  To answer the question on the entry of the product key, which is to prevent piracy of software for most (let's call security if you wish).  To be honest, it is not for lack of Microsoft that you have lost the code.  I don't know any way to get it back (I have the Vista code if it was still installed on the system - but not for each installed software).  What is a Microsoft game?  I didn't know this applies to 3 rd party software are well - I'm a little surprised, but it is not quite incomprehensible.

  The main problem with that is you need a motherboard that fits your body and that has the features you want - also, if you use the version of Windows that came with the laptop, you have to buy a new copy of retail installation currently on your hard drive will be deleted (it detects a fundamental change of material which is not allowed under the terms of the OEM license).  Perhaps the main point is that the expense involved in doing this closely rivaliserait the cost of a new laptop computer that already has the features you need - it can even work out cheaper to buy a new laptop that you could get back some of the expense by selling your existing machine.

  I have read the information in the Help and Support Center Microsoft - but these instructions are not clear to me.  Here are the instructions:

  It is perhaps not necessary to format the device as a result of this error!  It is likely that you have simply a corrupted FAT (File Allocation Table), or a corrupted file.

  Here is the easiest way to move to W7 without creating the old "windows" folder It's the method I want to use, there may be others, but this works well for me.

  Create your original OS system recovery discs using your recovery manager. Here is a link on how to do it:

  After that, you can delete the recovery partition, but it is later cleared any way with this procedure.

  Also, go on 'C' drive, expand this and burn it on a DVD "SwSetup" folder. This folder has all your Vista drivers and all the software you need, whether those on the HP website will not work. It is a precautionary measure in case W7 and software drivers do not work, but you should have no problem.

  In the case of guide_1, there are two partitions, drive 'C' with its main operating system on it and its Vista recovery partition.   This method to make a clean install works as I have just done my dv8. I'd rather wipe all traces of Vista, when you go to W7 and the deletion of all the disk hard drive works well.
