R61i initialize & problems deleting files

I am trying to repair a Lenovo R61i laptop is my daughter's computer. The computer has Type 8932-CTO on the bottom. It was a Vista machine which has been changed to XP factory.

It does not start. Only, it displays the first page of Lenovo and goes to a black screen. Also, he's stuck on a dark screen setting. Fn + beginning of selection does not change. In a dark room, I see the screen well enough. It also has a battery that fails to load.

I ran a test after using the rescue and recovery CD and it doesn't have the following:

  1. Motherboard: Port USB Test
  2. SMBIOS: Standards test
  3. CPU: Test multi-core - misconfigured

Download a live linux cd you will boot from the cd then you can use usb to retrieve the files from the hard drive will appear in the envorment of linux by double clicking it, you can get the files

  • Problem deleting file

Library of images, Windows 7. I have a file photo that I can't remove, the photo is missing but the file remains. When I try to delete the file, a message says:

"Item not found" that no longer located in C:\Users\... and etc.

And so I can't remove it. Can someone help me with this please?

The file IS deleted no doubt already, even if you see a Windows Explorer window.

Note that in Windows 7, the library contains several folders.  By default, these are "My pictures" and "public Images".  Open the folder that you believe that the file (probably "my pictures" or a subfolder in the "My pictures"), and then press the F5 key.  The file now disappears?

If that works, see the "Answer" from Dan Holme here --> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/windows-7-does-not-refresh-folder-views/9d1ede23-2666-4951-b3b9-b6c1ce3d1ebf?page=1&msgId=c675582c-9d60-4447-88d9-a4274bdc5846&tm=1421544061026

  • Problems deleting files in LR CC

I'm new to LR. I use LR CC on a Macbook Pro. I've been editing and culling of the files for several months and discovered that I thought that the files were being deleted were only being removed from the catalog, but remaining on my drive.  My drive is the internal drive on the MB.  When I try more specifically of "remove disc", I get a dialog box indicating: "the file named"H87A2641 '." CR2' could not be moved to the trash folder. »

I checked the permissions and it seems that everyone has read/write access.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Problem deleting file ".lock" to open the catalogue

I couldn't open my Lightroom 4 catalog since a recent accident. I get the error message that it cannot be opened because another application already has its opening. I tried to delete the .lock file as suggested elsewhere on this forum. When I delete the .lock file, it disappears for a second and then immediately popped to the top, and I can not even open the catalog. The catalog is on an external hard drive. Any advice?

    Thank you!

It's really strange. Lightroom creates this file when it starts to run and removes it when it stops. It is the only program on your system that will allow to create a lock file.

Ok. Try this. Move your catalog to an another folder.that isn't a lock file. Also move your insights into the new folder. Now, double-click the catalog in this folder. Lightroom should come up normally (and create a new .lock file in this folder).

  • Toshiba Gigastore 250 GB: problems to delete files

    Hi all

I can't delete files from my Toshiba Gigastore more. Whenever I try, the following message appears: "unable to remove. Access denied. Source is probably always open. "

However, the files are not in use when I try to delete. I tried to delete after a reboot and tried as admin. Nothing works.

The problem started to occur after the Gigastore has been disconnected from the computer (hot plugout).

My OS is W2K SP4 (with the latest security updates). The GigaStore didn't work properly from the beginning, because it is not possible to disconnect the USB when the system is running (this problem is known and described in the user manual).

Howe can I overcome the problem without reformat the drive? Maybe it's possible to boot linux and delete files on the GigaStore? Is this desirable, that linux does not seem to get along well with NTFS?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Led

    Hello

I'm not very familiar with the Toshiba Gigastore.
Well have you tried to remove the USB port on the Device Manager and then reinstall the drivers?
I have never tried this solution, but maybe this will help.
    Please check for this possibility.

  • When you delete files (in Windows 7) Explorer hangs on 'calculate' the size of the files to delete. This problem also occurs in Windows Vista (out and included SP1).

    When this problem happens:
    * You try to delete files, from any folder: a folder user protected (such as your desktop), a protected windows folder (such as program files) or an unprotected folder you created yourself (for example, a folder named "test" on your C permit)
    * The problem only occurs when you try to delete files using Windows Explorer. The problem only IS NOT OCCUR when you delete the files from another system using one hand (log on to another computer, open a shared folder, for example by opening \\windows7system\c$\test and try to remove this folder).

    What's happening:
    * Explorer crashes when 'Calculating' the features of folder.

    Question:
    * Why is this happening? It seems to be a problem in Explorer, not in the delete code actually (since the problem does not occur with one hand)

I don't know the underlying cause or how to fix it. However, something like Unlocker would work.

  • I have a BIG problem, capture files instant som deleted by mistake

I managed to do something very stupid and need help badly.

I had the same problem that I had fun som there that Veeam (our backup and replication software) could not remove pictures that I took of nightly backups on a virtual machine that is as a secondary domain controller, and more important, file server, called dc2.ourdomain.com.

