& quot; censor & quot; / sensitive information blackout curtains

I work for an insurance company and must create system e-learnings. However, I have access to a database of training and use of the information customer of real life examples. I need to make sure that none of the protected health information (names, addresses, etc.) are. Does anyone know how I can "censor" or black this information in Captivate? I tried just white blocks on the text, but in the beginning and the end, the information still shows. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

The quickest way I know to 'black out' information on background is to use a highlight layer. Set the fillcolor/border layer you want, then right-click on the layer and select 'merge in the background. This erases definitively the PHI of the background image, saving you crossfade in / bland numbers.

As for video, you can have a chance in Captivate 3. It is a movement video editor full (FMV) available for Captivate 3 that you can download from the Adobe Web site. I don't know if it will allow you to change the different areas of the video, especially during several images, but it is worth it.

  • System random blackout curtains

    Hello
My computer seems black out randomly. The duration of use varies greatly and there doesn't seem to be a reason for it.
Power outages usually occur after many hours of operation and an occaision it took place while I was faced with the screen of reading a web page, but not actually 'aid' the mouse or the keyboard.

The time between turn it on and blackout curtains is unpredictable but is often many hours rather than near the departure time upward.
No warning is given, the system turned off just as it would if the plug was pulled from wall however power screens light shows this isn't the case. If I press the button 'ON' again once the computer restarts from scratch without any difficulty, but a warning that the system will not stop correctly appears and files are then checked to find errors in the planned way.

I backed up all my files on an external hard drive as a precaution.
Power connections appear to be good and no power outage on power circuits were noted.

My belief is that it is a hardware problem, (what a thermal fuse?) but it is possible that there may be a updated software in the wrong place, but I would appreciate any suggestions to remedy this problem before I release the machine in the hands of the high street techies.

Thanks a lot waiting for a constructive response.

Tell us what 'black out' means to you, of course, we understand what you see.

If your system seems to be working and then it closes off completely and you should use the power button to get there again and it does not actually start the XP reboot again, a process that resembles a heat problem (too much of it).

If your system seems to be restarted on its own, you have another problem, so what's going on or not?

With a thermal cutout, it's generally not going to be any trace of him in the log files - just the CPU stops before he can write anything out if you let the system sit for a while, he can freshen up and last a little longer, and it can start right up again and turn for a while.

I would not go through this process to uninstall your drivers video until you know which video drivers you have and then you can see if you need to update or not.  That makes no sense at this point.

I would go through a process to ensure that your system is well ventilated and all vents are clear and that cooling fans that you actually turn.  Since we do not know if you have a desktop computer or laptop, this is something we can not tell you too much about.

If you have a desktop computer, there is probably a fan on top of your CPU and maybe on your video card and maybe integrated into the case - they all need to be cleaned, blown out and checked to make sure they are all rotating when you are turned on.  You also need to "lubricate" your CPU heatsink with thermal paste if it came loose or dried out.

If you have a laptop, laptops are not designed to run in your lap, because that could block the ventilation.

If you can, I also check all connections and cable to be sure they are secure.  Remove or disconnect everything that will come lose without too much force and put it immediately to do just one thing at a time, so you don't mix.  If you can get to the RAM chips and you have separate I/o cards, get one at a time a reinstall them to make sure they are well connected.

If you think that the system could close more regularly when you make video intense things like watching videos or playing games, so maybe you need to get some fans better who move more air through your system.

You might also have a problem with your power a supply overheating, but I would start with the easy stuff first.

Here is an article that can help you get started:

You do not want your system to look like these examples:

    http://www.theregister.co.UK/2009/11/13/ventblockers/print.html

Now tell us about your system, and we can also see what your situation of video driver:

Because the Microsoft Answers forum does not ask for any type of information system when a new question is asked so we know absolutely nothing about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Do you see that you think not you should see and when you see it?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

    Now make some clarifications:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

  • Pavilion dv9535nr - monitor shows lines with different colors, and then turns into blackout curtains

I have a strong desire to help my father who is a sailor searching for an answer regarding his problem with his laptop.  His laptop is very important to him, because he uses this fact to his work, particularly in the preparation of reports and other kinds of things. They do not have Internet connection that's why I'm the one who send right now for this message.

The problem is that the laptop has no display after having turned it on, it just show a few colored lines, and then after a while, the monitor is totally blackout curtains.  My father tried to use his laptop, even if it does not display, he provided his password and had pressed enter and heard the sound of the operating system. The sound he heard was similar to the sound at the start of the BONE.  He even tried to close the session blindly and he could again hear the sound you hear when you connect on a Vista operating system.

I would like to ask if the problem is on the LCD screen, video card or even with the software? If it's a hardware problem, could you tell if my father could buy the piece of hardware he'd be able to fix his laptop?

