Quick Launch - Vista

I accidentally deleted my laptop quick launch.  He was also emptied from the Recycle Bin.  Is it possible to re - download this?  Thank you!

Fetch the elements of another user on the computer. Create a new user if
needs to be (you can always remove it later).

Click with the right button on a box empty to the Quick Launch bar, and then select the folder. Open the
same folder for another user and copy the elements.

  • Quick Launch toolbar in Windows Vista makes Me crazy!

The Vista Quick Launch toolbar seems to have a mind of your own.  First, there is the part of the taskbar where the quick launch icons appear. Secondly and apparently in itself, sometimes I have a second "taskbar" separate from the main.  It is a customizable, floating 'to-do bar' which will sometimes disappear, then come back from nowhere share.  I'm so frustrated because I often use this second 'taskbar'.  I find it very convenient because I can resize and customize it as I want.  The problem is I don't know even how it got there, or why he disappears sometimes, and then, also without warning, all the icons will also disappear.  Where this secondary "taskbar" is, how it works, and why the quick launch icons, I put here change order and/or disappear, sometimes simply restarting the machine.  I spend a lot of time trying to get it back, but can't understand how it works.  In addition, on the primary 'taskbar' that contains the Start button, the notification icons are not always available.  In particular, the Volume and network icons become grey and unselectable when I go to properties.  Anyone can help to explain this strange behavior and whence this second 'to-do bar '?  Thank you!

Thanks for the response and feedback.  I am happy to know that you have taken by the suggestion to create a folder icon to restore more easily.

Unfortunately, the problem of notification icon is widely known and I have seen no response that even come close to being reasonable (or is downright wrong, misleading or dangerous).  I think it's just a random glitch in the system that we must learn to live with.

I'm sorry, that you do not find the toolbar that you liked.  If you remember the features on what you have liked to have available, you can create your own toolbar and include these features and all the others that you would like to have. Here's how: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/73583-taskbar-toolbars.html.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Vista refuses to quick launch to fill the second Row__

I am using Vista Quick Launch bar, and I use large icons. I now have a value over a row of icons, so I unlocked the taskbar and doubled the height of the taskbar to accommodate a second row of icons. It's all good, the only problem is the icons on the right are stacking behind a ' > ' button on the right side of the toolbar. I closed the taskbar, but it made no difference.

I expected to wrap around the second row. It was normal behavior in Win XP.

I can't find any property that will counteract it, and it drives me crazy.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello

Yes, I could post a picture if you honestly do not believe me, but anyone can a manufacturer with photo tools. Believe me, I have certainly no problem in creating a quick launch of several row - in fact I probably use QL more than, it is a favorite tool of mine.

No, I mean that one of your icons does not use the correct sizing, so take more space that he should and blocks the function of the envelope. The only way to know if this is the case is to remove one by one until they wrap correctly. Yesterday, I used the "show desktop icon" to close all open windows and show me immediately my PC desktop.  Today, this icon has disappeared.

The icon used to be on the section area of quick launch in my toolbar at the bottom of my screen.  I want to put it back, but I don't know where to find it.

    Hello

    Copy a new from here:

    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

    Place:

    C:\Users\launch of \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick

If you do not see the AppData folder, you need to change folder options/View tab see hidden and system first, or any folders just type the path in the address bar of Windows Explorer.

  • Do not click on & dray of desktop icons to the quick launch with Windows Vista.

Evening... Maybe someone can help me with the problem, I'm going to not be able to click & drag one of my desktop for the quick launch icons.  It's on my husbands laptop (mine is fine), so I don't know how long it lasts.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.  Thank you and have a great rest of the weekend.

  • How can I join a bookmark (IE hotmail in sign) to my quick launch?

My operating system is Vista Home premium. My browser is Firefox. My Hotmail account login is in my bookmarks on Firefox. I would like to have my Hotmail account on my quick launch instead of having to bring up Firefox and bookmarks then my Hotmail sign in. That would make my life easier. If this is not available, I suggest that this must be one of the things you should look at as a future feature.

I don't use Vista, but no doubt you can drag and drop a tab of Hotmail in Firefox on your desktop Windows Visa. This will create an internet shortcut that will open Hotmail in Firefox. I guess it's trivial which pin then the list of start-up or the taskbar.

  • Tx1000 and quick launch buttons

    Hello

    I have a Tx1000 (REF RX695AV) on which I did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate x 64.

The touchscreen works can I open/close and drag the programs with the stylus.  So do the buttons (Play, following precedent and Stop) multimedia.

What does work are the four quick launch buttons (screen rotation, display settings, start the QuickPlay, DVD).  I tried to install Vista 64 (sp38171.exe) for the latter and while I now have a driver listed for the buttons located under the computer management, on the triggers of associated program starting a 'known compatibility issues"of Windows 7.  (If I run it there seems to be problems with Windows Explorer.)

The button that I really want to work is the screen turn.  (The display settings are nice to have).  Can I do to get this key work?

Finally, as an aside during the work of the touch screen, multi touch does not work.  Do I have reason to assume that it is a hardware problem?

    Thank you Tim

I have the same problem on a tx1340ea.

After that I extracted sp38171.exe ran setup.exe in Windows XP (SP2) compatibility mode, and it works very well.

    Hello

First download the audio driver by using the links below and save the installer to your desktop.

    Audio driver - Windows 7

    Audio driver - Windows Vista

Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation - ignore the warnings that you can see everything that is an earlier version.  Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

    Hello

I installed an SSD in my laptop as the C: drive, and I did a clean install of Windows 7 using an official ISO image, which eliminates the partition HP Recovery, sorry . I have installed sp54001 - HP Quick Launch, which is correct, but the HPWMISVC service will not start. My research, I found that the service is supposed to allow interaction with the desktop. However, this feature was supposed to be turned off in Vista because of security risks. Any thoughts? Thank you very much.

    Hello

I did more research and it seems that HP Quick Launch, it's not what I'm looking for. I was looking for visual feedback for volume changes by using the function keys. I opened the Windows Mobility Center and pressed the up/down volume function keys and the volume changes indeed. It's good enough for me. I thought that special software was necessary. Thank you very much.

  • MUTE button and its quick launch icon are reversed

I think I deleted a driver when I was trying to fix a computer freeze. There was a message I deleted it while my computer may not work correctly, but I did anyway... Oops.

So now, when my mute button is disabled on the motherboard, and then the audio in the quick launch shows it is not muted and when the mute button is reactivated, then the icon down below shows that it remains silent. So I guess they are reversed but I virtually impossible to get all the sounds work so that never.

One thing I noticed, is that if I hit the mute button permanently, I can hear bits of sound. It's like I'm sneaking between the functions mute above and below. But of course, I need to function normally if I can watch YouTube with ease, etc..

So what to do? I tried to reinstall a driver from the windows site, but I couldn't really handle this very well. And my driver installation CD does not work because my CD rom is not working well.

    Hello again triceratops108,

    Thanks for the quick response!

Based on the information provided in your post, I recommend to uninstall and reinstall the audio driver of your computer. To do this, please follow this document on How to change or remove a program in Windows XP as well as Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio Driver and Audio Driver EQ re - install on your laptop.

If the problem persists, I recommend reformatting your hard drive and re - install Windows XP or if you choose to do, upgrade to Windows Vista.

    I hope this helps!