Snapshots where setting up and I needed to get rid of them.

I took a snapshot today at 22:11 THIS, then I was going to consolidate with delete everything in the Snapshot Manager, but it gave an error message, same as last time.

So, my next step was to stop the virtual machine and clone.

But before starting I wanted to remove the old files som pre the same virtual machine cloning a couple of weeks. I have inexplicable management agents and would try to delte for a sesion ssh (I hade some problems with it not be possible to delte them).

But stupid stupid me has managed to remove the snapshot of the vm of production 3 files, dc2.ourdomain.no - 000001 - ctk.vmdk' and clone.dc2.barentsnett.no - 000003.vmdk. I think it is old clichés, but of course now the virtual machine does not start and I problaby f * d.

My support contract with vmware do not apply this late at night so I can not get help there before tomorrow morning when all the inhabitants of the officees arrives.

All I could think was tipping to the replica that was taken at aprox. 05:00 this morning. It worked very well, but of course all the work done by a large number of people and companies the hole is missing.

As I said I took a snapshot before you do this and the deleted files beeing come before the creation of the replica, I think. Is it somehow possible to join things since the last snapshot in the replica now running and then clone it through like a new virtual machine? Or is todays worke gone forever.

It is not possible to recreate the files of the linux on the esx host file system, as we can do it with a special software on Windows?

PS! I am willing to pay someone to talk on the phone now, if they think they can help me.

Hope someone knows something about it.

  • Full Time capsule not deleting files

I have my MacPro & iMac saved to Time Machine. It works very well to find a lost file.

BUT, when HD 2 TB recently completed, he ceased to backup and I had to wipe the HD & start over.

I thought that Time Machine would sequentially remove oldest files, once that it filled to the top.

I have check the disk (Option - Menu TM) & it checked OK

Is there a setting that I missed?

    Thanks for the tips!

    ... John

Time Machine has no problem deleting old incremental files to make room for the new files in incremental backups.  The keyword here is 'extra', which are small files that take up very little space.

But... and this is a big BUT... If the Time Capsule disk is full, and you try to save a large amount of data that normal... What can happen if you have recently updated the operating system on your Mac, or added large files from media or other types of files for the beams of Mac... then Time Machine, because it can not remove enough files to make room for the new more normal backup.

In this case, you have a few options:

    (1) add an another Time Capsule and start new backups to go

    (2) add a USB key to the current time Capsule and start new backups to go

    (3) clear the Time Capsule disk and start over again with new backups

If you don't mind clear on the Time Capsule backup history and start all over again, it is of course the most economical way to continue. If you want to keep your old backups intact, then go with option 1 or 2.

  • Cannot delete files from sharing

    I have a ReadyNas Duo performer 5.3.11 v2

I have a folder that I use for saved documents. Now I am unable to delete all the files and folders in this directory. I spent in actions and reset the permissions. This has not fixed the problem. I have no user or security on the NAS.

I noticed that there is a Beta from 2013. That would solve this problem? Or y at - it another way to fix this?

Short answer: I had to go out for a few hours and now it works. I don't know why it broke, and now I don't know why it started working. I did reset on sharing permissions and restarted the NAS server. Maybe he had to make a pass to reset each queue (?).

But you're just StephenB, good fishing. HTTP has been activated as a service, but not for sharing.

He now happily deleting files 11 693. Thanks for your help.

  • "File permission error" during deleting files on Windows 7

    Hello

I'm running Labview 2011 and have an application that has been developed to run on Windows XP. The part of the application deletes a file from the System32 folder, and then replaces it with another version of the same file (based on a specific condition). It worked perfectly on Windows XP. Now that I've migrated to Windows 7, I changed the path to access the SysWOW64 folder, where now stands the same file. Now when I run the program, during the phase of elimination, I get the following error:

    Possible reasons:

LabVIEW: File permission error. You do not have the correct permissions for the file.

When I try to manually delete the file in the SysWOW64 folder, I get a popup to confirm the progress of the removal. The file is then deleted.

Is there anyway that I can get permission to delete the file is automatically? I also tried to use the "Set permission" VI with the permission set to 511 (octal 777) but that VI also threw up the same file permission error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Arun

Try to run your application with the option "Run As Administrator".  Windows 7 is very restrictive on who can do what.  It's generally a bad idea that requires deleting file to a system folder.  I think you should consider using a temporary directory to avoid this problem.

    Habiba

    Hello HabibaKS ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about deleted files and wanted to help.

Have you checked the trash to see if they're still there. Normally, when you delete a file, it goes right in the trash and you can restore it then, if you have not emptied the trash.

If the file is not there, the process is much more difficult.  You will need to acquire a Windows Data Recovery application to recover the files - and even in this case, which is not guaranteed.

My recommendation is to try to Active@File Recovery Pro.  It's free to download and try - but any serious data recovery requires purchasing a license.  If you can not afford, you can also try using "Recuva" - the very nature of the product, but not as good to recover lost files.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
