Question of the remote listener

Dear Experts,

In my * 11 GR 2 * database - ORCL (node 4 CARS), I remote_listener and local_listener as below:

I understand 1521 is the default listening port. I have a server (prodsrv2) remote where the oracle client is installed and the plug sockets in the ORCL base that runs in prodsrv1. Is this average tnsnames.ora on prodsrv2 must have 1521 as the only listed port while communicating to the ORCL database?

                                                                      =5458))))

In my 11 GR 2 - ORCL (node 4 RAC) database, I remote_listener and local_listener as below:

Is this average tnsnames.ora on prodsrv2 must have 1521 as the only listed port while communicating to the ORCL database?

If the scan is set up then you do a connectivity with listener to scan, you can check the scan as a listening port
srvctl config scan_listener

  • Configure the remote listener

We have a knot of Oracle 11.2 three CARS and want to configure lisenter remote parameter in the init file. When look at the document (Oracle® database reference 11g Release 2 (11.2) E10820-03), the parameter LISTENER DISTANT, it reads
    Syntax REMOTE_LISTENER = network_name

REMOTE_LISTENER specifies a network name that resolves to an address or address
list of Oracle Net remote listeners (that is, listeners that are not running on the same
machine as this instance). The address or address list is specified in the
TNSNAMES.ORA file or other address repository as configured for your system.
    This confuses me
    (1) what is this "network_name? What name of the listener or servce net?
    (2) could he understand that REMOTE_LISTERNER is the name of a listener (or a list of names of all listeners) who are not currently running on the machine of the instance, and listening to the addresses listed in the local tnsnames file. Or simply the listeners on the other two nodes tuned for instances on two other nodes?

    Hi all

I have oracle 11g rac ASM in RHEL5
    I have 2 nodes
    node 1 VIP 115
    node 2 VIP 116
for each of these nodes, I local listened as oracle said, I also have remote listener
witch is listen to these two nodes and do the load balancing and my remote interlocutor is set to SCAN ip like oracle

    My question is:
the remote listener is resident in what node because I found the listener even also reside remotely in nodes 1 and 2
When the connection is came to the listener (distance) of the database is also detect that new connection is coming and then
to see which node is have less load and pass this connection to the local listening port, so I need to know the remote listener
reside in the nodes 1 and 2 or... I don't know?

  • Qosmio F20-132: Question on the use of the remote control

Hi ppl, I just read the manual of my laptop and I realized something that I didn't realize before

I can use my remote control without using the "infrared adapter" using the USB connection, but it does not work inside the Win XP MCE, but I can use it to turn on my laptop and off and use other features, I will try in the future to use some other aplications with the remote control. I guess many of you guys realized it when you bought your laptop, but I said at the beginning when I opened the package ' what the hell? remote control... but I really need this adapter? Sherazade, that sucks.

by the way someone is using the remote control with other applications (such as ahead nero, chis tv, or linux inside)?

    Hello

I downloaded the manual for this unit, and according to the information of the remote control receiver is required if you want to use the MCE Remote control.

In addition, remote controls USB only works with Win MCE and so cannot be used directly with Qosmio Player
Additional some application programs can not supported control functions remotely.

where´s so the problem? Just put new batteries in your machine and begin to control your computer with the remote control. Your portable computer with an infrared port that communicates with the remote and usually such device is automatically recognized by windows.

  • Question about the use of OdiOSCommand to run remote commands

    Hi all

I have a query on OdiOSCommand

    I have two following servers.
A server running and odi agent
Server B agent running odi - but no a pots to odi - and odiparams.sh set up correctly.

Now I regularly invoke scripts on server B (using startscen.sh) that use the agent on the server. It works fine - once odiparams.sh is correctly set up for standards etc.

Now I have a new scenario that has an order of OdiOSCommand. Yet once again, I invoke the script from Server B, to use the agent on the server. The OdiOSCommand passes just a shell script, and there is no problem of permission.
I expect the command to execute on the server where the agent is running (e.g., Server A) - but its execution on the server where I invoke the script (IE Server B). I can prove it by temporarily replacing the calling script with a mkdir test_dir schell.

Is it possible in odi to invoke a command on a remote linux server - when the remote server is running an odi agent. I know there are other ways to do this - ssh etc. - but I try to keep this reality to a package of odi of maintainability.

    Thanks for the research!

This thread responds to what you are looking for:
Re: Startscen using an existing running agent could process

Basically, startscen.sh branches off to a local agent on server B, and so the script also runs on server B.
    You must use startcmd.sh instead.

  • The easy listener questions

    I have 10g on Windows 2003.

The listener.log file gets reset / regenerated whenever the database is stopped / started?

The size of my listener.log is 740 MB size. Is it very important?

Under Windows, how to create a listener for the second? It is advisable to have a second listener running in case of failure of the other earpiece?

    Thank you, John

Any log file is a Mute . There is no intelligence to do any activity as "reset / regenerated" on the power on/off. So the answer is an absolute No.

The size of my listener.log is 740 MB size. Is it very important?

Depends on! If you have a size sufficient storage and won't mind a file less than 1 GB, it is not. If you are concerned about your use of the disk and do not want to keep logs of the months and months of old data are, it is great and you must cut out keeping just the data for no more than a week.

