I did ssh, rsh from two nodes then I face issue. I modified /etc/hosts.equiv

Now I can do rsh two nodes and node itself.

But for ssh I can't

    Hello

So I guess you have some files in ASM, see your first existing file structure

    Select file_name

    from dba_data_files;

and to add to an existing table, the example below (even if you're better sticking with OMFs!)-is that what you are looking for?

    SQL > create tablespace TEST1

    Created tablespace.

  • 12 c to Oracle rac install on VBox fail with PRVF-7617

    Hello gurus,

I try to install rac 12 c on virtualbox on windows 7 after fantastic notes of oraclebase.com and a blog by Michael t. Dinh,

Everything went past ok including setting up dns, nslookup and the second note of cloning until the point I need to ping to the IPs of each node (I can ping the public IPs without problem). I thought that this was a fluke and went on to launch the installation program failed to step 5 with the following error:

Cause - the installer has detected that network interface eth2 retains no connectivity on all nodes of the cluster.  Action - make sure that the chosen interface has been configured on all cluster nodes.  Additional information:

-PRVF-7616: node for subnet "10.0.0.0" connectivity failure between "rac1 - eth2: 10.10.10.11 ' and ' rac2 - eth2: 10.10.10.12 '-Cause: connectivity for the < subnet > mentioned node could not be checked between two identified interfaces (< node - > < interface >: < IP addr >)."  -Action: Check configurations of interface for network interfaces identified on the nodes shown using utilities like ping or ipconfig.  -Node connectivity failed for the subnet "10.0.0.0" - Cause: not available problem - Action: user not available Action - PRVF-7617: node connectivity between "rac1: 10.10.10.11 ' and ' rac2: 10.10.10.12 ' failed - cause: node connectivity between two interfaces identified (< node >: < IP addr >) could not be verified.  -Action: Check configurations of interface for network interfaces identified on the nodes shown using utilities like ping or ipconfig. Summary of rac1 in rac1 rac2 nodes failed: 10.10.10.11

Back to my knots, is the output of ifconfig-a:

  • Cluster verification utility Oracle failed with the INS-20802 then install 12.1.0.2 on Oracle Linux 7.1 x 64

    Hello!

You want to install Oracle Clusterware 12.1.0.2 on Oracle linux 7.1 x 64. When installing, everything was fine, except the last step - utility of Cluster Oracle verification failed with the INS 20802.

In the log file, I found:

INFO: From audits to clock using Network Time Protocol (NTP) synchronization...

< ACTION > if you plan to use CTSS for time synchronization, then NTP configuration must be uninstalled on all nodes of the cluster. < / ACTION >

But of all the nodes ntpd is running:

    [root @pdc-sap-ascs0 ~] # ps ax | grep ntpd

    19090?        SS 0:05 / usr/sbin/ntpd u ntp:ntp g - x

So, why postinstall auditor has not found of ntpd running?

This situation was prior to installation, I started, but this time I ignored the warning.

Thank you very much for your answers!

The problem is that in both servers, I want to use ntp, and I wrote in the configuration on both servers,

    Server ntp.myorg.local iburst

but we use two IPs for ntp, both resolved through dns servers, so in my case the first server got a single for the ntp server ip address and then got another ip. It was a problem and check postinstall determine that the servers use different time sources and do not like this situation.

Once I changed ntpd config to use ips, check postinstall succeeded.

  • Oracle RAC with MRS 5.1

Hi, good day to you all...

Did anyone here ever has implemented or tested Oracle RAC protected with Vmware SRM?

VMware SRM 5.1 does support Oracle RAC?

AFAIK, the VMs CARS they shared virtual disk to another RAC VMs. in my VMs RAC Setup - B had 7 virtual disk mapped to RAC - A VMs and everything works very well in a production environment, and they intend to protect this RAC VMs with VMware SRM 5.1. We use replication Array with EMC RecoverPoint as SRA.

When I try to test failover my protection group which is containing these two VMs, VMS in RAC - B not able to start with the following error

The virtual disk mapping prevented virtual machines to start upward, and there is no snapshot of the CAR - A or B - CARS.

Can I modify the virtual machine starts action of the stimulus package, im setting of the RAC - B to not power on the recovering site. map manually the virtual disk after the failover of the trial and the RAC - B still cannot start the system.

Please give me some lights, how to map the virtual disk after failover to the recovering site.

    Thanks before

    Rgds

    Good find!

CTK files are created by ESX when CBT (changed block Tracking) is enabled. CBT is used by the backup software and is not supported with disks using shared bus.

So it can certainly cause problems. Do you have a backup solution for virtual machines?

CBT can be turned off (requires a virtual machine downtime):

  • Why oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 give more trouble than oracle 11.2.0.1?

    Hi all

I just want to know, why oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 giving more problem than oracle 11.2.0.1?
    The problems here:

1 resolved multicast (multicast open or patch)
Miladin Modrakovic through. His blog issue-with-oracle-11-2-0-2-new-redundant-interconnect give me a solution to open Multicast 230.0.1.0 on cisco switch

2 DNS problem (PRVF-5636: DNS response for an unreachable node time exceeded "15000" ms)
Someone has already asked on this forum: runcluvfy failed with PRVF-5636, but still no solution for this problem of PRVF-5636.

    Thank you

    Hello

I just want to know, why oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 give me more problem than oracle 11.2.0.1?

You can use Oracle Support to fix all bugs on Oracle software. Simply open the SR

1 resolved multicast (multicast open or patch)

This bug is documented for the Clusterware installation, find the Bug 9974223:
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11882_01/READMEs.112/e17129/TOC.htm#CHDIEHCH

    * Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2 Installation or upgrade may fail due to the requirement of multicast [1212703.1 ID] *.

