• Exchange 2007 (SBS 2008) does not have activesync for Palm Centro (Sprint)

  I recently migrated my SBS2003 (Exchange 2003) to SBS2008 (Exchange 2007). ActiveSync worked very well in 2003, but now does not.

  The phone returns this error when you test the parameters: "connected to the server with an incorrect version. Communicate with HER. »

  I am HER and have no answer.

  I'm not (and never was) using SSL and had never installed a certificate on the phone. Everything just port 80.

  Nothing has changed on my firewall except directs traffic to the new internal server IP instead of the old server internal IP address.

  I read several posts here, especially of Imaginos - those who have been of great posts.

  I deleted the account on your phone and recreated.

  Installed the firmware to 1.07 - SPNT on the phone and the hard reset. I have no contacts or e-mail on the phone.

  I deleted the service strategy Regional by default on the server, tested, and implemented the policy of Centro, tested again - and it still does not work.

  I work on this for a few days now and can't seem to make progress.

  Any help would be appreciated. (especially of Imaginos)

  It seems that the solution is the following:
  No matter what options are ticked IIS Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync, a certificate is required by SBS2008 (SBS2003 would using port 80 instead of 443)

  You must create the certs.pdb using the change of certificate palm tool and transfer to your phone using the hotsync cable. (if you want to self certify)

  create a DNS host name (a) on your public DNS for outdoors. to your public IP address. (SBS2003 used mail. default )

  Imaginos figured this out and tested it with his Palm. did I mention I can't thank enough?

• Hot Sync freezes on the calendar... Centro (sprint) & Windows XP

  Hope you can help... have you tried most of the suggestions thread.   Hot Sync & Palm Desktop (v6.2) worked without problem.   Palm Desktop has suddenly didn't show no data in Contacts or calendar.   Subsequent attempts to Hot Sync froze during the synchronization of calendar.  After reading the discussion over there, I followed the procedures to uninstall Palm Desktop (including registry changes).  Re-install the v6.2 met Frost even during the first attempt to Hot Sync.   Uninstalled v6.2 new & re-installed only the older version of office provided on CD-ROM.   Same result during the first HotSync (a gel or a continuous loop during the calendar sync... no error codes displayed).  My unit features: Centro from Sprint with software v1.08 (operation without any problem).   Specifications of the PC: Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2.   Hot sync with USB cable connection.

  Additional comments: my HotSync problem is now solved.   If you encounter a similar problem, please read the following threads for the solution.

  I hate my Centro but I'm stuck with it. I pay for data services plan with Sprint, and for the last 3 months, I have no power vision service. I'm angry because I'm paying money for services not rendered.  LOL how can I make it work again. I have no email, no web services. I did a hard reset, soft reset and lost my free games I got from Palm (bummer I loved them really). Is there a techie out there who can help me?

  OK called Sprint at 09:00 this morning and so far no help. I'm a geek who is not a geek. She doesn't know what she's doing and not more than I have. So far, it's the blind leading the blind. Now, I was transferred to an another techno (male) don't know if that makes a difference.  Maybe I should just burn the dang phone. I have a hate/hate relationship with it.  No more Centro phones for me. Asked me to enter a code # # 3282, which brings you to the screen of data, and it did not work for me.  He took me by the movements to reset the phone how he was sent for keeping me my fingers crossed... now, that it has stagnated.  They're going to send me another phone. I just wanted you to know all the steps for future users.  Good luck and thanks for your help.

  I bought DBFixIt and is no longer detects errors. I did have a successful hotsync because I removed all blob/delete files/etc. I use Palm Desktop and Outlook.

• Palm Z22 and GPS?

  My son just got this Palm Z22 for me for Christmas! I've never owned a Palm before, so I'm a "Newbie Uber" . I tried to search positions, but so many returns and not quite good questions. I want to know if this Z22 has the ability to organize the windows mobile OS, as I see that is necessary in order to run a number of GPS programs. Anyone?  Thank you very much in advance!

  So basically you want to load Windows Mobile on the Palm OS, unfortunately it's impossible because there is no way to Flash the Rom to another OS. This would also seriously turn your gift in a brick. Now on the right to do, unfortunately using GPS on the Zire 22 would also be impossible since the program is too large and might not work properly on your device.

  The Tungsten E2 and the Palm TX are much better devices to handle GPS software.

