Questions of SSD ACER R7 R13 - 372T addon

Hello!

my model contains a single 256GB SSD. I would add a second SSD in the empty slot of the SSD. However, I have not found any BIOS setting for SSD at all. So I have a few questions:

-I will add a larger SSD (compared to one inside) and set it up as a separate drive or this will not work?

-If I choose a same size SSD new entries to the BIOS will be displayed let me configure as a RAID0?

-Can I choose another model/manufacturer SSD compared inside a RAID0 (model inside is 256GB m2 SC300 series SK hynix in bulk HFS512G39MND - 3510-A), or would it cause problems?

Thanks for any help!

    Hello Johan,.

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft community.

I would like to know the brand and model of the Solid State Drive (SSD)?

Here are answers to your question on SSD:

    1. no SSD has also problems such partition corruption en lik disk corruption file system hard.
Response: Yes the SSD may incur this question, the cache is used to help merge written and extend the life of the SSD. If it says in transit, the sudden loss of power is probably the source of your corruption. Real business and industrial SSD have super capacitors that maintain caches of power long enough to move data cache of nonvolatile storage, much in the same way with battery backup and backed the RAID controller Flash work.
If your drive is not a supercap, flight operations are lost, that is why the corruption of system files.

2 - does support SSD too ATA password security?
Response: Yes ATA security password for the SSD is supported.

3 - I read that SSDS using encrypion algorithm to set the data on memory which is not even known bij the user himself.  the corruption of this encryption algoritm can be repaired by a special software!  If so, what software are they?
Answers: Not sure on any third-party software you can search any software at your own risk. Or the best way to deal with this, by contacting the manufacturer of the SSD.

  • 372T - Acer R7 R13: screen often goes out for a second and returns back, CORRECT.

I have power cuts momentary screen, usually while you browse in Chrome/Opera with several tabs open. You also have this kind of disturbing screen blackouts? • NB500: 2 questions about SSD disk upgrade

    Hello world

I have a mini laptop Toshiba NB-500 and I want to replace her with a SSD HARD drive.
I chose the series Pro Q Toshiba SSD SATA III 128 GB, which I think is totally compatible with my computer.
My 2 questions of this forum are:

    1. is this true? Can I replace the HDD by the Toshiba SSD without problems?

    2. is there an accessory that allows me to connect the HARD drive replaced by a USB cable and keep it as an external hard drive?

    Thank you for your support.

    my email is [email protected]

    Soluna

You can use a SATA SSD in NB500 since the laptop supports the SATA controller. But you won't get the full performance SATA III supported by this SSD drive. I guess that the portable computer s controller supports only SATA II ability.

If you want to use the old HDD 2.5 as external USB HDD, I recommend buying a SATA-to-USB external case. It would be the best solution to get the HARD drive connected to one of the USB ports

  • Questions about the Acer Aspire Switch 10 guarantee

    Hello

I am very interested and very probably going to go ahead with a purchase of the Acer Aspire Switch 10 but I have a few questions. As the device is not currently available in Australia my plan is either:

    (A) choose one of these devices to the top when I visited the United States in two weeks

    Or

    (B) order now (of the United States) and delivered it here, so it comes at the time wherever I'm back from my trip.

So my main question is, as I have seen many different people having the same problem here with no apparent difficulty, if I made the purchase would I covered by warranty? I think that one would see me covered by the guarantee of international travelers, but it is not very clear. The second option would be local warranty (United States), is that correct? So if I had a problem I have to send it to the United States (at my expense)? Or should it be mentioned here in Australia? And finally, if a problem arises here, local service center (located in Sydney) acer would be able to solve the problem or find a replacement model, even if I have to pay a fee?

Thanks for the help, I am completely impressed with the device for what it is, I don't want to be stuck with a dud and know I am not covered by the warranty after I come back home (Australia) or when it arrives.

A traveler warranty Acer is designed so that if you buy a product, then travel outside your country up to 90 days, you can get service while you travel. Because you live in Australia and be buying abroad and return home, that you would classify not as a traveller in good faith. You can read all of the terms and conditions in http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/itw.htm.

The warranty for a product purchased in the United States would need to be repaired in the United States. Unfortunately, you would be responsible for the shipping of the product to the United States for repair, and we can only ship to an address in the United States, so you have to send it to someone in the States who may transmit the packet.

Regarding if the deposit of Australian repair can repair the product, it would be up to their discression regarding if an ITW applies and if they are able to get the parts of the system. It is recommended that any warranty service needed on a purchased product, to be in the country of the initial sale.

  • Acer Aspire R13 problems active Pen (R7 - 371T).