2 DNS problem (PRVF-5636: DNS response for an unreachable node time exceeded "15000" ms)

This isn't an Oracle problem, but a DNS problem that can cause instability in the clusterware, YES does not proceed without resolving the problem in your nodes.

    Date of arrival:

    /etc/resolv.conf
    /etc/nsswitch.conf

find line hosts: on file nsswitch.conf
The order of keywords on this line indicates the order in which your SO references the name services. (dns or host file)

  • How to install Oracle RAC using GR 11, 2 on Win 7 32 bit from scratch?

    HIII,

    I am a cool and I have a win 7 32 bit with oracle 11 g 2 system.

I want to install RAC with two servers or more, but I don't know too much about.

I tried searching on google but all they give information into pieces (for win 7) or Linux on (please tell me why its all Linux everywhere not Windows).

Please let me know if there is a site where I can find installation step by step from scratch.

What are the basic requirements (/ software if necessary).

    Thank you.

    Hello

Firstly forget Windows! Oracle is mainly designed for Linux systems. Oracle as a true process runs multiple on the Linux machines while under Windows, it runs as a single process with multi-thread.

Using memory - huge pages, single CPU run queue, drop-outs, storage... etc are a lot of concepts.

Also Windows is one of the most poorly designed operating systems, you must use only for watching movies of cute kitten on youtube... Believe me, you don't want to learn Oracle on Windows...

Install virtualbox and then configure Oracle Enterprise Linux on it at first... By the way you have to deal with the DNS server of version 11.X, RAC, you can start with 10g for now.

ORACLE-BASE has all the installation steps explained detailly, search for "oracle rac install base" on google.

I also explained on my blog, but it is a little more advanced installation by using the ZFS storage Simulator. The DNS server installation is also explained: http://ilkertaysi.com/2013/11/11/oracle-rac-installation-with-zfs-storage/

Someone at - he encounter the same problem with 12.1.0.2 by deploying the CDB for Grid Infrastructure Management repository? Is there something special with UEK3 (3.8.13 - 35.3.4.el7uek) on 7 OEL? Any necessary special kernel parameter (although the runInstaller controls do not mention)? I'm totally tapped by GI 12.1.0.2.

    Thank you.

    Best regards

    Stefan

    Hi guys,.

I was finally able to solve this problem.

She was related to a memory on the provisioning of problem in the virtual environment as both nodes are VMs. Unfortunately none of these errors of memory were populated / pushed somehow in the virtual machine.

    Best regards

  • PRVF-4007: verification of equivalence for the user failed

    Hello everyone,

I work a 2 node RAC installation, I installed CARS many times before, but I just ran the script with these settings

    runcluvfy.sh stage pre - crsinst - n rac1, rac2-verbose

The last time I ran it I don't have these errors, but I think I used the user account name "oracle."

but this time I'm using another account of Linux, you have to use the name real = oracle for the account name?

The Linux account I use is not called "oracle".

This is the error I get when I run the script...

Yes, you can use a separate account (e.g. "grid").  In fact, I always recommend a separate account, especially from 11 GR 2.

Must user equivalence be configured.  It is documented in the installation guide.  You can use the installer universal to facility user equivalence if you don't want to do it manually.

  • How Oracle Clusterware Oracle RAC and 3rd-party Clustering with them

I have some questions on how Oracle, Oracle RAC and 3rd party clustering CLusterware fit between them.

Q1. My understanding is that the Infrastructure Grid Oracle Clusterware is Oracle's Clustering solution that allows applications to cluster? that is, it is a general clusterware solution to compete with those already on the market. Is this correct?

Q2. So why CARS is necessary for the Oracle cluster databases? An Oracle database is not just considered one application like any other? So why can not just use you GI / Clusterware to gather what you would do for any other application? Why so you need RAC to the Clusterware Summit?

Q3. Is it is possible to combine an Oracle database using 3rd party of clustering and not use Oracle Clusterware and CARS at all that is can you say cluster, an Oracle database using say Sun Clusters, Clustering AIX or Linux native same clustering?

Q4. If the RAC is purely for Oracle Cluster databases - what is with the title "Real Application Clusters"? What's real on this subject?, what to ask?

Q5. I also read that RAC can use 3rd party of clustering. However if you decide that this is the case, then you need to install Oracle Clusterware when even (I think for interconnection must be created to allow the merger with Cache between Instances of node?).

Is this the case?  If yes why never bore you with 3rd party clusters? -Since you will have to install Oracle Clustering anyway - and I probably have to license (all I can think about is the scenario that you already have a cluster of 3rd party in place and you decide that you need to use the same material for a database cluster)?

    All wisdom greatly appreciated,

    Jim

Yes, with 10g, you had to use the CRS, and with 11g, to use the GI.  For 9i RAC, you would use Verits Cluster and Sun Cluster or anything else.

11g RAC to GI.  As above, you can use clusterware extra if needed.  I gave the example above where to a 10g RAC we used the CRS to the cluster database/listener/vip and allowing groups of volume and filesystem in HACMP cluster.  File systems were not shared, but could switch to another node failure node, who has been treated by HACMP.  The volume of the groups containing the raw devices were shared volume groups.  For 11g, I never used extra clusterware on top of CRS and have always used ASM which is part of the GI.

The application provider only certified database to run on 10g on AIX with raw devices.  What is strange about that?  It would be unusual that you probably expect to use ASM instead of raw devices, but it is what it is.

See the following Note of Oracle for more information: using Oracle Clusterware with vendor Clusterware FAQ (Doc ID 332257.1)

It is perhaps easier to explain if you can explain what problem you are trying to solve?
