  I started to individually test RAM when I noticed a quirk in the way they were organized in their locations.
  I downloaded the manual for my P9X79 and he confirmed that they were arranged in mirror mode.
  I switched two of the sticks to adjacent slots and, Lo and behold, the full 16 GB presented at startup.
  So that's one mystery solved at least.
  I'll raise the memtest to see if it includes several errors and if so will continue to individually control the RAM sticks.

  This problem may occur because of damaged or missing Windows files. This can also happen if associated service is not running.

  I suggest you to check if the "Windows Management Instrumentation" service is running as set as Automatic.

  Please follow these steps:

  a. press Windows + R key, type services.msc in the immediate window and press ENTER.
  b. right click on "Windows Management Instrumentation" and click Properties.
  c. make sure that the service status is running and Startup type is automatic.
  d. If not, select the Startup type to Automatic and click on 'Start'.
  e. click apply and ok.

  If she did not help, run checker (SFC) of file system and see if it helps.

  To anyone who thinks of a memory upgrade on the NB550D:

  The NB550D supports up to 4 GB of memory, not only 2 GB as mentioned by Toshiba in their specifications.
  Upgrade memory to 2 GB is _only limited_ by the pre installed Windows 7 Starter OS, and not by the netbook itself.

  I use Linux Mint 11 Katya, 64-bit and my system works perfectly well with a 4 GB ram module. If you want to use the full support for 4 GB ram, get rid of the Win 7 Starter operating system.

  Specifications for more memory ram volume are DDR3 1333 MHz PC3-10600 SO-Dimm. I chose a 4 GB of Corsair module, because of the guarantee of 30 years of offers from Corsair.

  It took me a while to find this out hope, that this will be a help to all those who are just as secure as I was how to upgrade memory NB550D. Good luck. (o).

  Also it of important to mention than the 32-bit systems (not serious if its Linux or Windows) would recognize only 3.2 GB since it is a limitation of 32-bit
  So to use all of the 4 GB RAM 64-bit system is required.

  I have a Pro 4600 and two memory modules:
  1 IBM 128 MB PC100 CL2 SODIMM 144 pin
  2 Infineon 128 MB PC133 CL3 144 pin SODIMM

  Each of these modules work fine separately.
  When I put the two to reach 256 of ram, the system recognizes only 128MB, but boots ok anyway.

  My question is: what to do to have 256 total RAM?
  If the two models will be absolutely same (including manufacturer), it will cause correct 256 MB of ram?

  Just FYI: If you want to use compatible modules please use PA3005U - 1 M 12 128 MB or 256 MB PA3069U - 1 M 25 memory module.

• Some sites are struggling to load on WINDOWS XP system...

  But I don't think it's a matter of IE8. There are a few sites that seem to take forever to load on my Windows XP HOME system in my home office with SP3. . before posting this question I did research and wrong and came to the conclusion isn't an IE8 specific problem.that is why I am posting a call for help. Here's WHY, and some of the things I've tried.

  First of all... I know that is NOT a router issue as without go through the router does the same thing. My son office under VISTA and laptop my daughter under WIN7 views sites without a problem on the same router they both also using IE8.

  Here are the reasons I came to the conclusion that it is not a specific problem of IE8.

  3 l I removed Cache/temporary internet files.from my IE8 settings... did NOT work

  2. I did a reset, all the internal parameters of IE8. and restarted it did NOT work.

  3. I re-entered the whole DLL reloaded files did NOT work

  4. I have disabled the firewall and retrial antivirus software do NOT work.

  5 I removed the restarted HOST file is still no luck.

  6 I checked all the location url which are both blocked and allowed in the security options in IE8 circles and none of them have problematic sites listed on them!

  7 I uninstalled IE8 erased my system and were reinstaled it. I thought that would fix my problems BUT it didn't!

  8 I installed BOTH Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. and two of them are doing exactly the same thing. (but since I removed Chrome because I have NO 3 browsers on my computer when none of them works.

  What seems to happen is that these particular sites seems to take forever to load and some parts of the Web CHARGER actually sites but NOT the entire site... like the text show up... but not the CSS or Images. so the sites say they have expired as in Firefox or IE8 just say Page Cannot Be Displayed. But on my computers children they are responsible in quickly and NO problem with the display of these websites

  I'd appreciate ANY help to help fix this problem... I have NOT installed anything to the ciomputer in quitre a few years if nothing is NEW about it. This problem seems to come unexpectedly trying to access these important sites!

  Hello.. I agree with you on that mcafee... I went back to an old image ghost my system... and that was with an older version of mcafee then traore, I had on before going to the old ghost... I got VSE 8.8 and then when I went back to the old ghost it was 8.5... but then when it started to download new DAT files and updates... because it was like 4 months old... He gave me nothing, but NEW problems... McAfee settles one * responsible for services that take a lot of precious memory! just mcsheild.exe itself is almost 100 k but this 8.5 8.8 is not even half this size which is better but the 8.8 worstpart is that it installs services more than bog the machine even down more... It's like darnded if I do and darn if I do not have: O) oh and btw... I can see sites now too. Since going back to old ghost, so it WAS my system just no. CLUE why he did... You will love the ghost! (: o) LOL

  My mother bought a curve 8520 on a case of talk with Orange today and while the thing most seem to work ok, we're fighting get set up personal e-mail. I followed the tutorials and instructions, but when I go to the option of setting up, the only option there is to put in place a company email, not the personal.

  I've been Googling autour and it seems to be a pretty common thing. Is it just a case to call Orange and ask them to do something at their end? If so what exactly is it they do?
