Radio interfaces

Why do we need to radio interfaces in AP. What is the purpose of create void interfaces.

Sub interfaces are used so that you can separate the different "VLAN" on the Radio/Ethernet.  Think of the gateway as a router (but it cannot route).  The access point should subinterfaces and bridge-groups in order to fill the traffic between the radio and ethernet much as you would need subinterfaces and bridge-groups to bridge traffic between different Layer 3 interfaces on a router.

If you do not want to manage/configure the secondary interfaces on the radio, I suggest that you look at the controller-based deployments.

Low line however, is that if you want several VLANs on your wireless access Point, you must subinterfaces for each vlan on the Radio and Ethernet, as well as bridge-groups to fill the whole traffic.

  • How to create the stereo car radio interface

Hello, I'm new to LabView and I am trying to simulate the interface with a radio in LabView 2009. I can't not peculiar looking for radio station and scan functions. I started with a digital control the top and bottom search function to find a "radio station". However, I would like that to incorporate both seek and scan controls, but I'm not sure how to build my own control that would do this. I thought somehow two controls of building that would be present on the VI interface, with one control acting as the seek function and another control acting as the function and then scan their wiring both to the digital "radio station" indicator, but I'm not the best way to implement this. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. -Cheuk

You must put the code inside the loop, otherwise it gets only read at the beginning of the program. You must also use a shift register to keep track of the current station. Attached is a change that made just the look down. See if you can understand how to add code.

  • 851W w / WPA - PSK - Interface goes down.

    Hello

I tried to configure WPA - PSK on the router 851W. I followed the instructions using the SDM and properly active wireless WPA - PSK network. I have connected a MacBookPro to the network wireless, with all the features, then after a minute or two, separates the client and Dot11Radio interface goes down.

I have install a network open without any connectivity problems. I have search the net and forums of Cisco without success for a solution to this problem. Here is the link to the guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/products_configuration_example09186a00808acf2f.shtml

Any ideas what might be causing the radio interface down with WPA - PSK configured?

    Thank you.

For some it's IOS version WPA - PSK, which proved to be intermittent. Cisco CSCeh90412 bug describes it. Try to update the IOS version and check.

  • WLC 802. 11A / n Radio regulatory domain question

    Dear all

We are facing a problem with a customer where a Cisco 4400 Series controller blocks the 802. 11A / n Radio Interface of 1250 access point. Radio broadcasts like down on the controller to GUI. The error message on the GUI, it's that the "regulatory area" is not supported. This can be seen on the attached screenshot. Also the relevant parts of the WLC configs are attached.

    WLC: Cisco 4402 wireless
    WLC country: SA
Device: Cisco Lightweight Access Point 1250 (LAP) is controlled by the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) 4402
The version of operating system of the TOWER: c1250-k9w8 - mx.124 - 18A .JA version of the WLC: 5.2.178.0 software Version

The problem is that the controller which shows the 802. 11A / n Interface Radio in Radio Slot # 1 is still unavailable, the client was trying to manually "nonstop" interface of the PA of the console and it worked, but of course this solution would not work as the configuration cannot be saved (LW AP).

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

  • Z5 Premium battery drain while you sleep

    Hello

I was the performance of battery loging for awhile, and I noticed that there seems to be little difference between the drain when using and the drain while you sleep.

Last night my battery fell over 50% to 100% without any [major] at the time of the screen. The phone has been completely disconnected from all radio interfaces and everything should have been sleeping.

I have a white list to alow my smartwatch 3 to work when the phone is asleep, but these are things like the Google services.

The stats of the battery for the period when the battery went down shows.

    10% Android system,
    Operating system Android 7%
    Watch cell 3%
    Screen 3%
    Phone idle 2%
    Media server % 1.

I don't really code that much more, but if this where a system I was debugging, I would be suspicious that Android and Android OS systems use such a big chunk of power while the system should be asleep and waiting to be activated by the interface remains alone, the connection of the cellar!

Any thoughts on this [official or not?]

  • Change Windows 7 default serial port settings

I need help how do I change the way Windows 7 control a default serial port COM1.  I use a serial cable very easy to control the special with external hardware.  The serial cable only use the RTS and DTR, GND pin of the cable and does not require special hardware drivers.  I used the camera on several versions of Windows 95 to XP without any problem at all with serial ports.  With Windows 95 - XP serial COM1 port's RTS and DTR lines defined 'stop' by default.  I just upgraded to a new computer with Windows 7 and now have a problem with the serial port.

For my problem, I need to have the serial port to be 'stop' default until load control software and specifically opens the serial port to turn on the external device.  Using a serial port data Tester (a lot of green and Red led) I see that as soon as Windows 7 starts, it automatically sets the lines DTR, RTS and TD to serial port as "HOT" (high voltage).  This is not acceptable because it activates the external hardware until the control software is loaded!  Similarly when the control software is closed and the serial port is released in Windows 7, the serial port DB, RTS and TD lines are again defined as "HOT" (high voltage) by Windows.