Under Windows, how to create a listener for the second? It is advisable to have a second listener running in case of failure of the other earpiece?

In general, No . Yet there may be counters as if you want to protect yourself from the failure of the only listener and want to have a failover of the listener , you may want to have a second earpiece. But as already said here in this thread, it is not normally necessary. To create a second listener, just fireup NETCA and create a new one on a different port and it will take care of everything.

    Thank you, John

  • Ring of the remote control for a updated firmware A77 camera REQUIRED emphasis comments functionality and design?

    Hello
It is a good complaint and at the same time a good stand on a feature I'd neeeeeed really put in an update of firmware for the camera of the A77 as soon as POSSIBLE (as soon as Possible) like others, I have already asked for what he moooooonths there!
I have spent the money of the month and time in a machine to control the update in order to focus stacking without touching the camera... It does not give the expected results, but maybe after all, I will succeed.

But of course, it would look pretty cheap technology around an expensive Sony which does not any Thetering for this device 3 times the price other cameras with this feature, "Thetering", a term which means remote control the camera from a computer or IPod, mobile phone, etc.

    FUNCTIONALITY NECESSARY:

Everything is necessary at least to do something, would be the ability to reallocate the shutter half pressed the button to advance a specific step. When the focus is narrow, few measures are necessary, but it goes further, steps may be greater. The camera would limit its course to the limits of the focus ring. Once the button out (so not half or completely down) or when the update has reached the limit of development more far, it would be to take a last picture and bring focus back to its position closest to you, ready for the next batch of photo.

Pictures would be taken when completely down. If the focus is not the position of the closet before splashed the process, we could do it manually or select an option from the menu.

Another possibility would be to reassing these 2 keys of the remote control features: a to make one step back, one to make a step forward. The advantage of the 2nd button that allows a remote control, would be the possibility of backwards if we went off for a step.

Overall, it would take very little programming to do this. (mainly add a menu option and the operation of each time button x is pressed, focus moves a step forward, a step being of size proportional to the distance according to a simple formula. Same thing for a button Y in the opposite direction.

    (1) what is the best way to communicate this request to the right people?

If someone expect this feature too, please comment!

    (2) also, where we communicate comments on design issues?

    Thank you

    Hello Mark,

Welcome to the community forums of Sony

  • Question about the flexible reference mode vs mode

Hi, help me to make it clear what mode should I use for my ar test?

If anyone can answer my questions, it would be useful.

    1. mode of reference

1.1 reference mode has some standard scenario to make VDI workload. would you share the contents of these scenarios?

1.2 how the reference mode simulates listening login for users of 400VDI?

    2. flexible mode

2.1 How can I decide which mode should be used for my test, the remote control mode, the passive mode and local mode?

in other words, what kind of test cases are recommended for each mode?

I know remote mode is 1:1 for the client and the desktop computer, passive mode is 1: n and local mode is 0: n.

2.2 how flexible mode to simulate the time to peak of connection for users of 400VDI?

    Thank you very much.

    Ayako

1 Yes "remote" mode and specify 400 as the number of workstations. You need 400 clients to connect.

    2. you can see the workload mix on the ViewPlanner UI page. But for the event log, you can only select the 'word'.

    3. There will be a PDF report at the end with all the stats.

Is not more or less the same question you asked in {message identifier: = 10835497}?

You must have a user to the remote database and an entry for the remote database in your tnsnames.ora file

If you have just to coil of database of remote and local database didn't need to be involved:
Edit your tnsnames.ora and add an entry with the remotedb, the information and you need to have the following information:

Ip address or the name of the server (BAMDB001?)
    Name of the service (?)
Port configured for this database. (??)

Also, you must be sure that the connectivity of your local computer to a remote server is granted (without firewall block).
Only when you have this information, you can connect to the remote database from your laptop.

From the Unix server where you connect to the database, you can get the information to be inserted in your local tnsnames.ora by typing:

    tnsping dbname

Of course, you need to replace dbname with the name of your database.
Another way is to check the remote tnsnames.ora when logged in Unix:

    cat $ORACLE_HOME\network\admin\tnsnames.ora

    and check the configuration it.

    Kind regards.

My question is what is the best way to check if the remote database is running?

Can I use sqlplus system/manager@PROD? But sometimes this has taken so long and suspended. I want the best response time?

How can I write a pl/sql procedure control connection? What do something like the ff:

    Something like that?

Not really feasible at the level of PL/SQL.

The reason is that the greatest strength of TCP's robustness. TCP will try as hard as possible to succeed, before failing. It was designed to still work on the severely damaged or broken communication as a result of nuclear infrastructure. A TCP connection can take up to 15 minutes, maybe even more, before failing. It can be as slow as a turtle-, but he's wearing a hardshell. (unlike the UDP, which is the opposite)

So if you want to test the TCP connectivity, you must design your own custom code to implement your assumptions about the latency of packets, earthquakes and drops and so on.

Otherwise, you will need to use a standard TCP socket, set a time limit, try to login - and hope for the best.

This approach, I have demonstrated in {message identifier: = 10111306}.

If the TCP test works, it means that the listener is in place. Does not mean that the database itself is in place. Which means then using a database link to be tested. And this in turn can hang due to problems with archive record being stuck, not enough idle servers shared, etc..