• Z22 data do not backup to hard disk

  I have a Z22 and I installed the software on my laptop that is running Windows Vista.  I installed the software on July 21, 2008.  It was a new Palm Z22 to a new computer laptop.  I created a new username "Sara Janet Nash".  When I have hot synch, perfectly data is transferred between the device and the desktop software, but it seems to me (and I'm not a geek so maybe I understood how things work) as if the data is not saved on my hard drive, IE in C: / Program Files / Palm.  In this case, it is a record of user name called 'Janet', also dated July 21, 2008 (date of installation) and everything inside this folder (address, calendar, etc.) is also all the dated July 21, 2008, as are all the .dat and .bak files.  I was expecting the files containing the data that is on my device and the desktop computer for example address book, to be stamped with the date of when I have synced last warm (and I have hot synch every day).

  I uninstalled the software Palm, deleted from the registry and re-installed the software, but the username folder that is created in c:/Program Files / Palm when I made the first hot sync was automatically named "Janet" again.  I thought that the relocation had solved the problem as the second time that I have hotsynched, all the files that were backed up have been dated and timed as changed to match the date and time in the HotSync log.  However, when I hotsynched today, although the data was perfectly exchanged between the device and the desktop software, none of the files / folders in c:/Program Files / Palm have been updated to show the current date as a 'last modified date '.

  Is it makes sense?  I spent nearly two hours in the chat sessions with the help of the Palm and we saw throughout in circles, perhaps because I was not explain the problem clearly enough.

  If anyone can help, I would be really grateful - I got the failure of two Z22 on me in the past, and because I was not manually backed up my user folder, I lost a ton of data that's why I want to be sure that it is stored on my hard drive so I can make a physical copy and save it somewhere safe.  Thank you.

  Hello.. Welcome to the forums of Palm.  The first key here is what version of Palm desktop have you?  In palm desktop to go for help - on palm desktop, and I believe you will find that it is the version 6.22.  With 6.22, the path to data files going to the folder c:\program files\palm (or palmone) \user name to os desktop\ folder user name mydocuments\palm.  So you problem to find your data.

  I recently bought a new AT & T Centro for my wife and was very excited to see the software available for download with her bonus. However, when I try to download, the site asks me to enter the serial number of the phone, but it gives me the message: "* Please enter a valid serial number."

  I'm in one S/N that I can find on both the box and the phone.

  This is my last resort. I am running Windows XP Pro sp3 for Outlook 2002, latest hot sync software. Followed by suggestions of telephone support Palm, ran through all the troubleshooting guides and still cannot sync with Outlook. I uninstalled all the software and did all the updates. Anyone successful with hot sync and Outlook?

  Yes, I can sync with palm desktop. I have chatted with tech support and have tried every trick in the book. Log says 'outlook calendar synchronization failed' "contacts outlook synchronization failed. I used to get the error messages but no more. I just want to sync with outlook on my PC at home. Used to have exchanges implemented and I remove exchange e-mail address as I no longer use it. Export to outlook on the desktop of plam is heavy at best when it comes to combine the fields. I use the latest lines. As I said, the other day, I spent a lot of time chatting with the tech people and let them look at my office. They have not found a fix. HELP and thank you.

• Centro does not connect to the synchronization with Windows/Palm HotSync

  My Centro ceased to sync with my Windows XP computer.  It just does not connect.  Did the soft reset, restart windows, etc.  No problem in Device Manager.

  Same Centro and sync cable fine on the Linux machine using gnome-pilot and lines of development to access the same data exchange.

  Assuming that you can navigate through your windows machine.

  1. open Device Manager
  2. when your device is connected, you will see palm os handheld
  3. click straight and say to uninstall the driver
  4 disconnect your device and soft reset it
  5. reconnect the appliance and leave it to reinstall the driver

  This will force reinstall the driver and also tell us if there are errors with the driver.

• Peculiarities of the Centro

  Most of the other phones I have ever had to enter a number and various things with it - as put it away in the contacts list. The only way I found to do this is after a call. It prompts you to add a contact and disappears before you get out the pen or have the time to think about it - never to be found. Is there another way to do this?

  If you reference at the bottom of your screen that is not indicating that you have a voicemail instead is to let you know speed dial it is set up for voice mail, if you delete this speed dial that will disappear.
