  Hi all

  We are facing problems with responsibility 'Oracle installed Base user'. This works well for existing users. When I assign this responsibility to new users, it displays error see screenshot below.

  I googled for this so that they are suggested adding CSI_NORMAL_USER or CSI_ADMIN to the user roles. even after adding user roles still faced the same question. Please suggest me on this.

  One of the questions is: are you talking about a Linux VM VMWare Windows (or Solarfis) VM in VMWare?

  From my experience, there are only a few minor problems with learning or using Linux in VMWare under Oracle. One is that simulated VMWare hardware depends on the load of the host, and that makes any tuning and many aspects of the CARS or other cluster HA / difficult to use consistently.

• Subordinating Oracle install not the name of the computer

  I am trying to create a differentiation parent in Hyper-v with pre-installed Oracle installation and configuration of Oracle is time-consuming and often painful. I created a differencing disk and installed 11g inside and tried to make it generic by removing references to the host name where I could find them and replace it with localhost. Under the dbhome directory, there is a < nom_machine > _orcl folder and rename that stopped the OracleDBConsoleorcl service to start. What I do is it possible?

  I ran into similar situations. The problem is that the Installer database Oracle Linux, for example, parses the line punch in/etc/hosts and uses the first entry under the host name. When people change the hostname of the machine, the DBconsole stops working.

  I've seen a lot of posts that suggested to drop and recreate the repository of the console, which is unnecessary and breaks the default console port assignment. It is easy to solve the problem by creating just a couple of symbolic links:

  ln-s localhost_orcl oel.example.com_orcl

  ln-s OC4J_DBConsole_localhost_orcl OC4J_DBConsole_oel.example.com_orcl

  I think that the solution to the problem is to define the variable ORACLE_HOSTNAME, prior to installation.

  In the log file, I see the following error message:

  First of all, make sure that the database was created successfully and it is in use.

  Secondly, please verify that the database and the database listener are on the rise and you can connect to the database remotely.

  Third, you have a valid entry in the hosts file (post the contents of the file here). Also, thanks for mentioning the name of the domain and host name of the server, that you put up on this machine.

• Client Oracle installed but not ODBC

  I have the oracle client 11.2.0.1.0 installed on a 64-bit windows computer 7.  I need to connect to my MS Visio oracle database.  Previously, I had installed Visio 32-bit, but have since uninstalled and reinstalled 64 bit.   I can't see my database or create an ODBC to it.  I do not have the driver oracle in "ODBC Data Source Administrator" option.

  I downloaded instantclient-odbc-win-x86-64-11.2.0.1.0.zip of oracle, but it says I have to unzip it in the same directory as my instant client.   This is the path where the instant client is but there are a lot of records and I don't know where I have to unpack it?

  Oracle ODBC in package ODBC Client now need some files Oracle Instant Client base or beginner. I hope that you have downloaded the x 64 version of Instant customer base or Basic as well. Download and unzip it in the same folder where you have unpacked x 64 Instant Client ODBC if you don't have yet done. Instant Client downloads for Microsoft Windows (x 64)

  You should not unpack 11.2.0.1.0 Instant Client existing Client host (i.e. C:\oracle\11gR2Client\product\11.2.0\client_1\).

  Maybe you uncompress Oracle Instant Client base and ODBC packages in the C:\oracle\11gR2Client\product\11.2.0\ directory.

  After having unpacked the files, make sure, start the command with administrator privileges prompt and run odbc_install.exe in C:\oracle\11gR2Client\product\11.2.0\instantclient_11_2\ to save the driver ODBC Oracle Instant Client at (instantclient_11_2). Later, you will need to create a DSN for the newly installed Oracle 11.2.0.1 x 64 tip in the console of administration ODBC data source (odbcad32).

• EBS 12.1.1 Oracle install on Oracle Linux 6.6 x 86-64 bit

  I downloaded Oracle EBS 12.1.1 for Linux x 86 64-bit delivery; Oracle Linux version 6.6 as OS guest is Windows 7 as host; md5sum to verify the integrity of files downloaded from the EBS as by Doc ID 802195.1.  StartCD, error message for each file is: FAILED open or read.  I converted the file using the command dos2unix, tried for both versions: 12.1.1.9 and 12.1.1.13 but the problem persists.

  For other directories, got the result of following checksum:

  oraDB/Disk1/dbts/stage/db42_ctx.zip: FAILURE

  oraDB/Disk1/dbts/stage/db43_ctx.zip: FAILURE

  oraDB/Disk2/dbts/stage/db41_ctx.zip: FAILURE

  File Linux64_part_overview.txt shows that these files belong to V15679 - 01_1of3.zip, but in the circles of the delivery, this file does not exist.  files of oraDB in EBS 12.1.1 for Linux x 86-64 in V35224-01_1of3, V35224-01_2of3 and V35224-01_3of3.  This means checksum files are not updated?  I have re downloaded these files but the problem persists.

  I tried to download and check the media several times but the result was even listed above.  Then I started the installation, pre-installation check shows 'File System' failed with the error message: there is no such thing as oraInventory.  I continued, there was no error during installation but after installation controls reveal "JSP" and "Page"Login"failed with the following error message:

  It says very clearly do not remove these lines, and yet you have commented

  you might have used just any presented another host name "localhost".

  I've implemented Oracle 10g R2 RAC data DR Guard for main server Oracle 10 g R2 RAC for EBS R12 (12.0.4).
  I followed Note + ' Business Continuity for Oracle Applications Release 12 on Release 10 gr 2 - Single Instance Database and RAC [452056.1 ID]. +.
  After you configure DR DG, I added DR Database to the Configuration of the Cluster. But I'm not able to start the DR Database via SRVCTL. But able to start the DR Database through Sql * more. I have already mentioned Note: + troubleshooting when srvctl cannot start the RAC instance, but sqlplus can start [ID 844272.1] + and tried to solve the problem but without success.
  
  , I opened SR but still, the problem is not resolved. Are there steps I need to do that is not mentioned in Note 452056.1.

  There is no difference running Oracle in a virtualized environment or on a box. For the performance gain, the same number of steps are necessary as normally are required. Read the guide to performance optimization of Oracle doc site corresponding to your version of db http://tahiti.oracle.com.
