Let's see if we can get it worked.

  In general it should pause the currently played track if you can take the phone call. In case it is not, you can switch to the application and pause the song or close in multitasking. You can close and app of double pressing the home button and then drag upward on Saavn.

• HP update notifications

  I get the occasional pop ups on my HP Windows PC. The pop-up will show you an update from HP is available. It says "you want to download and install the updates now?  Very nice... but... There is no provision of this HP window click Yes or no. In addition, the only way to close this window pop is to restart my PC.

  I call support on this strange issue. After several minutes, the agent told me that there is a problem with Dell. My HP printer was not purchased from Dell. It was purchased from Staples. The support updating indicator is HP.

  All I can say is that it was strange support for a simple question on this HP update notification and why it does not work.

  Any comments from anyone? Maybe I'm the only one with this strange happening. Who knows? If I get more update these pop up offers from HP, I'll just ignore it and restart.

  Thanks for your reply. After that I posted this question in this forum, I was able to finally make the phone contact with a supervisor manager at HP support. As it is, my printer is not supported in more software updates, and I was directed to the Windows Control Panel and delete the file "HP Update" that there are listed. The supervisor said that will put an end to these operations update which really would not work in all cases because of the age and printer HP em on my all-in-One 6310 some time. No more concerns.

  Ich have a small question. My Application sends notifications of type push to one or several groups of BES.

  This works well as long as the name of the Group has no spaces in the name as 'Test Group'.

  I have test it with the following to the URL:

  Return value: 505 / HTTP Version not supported

  You're targeting 20,000 users in a unique environment? Are all the user managed from a simple LOW?

  A Central push server can be set up to reach all users of an MDS instance, but 20 000 growth would cause stress. I suggest that additional tests and see how performance is affected before trying with the full 20,000.
