QuickWeb

Hi, I just started so I'm sorry if it's on the wrong Board... So my HP Mini 5103 (I think) just stopped working one day before I have to go, I needed just to browse the internet and keep in touch. So I decided that I'll just use QuickWeb. But I think the QuickWeb version on my netbook is really outdated. I would like to know how I could update. Keep in mind, I have no access to windows. I searched a bit on QuickWeb and it says it's supposed to have a launch bar? My version has only a browser on it. Thanks EDIT: Windows 7 Starter

Update Quickweb you will be able to start and log on to Windows.

As far the compatibility with your mini and more recent versions of Quickweb goes, I wil have to ask this question internally. I'll post in a private wire. It will take a day or two for having answered, so please be patient.

Update: it will actually be compatibility problems when you try to update Quickweb with a version that is not available on the portal to download to your laptop. This information is an expert of HP employees who knows.

    Hello JC.

I used the serial number that you have provided to review the list.  I have not seen anything which seemed to be a GPS module.  So, I don't think that your laptop has this ability.

I hope that you are having a good afternoon.

Hi fljim. Unfortunately, I don't think that there are alternative browsers to QuickWeb. If you need a more advanced web browser, you will have to boot into Windows.

  • HP Quickweb help

I have a laptop HP ENVY 14 1111nr. I downloaded HP Quickweb out of the support Web site. I ran the installer, and it wanted to install it on the HP_TOOLS partition. This partition was not enough space, so I went to it management counsel to try to increase its size, but it won't let me. So I ran the installer again, this time, change the directory to C:\Program Hewlett-Packard, and then he made its own folder labeled HP Quickweb. The installer has no problems and from the looks of it, it is installed. So I went to find the configuration tool to activate it. I can't find in the Control Panel, or in the start menu. I went on the program folder files to watch them, and he wasn't there either. I then rebooted my computer to look in the BIOS for an option menu, and I have not found anything. What am I doing here?

If the laptop didn't come with quickweb factory you can not add it.

  • HP Quickweb will not install

    Model: HP Mini210 210-1000

    Specified: HP Mini 210-1014TU(Windows 7 64-bit)

I bought this laptop a long time ago. I accidentally format the drive and just totally gone. I have read a lot of articles in HP Quickweb and want to install it (the box says it's possible). I already try to install it but it will not be installed. I have install with sp46601. And anyone know where I can download HP IOS? Any assistance is most appreciated.

Sorry to bring bad news, but Quickweb will not work on your mini to entry level if it has not been delivered with it.

HP Quickweb is a feature available only on the top-level selection and the high-end portable computers and laptops.

  • HP QuickWeb on a HP Mini 110 3500

I downloaded the HP QuickWeb on my laptop of 3500 HP Mini 110 running under Windows 7, but after installation a message said that the program is not supported by my computer. Can someone advise?

    Hi NutoHP,

    Welcome to the HP forum!

I understand that you have downloaded HP QuickWeb, but when you tried to install it you have received the message that it is not supported by your computer.

If you have lost HP QuickWeb and try reinstalling from a download, you indicated that you are not able to do.

HP QuickWeb is configured individually for each device. You will need to reinstall recovery. Here is a document to help you. Set up and use the Applications HP QuickWeb. Please note the section reinstall IOS or QuickWeb missing.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Quickweb is necessary?

I have a HP Pavilion dmz1 which runs on Windows 7.  It is a couple of years now, but still works great in all.

Recently, I stop the laptop and put it aside for two weeks.  When I booted the machine today, I was surprised to see an outdoor screen.  In general, I get a login Windows - no problem screen.  Today instead, I got a page for HP Quickweb, which I don't remember having seen it before.  He asked me for a password, and it rejected my multiple hypotheses;  Despite the suspicion that he has given me I never got.  I must have seen on-screen in the past to have chosen a password but I honestly do not remember doing so.

Anyway, I did some quick research online help (using another computer) and has ended up pushing a series of buttons in panic to circumvent the Quickweb and get on this Windows signon screen.  I've been successful, connected and quickly went to Control Panel / programs - and uninstalled the HP Quickweb.  It seemed safe to do so since the installation date was after the date that I bought the computer.  I must have installed it at some point, but as I said, I do not know now.

Anyway, now I'm here to ask the question - do I really need that Quickweb for something important?  Any tips or suggestions?  Thank you.  Cathy

Is not necessary, it is a feature added on this laptop.

Basically, it's a second OS Linux (Splashtop) which can quickly start up (20 seconds or less), but was very limited on what he could do.

