    Hi Vandana,

    Thanks for your time.

I commented the line on which the IP 127.0.0.1 is shown in/etc/hosts on all nodes.

file/etc/hosts is same nodes.when I do a ping to the public ip address, it is show the IP local hots i'e 127.0.0.1 not the real that I craved in the file/etc/hosts.

After that I comment that line of hole and he ping is resolved.

  • Disable the single node rac 11 GR 2

    Hello

We have 2 node rac 11r2 aim to test how to disable a node oracle 11 g 2?

    Thank you

    Hello

Still not very clear, but what I understand is -.

"We have 2 node oracle rac 11rg r2 for the objective test when running on the database of the two node 1 & 2 we must restart the node 2nd server sometimes." What happens to the databases and cluster? "

As you're running 2 bow TIE, if stop you the instance on node 2, db will still be available for access that users can connect to the instance on node 1 1. If take you down the instance and the cluster on node 2, node always 1 and 1 instance will be available to the user.

  • How do I know the master node RAC?

    Hi Experts,

We have implemented 2-node RAC 11 g R2 on Linux platform. My query is how do we know that the master node RAC?

    Thank you
    Vincent

    Hi Vincent

    Good query.

1 Master can be found by searching ORACLE_HOME/log/nodename/cssd/ocssd.log.
    2. for the master of a queue with Oracle RAC resource, you can select from v$ view ges_resource. Check the column "master_node."

    It could be that useful...

    Thank you

  • Telnet between the 2 nodes before installing RAC 11 GR 2

    Hi Oracle RAC guru,

For the 2 nodes were installed RAC (GR 11, 2) clusterware, they need to be able to telnet each other with port open? and ping scan name must be successful before you install the clusterware software? operating system is Linux x86_64

    Thank you!

    SC

    Hello

the VIP and the SCAN IPs aren't yet to the ping requests (let alone telnet).

One of the main tasks of a cluster should provide these entry points. So they will be available as soon as your IM is running, but not before.

Make a res stat crsctl - you on your clusters existing and you will see the VIP and VIP SCAN (online) resources. If they don't are not online no VIP don't will be 'plugged' on top of your network cards.
You can also see the IP address with ifconfig-a on existing clusters. And you will see the difference on your cluster "clean".

    Concerning
    Sebastian

  • 11 GR 2 RAC - Database Control - agent system of is not the second node

I have a new system of the RAC node 2 11 GR 2 RHEL5 64 bit - it's a testbed at the moment. I installed Database Control because at the moment I don't have a separate grid control server available for this configuration. After you run DBCA, control of the database has started very well, and I could connect to the console and see the two available nodes. On a subsequent restart of the two nodes, I can start the dbconsole leave the first node, but the agent does not start on the second node. My understanding is that spear the dbconsole of node 1 should start the agents on both nodes. Is this correct? I don't know why the agent is not running or implementation on the second node. How can I start it? GC, I could do emctl start the agent, but apparently for the control of the database, this isn't an option.

I tried again with several times (with left-hand) but the problem was still there. Can you explain to me?

-Why, after running root.sh on the first node, all IP SCANNER interfaces was created on this node? This is the reason why root.sh fails on the second node.

    -How to solve?

I use the server for address scan local DNS resolves to 3 IPs, and I can run script runcluvfy.sh with success on both nodes.

    I thank in advance

    PS:

I use two virtual machines in vmware. After running root.sh on the first node, I checked and found this funny information:

  • The problem of Script root.sh - ora.asm and ASM and Clusterware battery failed

    People,

Hello. I want to install Oracle 11 g RAC 2 using 2 VMs (rac1 and rac2) whose BONES are Oracle Linux 5.6 in VMPlayer according to the website http://appsdbaworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/11gr2-rac-on-linux-56-using-vmware.html

I'm installing network infrastructure. On step 9/10 - run script /u01/app/grid/root.sh for 2 virtual rac1 and rac2 machines.

After running root.sh rac1 successfully. I run root.sh in rac2 and get an error like below:

    (3) could start Oracle Clusterware battery

The runInstaller is in the first VM rac1. My question is:

Any folk that understand how to solve the root.sh script in problem rac2 (3 fails to ora.asm, ASM and Clusterware battery as stated above)?

  • Adding more large size Redo log groups in RAC, ASM

    Hi people,

    Version of database - 10.1.0.4.0
Version of the OS - AIX 5.3
    Node 2 RAC and ASM

We had 4 groups of log roll forward of any size on the two nodes.yesterday, I added 4 new larger size groups using pl/sql developer tool and deleted the old 2 redolog groups. But I'm not able to remove the rest of the 2 groups of old.

ORA-01567 a log2 fall would have less than 2 log files for example 1.