I bought a new R13 Aspire, with recommended acer active pen for this model. Touchpad is flicky and wobbles in his laptop computer screen resolution (very unpleasant to use) place and brightness are great and it is very sensitive to the touch of the finger and capacitive pens.
However when I use the active stylus, it works very well for about 5 minutes and then it starts to jump and jump and then the pen stops working. After a reboot, pen starts to work, but same thing happens. When I pass the pen on the screen he sees clearly, but the movement is not smooth, in the same way, when I use the stylus to draw he jumps and jumps a lot. I calibrated my monitor and the problem still persists.

Also ACER calls for the rejection of palm, and palm rejection does NOT at all.

Anyone had the same problems? or your active pen works perfectly, I can't determine if the problem I have is from the pen or screen.

    Any suggestions? or comments?

I sent my camera previous back and got a new one from microsoftstore. It seems that the problems I had were specific unit. This new one works fine, the touchpad in the last laptop has obviously had a physical since problem she wavered and has not identified any multi-geste.

I'm happy with this one, it has a pilot updated synaptics, not the most recent one (there is a new Synaptics driver on the Acer site for this laptop that does not yet install) but it works.

Contacted technical support and asked why not install updates it seems that this model is still a work in progress. They are updating the drivers, software managments power etc.

Pen Active Acer works very well in ONENOTE, because the application rejects touch capacitive and works only with the participation of digitizer. but in the other Palm apps rejection does not work. I'll trade my pen as well and see if the problem is with the pen or not.

  • Acer Aspire R13 backlight keyboard issues

I got the R13 Aspire (317 t) a few days before, and while I really enjoy there are some problems with the keyboard.

The first is that is it possible to completely disable the backlight on the keyboard?  I'm tired of having to manually use the function keys to activate if off every time, I opened the lid.  This would be as much of a problem if he was not the second question.

Secondly, when the backlight is completely upward, there is a high-pitched hum coming from the speakers.  I found a couple other posts that have the same problem but I don't know if this is a fault or a problem that can be fixed.

I like much this laptop, but these keyboard problems are starting to make me think that I need to return it.

    Thank you.

    jjsmall009,

As far as the backlight goes, no, you can use the buttons to turn off every time.

If you experience any his pitch high only when the backlight is at its maximum intensity we have our repair technicians watch the device for you if you wish.

  • Pavilion dv6t-2000: level questions to SSD

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade my hard drive, because it failed the test of hard disk through BIOS > diagnostic test. The hard drive seems to overheat and is super slow these days.

I found this hard drive, which is the same size as the one I currently have and want to be sure of the following:

    SSD, I plan to buy:

MX200 crucial CT250MX200SSD1 2.5 "250 GB SATA 6 GB/s (SATA III) Micron 16nm NAND MLC internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820148948&utm_medium=email&utm_source=IGNEFL09...

    My questions:

    1. I have a recovery disc that I bought with the laptop originally, this will install Windows 7 and the 'default' or 'new' version of the operating system on the new SSD?

    2. when I go to install the SSD drive is there a cable I need to buy or going to the existing of a cable inside the computer game portable SSD?

    3. will I need support for the SSD sit in where was the old HDD?

    Your help is appreciated!

The SSD will use the same cable, tray, etc. The exterior of the SSD is physically identical to a mechanical hard drive. SATA connection and mounting holes are in the exact same places. It might be a little thinner but which does not affect compatibility. The recovery disc will work with DSS, provided that the SSD is at least as large as the smallest drive HP offered on your laptop model, which seems to be your case, since you have a mechanical drive of 256 GB (?). The series MX Crucial had a few cases has been reported problems with HP laptops. No one has identified the exact reason, and I'm not sure that the issues were with your model, but you should be aware of this. I always recommend the range Samsung 850 Evo of discs.

  • X 51 questions R3 SSD Upgrade

My new PC arrived a few hours ago. After a few minor issues, it works.

I am very impressed, it's much better than I imagined. My biggest fear was the installation of my SSD. I've seen a few videos, how to install it on a system with regular air cooling, but I waited tons of pipes to prevent me from accessing my ports.

Was shocked when I unscrewed the hypothesis aside and realized that it's still easier than the version at cooling by air. Even for a person like me, with a little big hands and fingers, it is almost impossible to break whatever it is, if you want to add an SSD. My old computer was about 3 x the size of this and it was horrible to have access to one of these ports, for a noob like me.

However, I lack a few cables, so I can't test it. For now, I would like to prepare a few things, and I have a few questions:

-I will not use the operating system on the HARD drive, once I can plug my SSD, which has windows 7 already installed, I intend to format. Lose any sort of warranty when I do? (in spite of the specific software McAffee and Dell)

-In case there is a problem in the future, to return the PC to Dell for repair, I have to remove my SSD and before additional cables?

-In which case I can not find a good solution for storing the SSD inside of the case, I thought out ports and in reconnecting it outside. To do this, I have to be a hole in the beautiful case - that I don't really feel like OO - that would be detrimental to my warranty for the system as a whole?