    Dave,

I can't believe that you have not answered this question.  I had the same problem as you trying to control my radio interface.  I just came by for a Dell Optiplex over the weekend and noticed the same problem.  I was searching the Web for an answer when I found this post.  I am happy to say that I found the solution to my Optiplex and how it works for you.  I went into the BIOS and set the UART protection on.  Makes no sense to me because I'm a software guy, only an amateur on the hardware side.  I left the BIOS and the serial port works as it should like in XP.

  • Cisco Aironet SAP1602E - changing open to WPA - PSK access remote (RAP and map)

I currently have a deployment of Cisco Aironet SAP1602E Wireless point to point bridge (bridge using RAP and card, root wireless and Non-Root Bridge) to expand a layer 2 VLAN from one building to the other. It currently operates uisng open authentication and encryption - and is administered remotely via the bridge of root, to get wireless (manage) the bridge Non-Root - RAP wireless remote.

Try to configure the PSK WPA2-PSK remotely via the GUI or CLI - first setup - I informed a similar error to her below indicating that:

Error: Key-management WPA is requried for WPA-PSK
Read around, it seems, there is a configuration-control problem, and that I need to specify the mode as WPA2-PSK first, before then being able to specify the PSK there instead of using. However, as soon as this mode is specified on RAP, my remote administration is broken - as probably the RAP try to use WPA2-PSK to look for a PSK, which has not yet been configured. Am I missing something obvious here, or is the order of operations of CLI (1] convert to WPA - PSK; (2] shared secret to apply PSK) as a migration from open to WPA2-PSK cannot be configured remotely (short of preparation of a startup-config; TFTPing presents more; and issuance of a 'reload' remote control)? Can someone please enlighten me as to what the logic is here - no doubt I should be able to specify a PSK first (fo without worrying if I use WPA, WPA2 or other), and then be able to specify that I want as the layer of encryption (WPA) to make use of this pre-parameter PSK? If it was a router, you don't can me to add something to the authentication key chain OSPF; before clarifying its use - why so different Aironet Wireless IOS?

You're right, and because you will have to enter several lines of configuration to switch to WPA2-PSK with AES didn't really matter; the AP would reset the radio anyway because you make changes related to the radio interface. It would be very useful that if Cisco router/switch IOS 'macro' feature available AP thus in changes like this, unfortunately this is not the case.

Start with the nonroot AP and make sure that the following lines are added to your configuration. If you add by the console, the order must be like that, do it by downloading a new configuration of booting with tftp, that it does not matter.

    interface Dot11Radio0
encryption ciphers aes - ccm mode

    SSID dot11 TEST

    Hello:

The MAR has a console interface to enclusre series for each WMI command-line. These are normally at the top and labeled by WMIC, i.e. WMIC1, WMIC2. Console in this interface as you would the MARC and configure it as a 1200 AP. WMIC 1 should be connected F0/0 inside the compound. WMIC 2 is usually connected to F2/3 on the FESMIC. If you use a command line WMI uplink to a solution of Mesh 1500 series or any other non - Cisco AP, consider the universal solution of bridge as detailed in the Enterprise Mobility 3.0 SRND working group. Note also that the "mobile station" command when it is used on a radio interface causes flow challenges (caveat) if the MAR is not the uplink to another MAR or IOS AP.

  • Prevent client to client communication

You are looking for a way to set up a wireless network and have the ability to deny customer access to customer between hosts on the access point.

    Hi Chris,

    Just to add a note to the great info Scott (5 points for that one Scott :)) This is possible in both autonomous AP;

Activation and deactivation of the secure package transfer Public

Public Forwarding for packages of Secure (PSPF) prevents client devices associated to a file share access point inadvertently or communicate with other client devices associated to the access point. It provides Internet access to devices client without providing other features of a LAN. This feature is useful for public wireless networks such as those installed in airports or on college campuses.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note to prevent any communication between the clients associated with various points of access, you must configure the ports protected on the switch to which your access points are connected. See "Configuring protected Ports" for instructions on configuring the protected ports.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To enable and disable the PSPF by using CLI commands on your access point, you use Bridge groups. You will find a detailed explanation of the bridge groups and instructions for their implementation in this document:

•Cisco IOS bridging and IBM Networking Configuration Guide, release 12.2. Click on this link to access the Configuration of a Transparent bridging section: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122cgcr/fibm_c/bcfpart1/bcftb.htm

You can also activate and deactivate the PSPF by using the web browser interface. The PSPF setting is on the Radio settings pages.