If you have ideas to share, I'd be very happy.  Thank you in advance.

OK, I'll post my message here.  Thanks for the tips! Have a great day!

  • Storage of sensitive information

    Hey.

I was wondering what would be the best way to store sensitive information so that only the application can access (ie. passwords and others - must be in plaintext to provide "who sign" kind of phenomenon.).

    Best regards.

There are three ways to store data persistently that all offer protection mechanisms.

    1. PersistentStore - you can wrap any content in a ControlledAccess object while it is accessible only by code signed with your code signing key.
    2. RecordStore - it's the MIDP persistent storage facility; you set a particular store is accessible only by your application or can be shared.
    3. File system - with ExtendedFileConnection, you create files that are accessible by applications signed with your key code (much as with PersistentStore) signature.

The API documentation provides details on the use of these capabilities, and there are examples in the area of BlackBerry and the Web Developer. In particular, see the article knowledge base How to protect objects persistent access by unauthorized applications.

  • Masking of sensitive information in Oracle

    Hi all

I have 2 requirements which I am unable to find a solid solution:

    (1) in PROD, some users should not be able to view sensitive information such as the numbers of SSN/CC. While I can use VPD to hide, I can't hide/mask part, example, I am able to destroy the column SSN using VPD, but don't like XXX-XX-1234.

    (2) and non-prod, I should be able to rub the entire column of sensitive information. For example, the SSN to be replaced by a number at random but with the same format. Example, 123-45-6789 should be scrambled to a number of randon as 444-55-8888 without changing the format of the value of the data column.

Can someone please help me how do you do in your organizations?

PS see that we are on 11.2.0.4, although the products Oracle as ASO is an option we want to study the out-of-the-box solutions

  • Paid the required version for functions that eliminate the details and sensitive information?

We have downloaded version 11 of Acrobat and we need to remove sensitive information such as the details of the property and anything else relating to the documents that we do not want the end user to see. I know that it is possible to right click the icon of the Office for the paper, but with the help of this process does not remove completely all the information that we want to. I just watch the tutorial on how to remove sensitive information by using the function 'protection' (writing), but I don't see the same list of options on my version of acrobat. My guess is that these features are available on the paid version. Is this the case? Also, is it possible to set up acrobat so that by default, all of the sensitive information in the document and icon properties are deleted? We find that if we create a Word document and remove the icon properties and any other sensitive information, to remove that info again on saving in PDF format. The PDF file displays the info we do not want to send and I have tried different methods to remove the icon properties, but he seems to have no effect. Thank you for your help.

The writing tool is only available with the professional version of Acrobat.

  • Hide sensitive information in PDF files

I need to scan a document and send it to a financial advisor, who could share the document with the insurance companies.  The document had sensitive numbers in that I didn't have insurance.  I used the functions of markup Acrobat to draw a line under the sensitive numbers and changed the thickness of the lines to completely hide the numbers.  Then I used Acrobat security features to lock the document so that the markup could not be disabled.  Then, I saved the PDF file.

When you open the scanned in Acrobat Reader, I found that the document is rendered first and then the markup is drawn on the top of the document.  If someone interrupted the process (I have not tried this but I guess anyone determined could do) before the markup is drawn, then the sensitive numbers would be visible.

When you scan documents with sensitive information in them, we scan to a raster format (BMP, etc.) and then to hide sensitive information by painting on the appropriate pixels?

Today, I was sitting idly and had the idea that I could take the above generated PDF document and then print it, markup and all, into a second PDF file, and then maybe the second PDF file would have the sensitive info really obscured and unrecoverable.  I tried and it seems to have worked, open the second file in Acrobat, I'm unable to change or even choose the markup.  But I'm not sure 100% that there is a way to get the news obscured in the second PDF file or not.

What is the recommended method to remove sensitive information from scanned documents?

    Thank you.

You must use the redaction. Many here can give you advice on that. Almost any other method may be cancelled. Another way is to block information on the original with a bit of paper and rescan.

  • working with sensitive information in help

    All,

I'm looking for advice on how to deal with including 'sensitive' information in help. Specifically, there is a demand to add information in the help about how our software security settings are managed (i.e. implementation of the security settings for the user to access certain areas or features to the bosom of our software).

With regard to access, what is the best method or more recommended limit this information to only some users (i.e. system administrators our customers), without their end-users, seeing her? The question would be a 'normal' user access this information and to find a way to change their own settings without the authorization or consent of their sys admin

The most immediate idea would be to maintain separate versions of "Admin" and "End user" of the help system. It would not be a lot of work on my end, but I don't know if long-term interest to have there different versions are circulating, and of course if a user finds where assistance focused on the admin is...

I am open to all ideas. FWIW, we use 7 HR and our help is in the Microsoft HTML (.chm) files.