-Another idea was to remove the power cable connector and pass each litz wire to the rear end of the carcass and put them through the ventilation grille and plug in the connector across it. It is also something I want to do, if possible. For me it looks complicated and stupid, but could work. Could it be?

    FS5.directupload.NET/.../b8o3sstm.jpg

-Videos on youtube suggest to fix the SSD inside, but the orange marked points are too small. I have a SATA one 'old' it's quite thin, but still too thick to place it there. And the most often suggested optical drive is not available for this PC. Currently I think to be placed on the coverage area, red side. Unfortunately, this area is not completely flat. So I just can't put some Velcrow here. I need to create a flat space with a few sheets of plastic, where I can put the Velcrow and then fix the SSD. Now my question is: if I create a socket for the SSD and install it, must it be removable - in case I need to send to Dell for repair?

-The next variant was to use the green area in the image, that the gap between boards. If I put a T piece, I could place the SSD on top of it. This seems to be the easiest solution so far. I've got the materials to create such a piece, that I don't know how to fix on the flat metal. The gap is a bit narrow, and I'm sure that double-sided tape will work for a long time. I intend to place the computer on its side, which means that the T-piece would be maintained vertically. But due to the cooler of closing the vertical part must be a little longer and because of the tension of the cables, he must remain in place or damage other parts: s. anyone got experience with this? Any suggestions for glue? And same as above, I have to remove it in the event of repairs?

-My last idea was a bit easy to remove, but not so easy to install. I would use two blue areas on the photo. On the right, I would use the holes in the ventilation grid to put two sticks in. Those who would go right to left where I could put just a bit to cylinder block horizontally - where I can set the two sticks. Then I could just use some cord, wire or tape to attach the SSD on the sticks. The sticks would be made of wire, metal, covered with Scotch. What do you think?

I have to admit that I'm not a professional with material things. Which probably exacerbates the situation together, but I'm a few steps away from my goal. I'm happy for ideas, suggestions and criticism. I doesn't do anything yet, except in the cases of opening and plug in an additional SATA cable.

Thank you and sorry for the long text.

    See attachment X 51 - ssd.jpg.

My X 51 R3 is water cooled and the HHD is below the video card Nvidia GeForce GTX 960.

I used Scotch Permanent Double face foam, mounting tape and asked my SSD drive on my HHD drive. The video card has no problem editing in its support with the SSD on top of the HHD. Use two small pieces of the size of your little fingernail of the figure. More and you will never get the SSD to the coast of the other disk HHD.

You have two black HHD Sata connections. You can change which drive is primary and secondary by changing the order of the cables. The black connector next to the blue sata (DVD) connection is a primary drive (in the image of jpg the Red sata cable is plugged into the main connector). Connect the SSD in this regard and the SSD is the startup disk.

You can Motors manual switch at startup by pressing F12 and selecting the drive you want.

You may need to run the Disk Manager to make sure that both drives are online.

There is a video on YouTube is very well show you what cables you need.

  • Portege Z30 & R30 - notice to owners + question about SSD upgrade

HI - need some advice please.

I am looking to replace a laptop existing and have narrowed down the choice to a Portege R30 or Z30.

There are owners out there with a view on another machine? I read all the comments: this is the point of view of any beneficial owners I'm after. Reliability, ease of use in particular. Has anyone replaced a battery on a Z30? That sort of thing.

There is a lot of money for me to spend - so I would really appreciate the help.

Having said that I'm torn between the two models - I'm leaning a little towards the Z30 - but the standard SSD is too small. I am aware that the SSD is mSATA and which does not limit what he can be replaced by. I'm a big fan of the EVO series - and there's an mSATA SSD available in sizes up to 1 TB.

Although there is not much information online - it was suggested that the current BIOS on the Z30 does not recognize mSATA SSD more than 512 MB.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks a lot, a lot.

Unfortunately, I m not Portege Z30 owner but I want to share my knowledge on this unit.
The Portege Z30 upgrade is a little tricky.
First to get access to the battery and the memory modules and mSATA low cover should be removed.

This means that you lose the warranty if you remove this cover.
I guess that it s not worth the warranty having such expensive unit.

By the way: models are equipped with a type mSATA ' Solid State Drive (SSD) "128 GB/256/512 GB
But this does not mean that the biggest mSATA modules are not supported. To be honest, this detail isn't known to me, but I think that the controller should be able to handle larger sizes too.

  • Portege R500 - Question on SSD connector

    Hello

Can someone tell me what connector is located on the SSD to a R500?
It is NOT a standard ZIF connector...

I have a broken laptop r500 and want to extract the data of what's still out there.
Is there any converter that I can buy?

    Thank you

As much as I know SSD have the same connector as all the other hard SATA used in laptops.

You can buy the case for hard drives SATA external HARD disk and connect your HDD to some other portable external as one. If you have access to your data.