PSPF is disabled by default. Beginning in privileged EXEC mode follow these steps to activate PSPF:

    Purpose of command

    Step 1

    Configure the terminal

    Enter global configuration mode.

    Step 2

    dot11radio interface {0 | 1}

Interface for the radio interface configuration mode. 2.4 GHz radio is radio 0, and 5 GHz radio is radio 1.

    Step 3

bridge - a group protected by port

    Select the PSPF.

    Step 4

    end

    Return to privileged mode.

    Step 5

    copy running-config startup-config

(Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.

No form of the command to disable the PSPF.

  • Connection problems SSID with several VLANs

    Hi all

I'm having a little problem getting a device to associate with an access point and enter an IP via DHCP on a particular SSID. This access point has two VLANs, with two different SSID configured. The configuration is locked. For some reason I can't connect to 2 SSID on my wireless device, but the SSID works very well. I see authentication through the newspaper, so I know that the pre-shared key is correct, but may not enter an IP address (which makes me think I have a problem in the bridge group). Any thoughts?

Also, I tried both a trunk port and an access port on the switch that is connected to the access point. With both, I can connect and enter an address IP of the VLAN 20 (SSID 1), but not to VLAN 10 (2 SSID).

    Thanks for your help!

Your bridge-groups do not have the tail. You have 10 VLANS mapped to bridge-Group 1 on the FastEthernet interface but mapped to bridge-group 10 on the radio just remove the bridge Group 1 of the main radio interface and apply it to the subinterface dot0.10.

  • Cannot add a Cisco CP 2.1 wireless

    Hello

I am very new with Cisco devices. I have a Cisco 851 router wireless and I configured manually (a simple local network with a Wan interface for internet).

Now, I'm trying to add a Wpa wireless network to complete the configuration of my wanted.

I use the new Cisco Configuration professional 2.1 (the thick interface on my laptop and the Express one on the router).

I watched 2 screens casts ( http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_configuration_professional/scrcst/ccpsc.html -> "Configuring the Wireless feature on routers with Dot11 Radio Interface" & "Set up a wireless network with WPA personal security enabled").

Basically, these casts screens show how to access the basic graphical interface to simply add a wireless network (see the screenshot in attachment).

Then I got the following error message: "no more than - 1 SSID can be configured for the Dot11Radio0 interface."

It's strange to me because my setup is quiet basic and I haven't even touched the Dot11Radio0 interface.

The other link (at the bottom of the screenshot) wireless application is too complex for me and I want to add my network wireless through the Cisco CP 2.1 Basic interface and see the CLI commands.

Here is some information on my router (if more information is needed, please let me know)

    Hi Gregory,

I discovered that Cisco Configuration Professional-> add wireless network is not supported on the particular IOS image that you use. You need the IOS version to 124 - 15.T or higher. Could you pls try after upgrading the IOS pls image?

    Thank you

  • HOWTO connect to AP internal to the outside world?

    Hello experts,

I have a Cisco 881w router, which has an integrated WLAN access point. This access point functions as a separate module, so I have to fill the two VLANS (normal LAN and WLAN). Basically, it works fine:

    • NAT to Internet works from two subnets (LAN and WLAN)
    • rattling of the works from clients in WIFI for customers of local network
    • rattling of the works from clients in LAN to WIFI customers
    • Ping works from clients in WIFI to any interrace on router
    • rattling of the works from the clients of any interface on the router LAN

The only problem now is that when I am connected via command-line (CLI) interface directly to the AP (in order to upgrade the firmware), I can't access any host outside and inside of the router - even, I can't ping the internal interfaces of the router or IP addresses.

Any ideas what I'm missing here?

I have attached two configs (router and internal AP module) to this message.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards, Matthias

    Matthias,

The AP would look like this:

    !
    interface Dot11Radio0.1
    encapsulation dot1Q 1 native
    no ip route cache
    Bridge-Group 1
    !
    interface Dot11Radio0.10
    encapsulation dot1Q 10
    no ip route cache
    Bridge-group 10

    !
    interface GigabitEthernet0
Description the GigabitEthernet incorporated AP 0 is an internal interface connecting AP with the host router
    no ip address
    no ip route cache
    !
    interface GigabitEthernet0.1
    encapsulation dot1Q 1 native
    no ip route cache
    Bridge-Group 1
    !
    interface GigabitEthernet0.10
    encapsulation dot1Q 10
    no ip route cache
    Bridge-group 10
    !
    interface BVI1
    IP 192.168.0.253 255.255.255.0
    no ip route cache
    !

To clean things up, you can also remove all the "encryption vlan 1' under the radio interface."  The other bridge-group instructions that are there now will automatically be added when you configure the bridge under void interfaces group.

Also, don't forget to change the vlan native on the interface of the trunk on the side of the router.

    Thank you

    Lee
