Peculiarities of the Centro

Most of the other phones I have ever had to enter a number and various things with it - as put it away in the contacts list. The only way I found to do this is after a call. It prompts you to add a contact and disappears before you get out the pen or have the time to think about it - never to be found. Is there another way to do this?

I also have this alarm flashing in upper left with no indication as to what it refers. I carefully checked all my planned receipts and still does not know what he is. most other - same cheapo phones give a much better interface and are much more user friendly, at least as far as I saw it now.

If you are missing the prompt to add the contact you can enter the "call log", choose the number you want to add, and then click on 'Add Contact' at the bottom of the screen. It is nice because if you cannot add a person immediately, the option remains for some time.

As far the Bell, tap it, it will give you a list of 'things' that you missed.

  • The Centro requires the DST update?

The Centro requires the DST update?

    http://www.Palm.com/us/support/downloads/dst_palmos.html#downloadinstall

Yes or no, the technical document would be better if he the Centro to mention specifically.

Without this update is not necessary for the Centro.

  • Contacts transfer from the Centro to the pre more

I downloaded 3.0 echo to my PC, but have not changed the phones yet until I get some tips. Can I transfer my contacts to my Sim Card before I turned in my pre? I want to basically put all my info from Centro meadow and continue to use the desktop computer more. Anyone?

ECHO is compatible with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and if you want to use for your Palm Pre, it will create another profile in your phone. Your SIM contacts will remain in the SIM card and will also create another profile in your phone. Then, when if you register your phone to palm profile, you will see 3 accounts: Palm, Echo and SIM profile.

Your SIM from the Centro contains all your Contacts and this is sure when you insert it into the pre but it might be more complicated with the mixture of echo that the pre and PC must be connected to the same Wi - Fi network and Wi - Fi is required to use this product.

  • Sync Outlook Contacts AS the Centro?

I want to be able to ONLY synchronize Outlook Contact information.  I don't have their information memo or appointment.  Any way to do with Palm OS?

    Thank you

    Not b

Go to hotsync manager, go to custom, set everything to do nothing EXCEPT CONTACTS and set it to the DEFAULT value. There you have it, simple as that. If you have Vista then go to hotsync and selection of applications and uncheck all options EXCEPT CONTACTS and set it to the DEFAULT value.

  • all data lost on the centro after taking the battery

I have a palm centro. I took out the battery like I use to do when it freezes on me. but the last time, she erased all the data on my centro, ATnT. I was not pushing any button on the button, as what you do with hardreset. I just took the battery and put back in, a soft reset in fact. Fortunately, I have all the data saved on palm desktop so I just it synced to my phone. This confuses me, is that my phone has done this, erase all the data when I took just the sim card and the battery on my phone. He has never done this before. I have not installed any third-party application on my phone and did not made any changes to the settings. y at - it something wrong with my phone. I'm afraid he might do it again once I get out of the battery. is it possible to prevent this.

    hoping for your response...

    Thank you!...

No way to prevent it but I suggest to test randomly to see if it happens again. If it doesn't then the device must be repaired or replaced.

  • The Centro load options

Just recently my Centro stopped to stay on (not allowing the keygard and keep the screen) while he is in charge.  I liked having turned it on so I was controlling music and view E-mail while he was charging.  Any ideas?

Check the settings of Pocket Tunes (pTunes) and see if the settings have changed recently. Type in the upper left corner on pTunes and select background prefs see if works while play is checked. If this is not the case, try a soft reset of the device to see if that helps. You may need to reset the unit and rename your backup because of a setting folder has changed and will need to disable this parameter.

  • Centro Palm OS program of list manager to stop the execution of programs

I'm trying to figure out how to get a list of programs currently running on my centro so I can pick one and stop it. While playing with pockettunes, I noticed that I couldn't stop it once it starts. Is there something on the Centro Palm OS which will allow me to switch/programs running at one of the list or cancel a?

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the Community Forums of Palm.

Palm OS devices although not "multi-tasking" as a desktop computer, audio applications have the ability to run in the background.  Background reading is a switchable option... you can turn it on and off.  Go to the Menu > Preferences > background prefs.  If you want to disable this feature, uncheck the box.

If Pocket Tunes plays a song and you switch to another application before having ceased to Pocket Tunes to play, the music continues to play with background playback introduced on the market.  To stop it, whatever you have to do is open Pocket Tunes again, press the button Stop and exit again.  It will not continue to "run" in the background without actively playing music.

  • So much for the Palm Centro. BlackBerry to add ads to TV +.

"Users of blackBerry smartphones will gain the convenience of being able to discover what are the [TV] shows.

    Press release-RIM http://press.rim.com/release.jsp?id=1794

Sorry for the lack of context. I like the Palm OS, and the main reason I guard autour is offline, full text searchable ads TV using my favorite 3rd party app.

Given that the Centro is primarily intended for users of the non-professionnelle, my funtime comes with my Palm and not my company BlackBerry. To watch TV, I often start my Palm just to see if something interests me before you even turn on the TV. Otherwise, my life is pretty boring with young children, usually watching kiddie shows.

  • Where / how to locate the serial number on my PALM Centro (or the box?)

    Hello

This seems to be my day for a thousand questions. (Actually only three well until now, but I like to set goals...)

I am trying to download one of the applications of software bonus that you get when you buy your Centro. I had to remove to get the phone works well for my wife (see other thread) and now I need a serial number to download the application.