Our redolog files are the SAN and the two points of the same storage node. When I pulled this command line query

    SELECT v$ logfile.member, v$ logfile.group #, v$ log.status, v$ log.bytes
    V $ log v$ logfile
    WHERE v$ log.group # v = $logfile.group #;

I had the same result for both nodes.

The problem that I think, is that all 4 new newspaper groups are added to instance 2 and its old 2 grouips are are also deleted.

    Now my question is that:

1 should I I added groups of redo log separately on the two nodes of storage is the same for both nodes?
2 redologs groups are defined separately for each node?

How can I assign 2 new groups of newspapers to instantiate redo 1?

    Kind regards

Redo log group should minus 2 groups each of the thread.
But it is good to use 3 groups... each of the threads.

and 2 members on each of the groups.

all redo check journal... from v$ session, v$ logfile, v$ archvied_log

If you mean the idea to determine approximately the size of the log to roll forward... you can check newspaper alerts.

    or

    ALTER session set nls_date_format = "YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS;
    Select INST_ID select, name, control gv completion_time $ archived_log by 3.1.

    Good luck

  • application of sequence

    Hi Master,

I have a requirement on the sequences. Please find below my requirement. Please advise me.

Please explain without order in the sequence.

    Thanks to the adv.

    Concerning

    AR

You listed the choices in order from best to the worst, while you seem to have a few ideas yourself.  You option 2 with ORDER will require additional communication between two nodes of the RAC so that they can coordinate the order of numbers in sequence between thermselves.  I'm not sure that it's worth to have ordered sequences.

You should also be aware that even if you declare the ordered sequence, this does not mean that a single session will receive an ordered set of values contiginous.  Everything what means of CONTROL are that the first request for a sequence value will get 1 second then 2 etc., even if they are on different nodes of the RAC.  However, even with an orderly sequence, if there are two session running on the same node, they behave similarly, so session 1 could easily obtain values 1, 3, 5, 6, 9.

For your second question, the second batch on node 1 will star with 6 (assuming that the sequence on node 1 does not get old in the cache).  When using the values of 20 he get another batch of 20, will launch usng those.  Assuming that this node 2 has already asked another batch, who would be 41-60.

Unless you insert thousands of lines at a time, a cache of 20 is generally sufficient for most cases.  There is no real harm to have a larger cache, but maybe there's not a significant advantage.  You should test different cache sizes in your environment.

Even if you did not mention it, it's always good to stress that the sequences are not intended to free space, or used to indicate the insertion order.

  • Upgrade of database of trade electronics tp 12 c CARS

    Dear all,

We intend to upgrade our e-business 12.1.3/11.2.0.3@Solaris10(Single node DB) 12.1.3/12c@Solaris 11 (Oracle VM, 2-node Rac ASM), this new plan is certified with Oracle.

I need to know the prons and cons of Experts please.

    Thank you.

I always advice to break down combined upgrades and to be lucky that you can run some configurations of profit and go with it.

I see a database upgrade, a switch to OS or upgrade, a server switch (at least when using the 2nd node RAC), a conversion of RAC, a conversion of the ASM

One of the questions that must be asked is: you can do in a weekend? Or, in a long weekend?

People often confuse things can be done and what can be done properly. And then there's something called back: how long is forecast to return to the original configuration, when something goes wrong in the middle of your actions? Step 1 of these operations would still be: ensure a good backup. For some clients, this may affect you back 5, 8 or 10 hours. You know how long it takes to restore a full system.

Basically, your original question may seem easy, but can be developed for hours on the subject. The question cannot be asked regardless, since a lot depends on what your customer is running at the moment, and the requirements to make the necessary changes.

  • Check the before cluvfy installation fails on nodes

I'll put up a RAC cluster in Oracle 11.2.0.3 on both nodes to Windows 2008R2.

I have completed all pre-installation tasks (I hope) and I'd like to check this by running:

cluvfy comp sys database Pei n all

using the standalone download of cluvfy - I have not installed all the Oracle software yet.

This completes successfully on the remote node but fails on the local node (one that I run in).

There are a lot of output, but these seem to be the main problems:

However, there is a folder in the oraremservice of appeal for temporary destination and there are files DLL and the RemoteExecService.exe in there.

There are a number of log files in the temp directory, for example called sprvmcli_9885533.log (the number is generated only every time).

When running against the local node, these contain the following:

01/10/13 14:44:42 trying to open a named pipe

01/10/13 14:44:42 about to open the pipe

    01/10/13 14:44:42 call create file

    01/10/13 14:44:42 sprvcli: retval = 7

When the cluvfy runs successfully against the remote node, this has a lot more information in, and the errors do not occur.

I use the utility cluvfy incorrectly for this stage of the operation, or is there something wrong with my setup?