I need to find or create a "security key" to access the feature "quickweb" on my HP laptop? The instructions to find this do not seem to work? any input would be helpful. Thank you.

You will need to contact HP. This has nothing to do with Microsoft.

This site does not deal with QuickWeb

QuickWeb should work, if so how can I make it work?

    Thank you

    Hello fljim,

Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your stay!

I understand that HP Quick Web does not work. I apologize for the delay, but I will do my best to help you!

I think a simple uninstall and reinstall the program will suffice. To uninstall it, go to control panel, then programs and features. You should be able to uninstall the program from the list.

Once it is uninstalled, you can use HP Recovery Manager to restore and install it. This document provides additional information on this task: using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers

I think that this will solve the problem. Whatever it is, please provide your results. Thank you for bringing This problem on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Hi, where is the button quickweb on the pavilion g series

Hi iv had the hp pavilion series g model No. A9J83EA #ABU and I can not find the quickweb button, can someone help... Thank you...

This document dΘcrit the QuickWeb and how to use it.

However, it is not really show where the button should go from an engine out of State.

On laptops that support QuickWeb, the button is usually above the keyboard to the left with a symbol of the planet.

  • QuickWeb on new envy 17

I just started to the top of my desire again 17 and learned to read manuals. It tells me that there is an application of Quickweb. Instructions in manual but nothing is there. It does not appear in the start menu of windows 7 either. Manual of the desire said that it should provide access to applications like Skype without using a windows startup. Interestingly the Skype does not appear in the start menu of windows either.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you

None of the new units beyond 15-inch screen will have QuickWeb on which is installed.

Also, there is no option in the BIOS to get this option.

  • HP Mini 1103530NR: HP Mini 1103530NR with Quickweb

Dear Sir/dear Madam, I have a HP Mini 1103530NR with installed Quickweb.  The configuration of HP Quickweb tool reminds me of http://www.splashtop.com/hpquickweb/cs/tutorial_video for a video tutorial, but the website of splashtop gives a "page not found" error message.

Y at - it somewhere else I can see Quickweb tutorial?   Thank you, JC

    Hi @coppens1 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question on your HP Mini 1103530NR and issues with Splashtop. Here's a Youtube video on the HP QuickWeb.

Here is a link to the fix the QuickWeb if you need. The document shows you how to reinstall the missing IOS or QuickWeb if you need.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thank you.

  • Quickweb dm4 went

Updated my Win7-64 with sp60844 5.1.1.0 UEFI and BIOS F.0C 3099se dm4. My QuickWeb miniOS immediately stop work or missing. I tried to reinstall QuickWeb 3.1 using the Manager of HP recovery that is installed. Seemed to install with no error message, still no QuickWeb.

When I press the QuickWeb button with the computer turned off, nothing happens. Tried reset recommended by removing all power and holding down the Start button / stop. After that the will power QuickWeb button on the computer ONCE but not launch QuckWeb, there just a normal windows startup. After a normal shutdown, the QuickWeb button does nothing.

I can't find a more recent version of the QuickWeb software to download, only versions prior to 3.0. I can see the QuickWeb folder on drive FAT32 HP_TOOLS, I just can't run more.

Well, after some searching me pointed in the right direction, I found the root of wobbly acting Quickweb was my SSD cache drive. May not work reliably. I assume this has something to do with the SSD added as disk 0 and bumping the HARD disc to disc 1 (containing the QW folder). It works fine now with the latest version of the BIOS and UEFI.

I'd always be interested by any info on how does the secondary power supply: troubleshooting or check that it is installed. It's a combo of BIOS and MBR? A mini-system operating linux is such a cool tool!

Curious to know if anyone has updated their operating system, perhaps for Pro 7 or 8 Win and kept the feature Quickweb. How did you do? Thank you.

  • QuickWeb on a 3025dx dv6

I just purchased a dv6 from best buy 3025dx and took to implement.

Because I don't like the bloatware that comes on laptops, and I have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x 64, the first thing I did was a clean install of windows.  I was not aware of what was at the time, QuickWeb so I deleted the recovery partition so HP_TOOLS...  Now, I would like to reinstall quickweb, but could not find the installer on the support site.

Because I'm not a fan of most of the stuff that comes on computers, to storebought, I have any use for the recovery of HP...  I just all the drivers to store on an external drive and take an image of the system as soon as I'm done with the Setup program.

I have already created a partition of 2 GB, called HP_TOOLS and would appreciate any help to find the installer for quickweb.  Thank you.

Went to Best Buy and plugged a flash drive into their display model.

Taken from the HPQWLL of C:\swsetup\ folder and it took home...

Fast Web installed and it works fine.