Now before anyone makes the assumption - I'm not ask a serial number - just the place where I should look to find my wife's phone. So far, that I looked at the Centro himself and it seems there is no indicating anyone outside the PALM, AT & T and access powered. So without even taking off the battery case (which I'm afraid to do the design and the fact that I had to go twice now with TWO phones we bought that are less than a few weeks), I then went in the PALM itself (software wise) to research to see if I could find this information in the phone info. I had a few figures who could probably the number I'm looking for - but none of them say "Serial number" or are abbreviated with "SN", as it is more often with the software.

Then I looked on the back of the box, the phone came in and got the following abbreviations with the numbers: SKUS, P/N, MSN and IMEI.  There is also: RS not: and UPC Code.

If I were to take a guess as to what number is the one I was looking for I could go with the number under the acronym "MSN" because I think he could stand to Mobile serial number...?

Clues that could make it easier for someone who has actually paid for their phone and the software to get their legitimate copy is GREATLY appreciated...

Ok update: While I was expecting someone to answer me... I went ahead and enter a MSN number. That was apparently the one I needed. Thank you! Problem solved!

  • Centro (AT & T) free eReader Pro: where is the dictionary?

On your page web eBooks (below right), it says "Download eReader Pro with dictionary, fonts etc...

I did it.  I unzipped the file.  I synchronize with the Centro.  Where is the dictionary, fonts etc...?

eReader was recently bought by Fictionwise. It used to belong to motor. As Fictionwise does not eReaderPro charge (a $15 or more to motor) the dictionary is no longer included.

I paid for eReaderPro years and found the free dictionary included seem appropriate for grades of end primary school, which is not suitable for my needs. So, I use other dictionaries, none of which were free. Caveat emptor.

  • Centro desktop doesn't install it to the previous thread palm desktop and cannot uninstall old version

The Centro CD installs access desktop Palm Centro
desktop computer - it stops and says that I have to uninstall existing Palm desktop as it will not be to level the previous version.

Problem is, I can't install off Sony palm desktop. It's in c:\program
files, but not displayed in Control Panel / Add Remove prgrams. has no
    allow revo uninstall it.

I tried to plug just in the Centro but windows might find usb drivers
    (no doubt)

So I'm a little stuck. Help!

    It was the next step.

I just needed to know what was the operating system of the PC and the version of Palm desktop so I could tell you where to get the correct files.

Here is some info. For you.

Click on the following link to the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com Web page.
    http://www.Palm.com/us/support/Centro/centro_gsm/

There are links on the page the user Troubleshooting Guide, how to, downloads, etc.

The best way to protect your data is to export the data in each category of Palm Desktop in a separate folder on your PC.

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that suits. Name it something like Palm Desktop data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on this page for the export procedure.

    http://www.Palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?id=28734

Make sure you only select everything for the beach in the export window.

With the data stored in the created folder, make a copy of this file and save it on a USB key, cd - rw or external hard drive.

Whenever you change in Palm Desktop, export the data that has been changed in this file and save again to external media.

With this process you can always import the data in Palm Desktop, whenever you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop, or if your computer/hard drive/device crash.

  • trouble with the part of my centro phone

I wonder if anyone can help... I have problems with answering phone calls on my centro. It sounds and when I pick it up, I can't hear anything. Also, when I try to call someone or even call my voicemail, I don't hear anything either... Any suggestions? I tried the soft reset and hard reset, and they did not work. Help, please...

Did you use the helmets of plug-in type on your Centro?

You hear a sound out of the speaker when you play a MP3 file?

There is a microphone in the earpiece that can get stuck and the Centro ' think that ' he has plugged headphones and this can cause the problems you describe. You can try the following procedure to see if the listener is at the origin of the problem.

Click on the following link for the post on the forum about this. Thanks to great contributor, DTfromBH.

  • 4.1 the Palm Centro?

There was an earlier discussion on the Office of Palm/access 6.2.2 ugly without color coding, etc.  Someone talked about back in 4.1, but I did not understand on 4.1 may or may not be synchronized with Centro.  Just bought a new Centro specificallly so I could continue to use the Palm, but the office is atrocious.  So I can return to my beloved 4.1 and sync-away, or am I stuck with this?  Except that, are there any third party themes or color schemes that someone knows?

As long as you use Vista, the Centro should be happy with the older desktop computer. I synchronize my TX using Palm Desktop 4.1, which came with my Alphasmart Dana.

  • Fees on Palm Desktop, but not on the Palm Centro

I just changed a Tungsten E2 to a Centro 685. Tungsten has Palm OS v5.40; the Centro has v5.49. Palm Desktop (running Windows XP Home SP3) uses v6.2 for awhile. The Office's expenditure as well as the Date, address, Memo, etc., and I had no trouble to enter things in charge on the tungsten and sync'ing them on the desktop. The transfer went well except that the Centro is not fresh. The HotSync log claims Sync load properly, but as I can't find the app on the Centro, I don't see the expense records.

What Miss me? Costs not included in the v5.49 or on Centros? I saw the notes saying that recent versions of Office do not include fees; If he pulled in the v6.2 on the desktop when I updated from a previous version, but is not really supposed to be there after v5.40? Is there a way to get the app on the Centro? I can keep records of expense in the notes if I have or can install a manager of third-party charges, but I'm curious to know why I can use application on the desktop but not on the Centro Palm expenses.

    Thank you. Suggestions gratefully appreciated-

Your proposal is correct - Palm eliminated the application of fees there is Palm Desktop and Palm OS versions.

It may seem an older version of Palm Desktop on your computer because of its old facility.
