  • How to connect the Officejet Pro 8100 printer to wireless network

Bought a "nine" Officejet Pro 8100 and want to use via my wireless network. The CD supplied with the printer is obsolete. Updated Apple software but can't see how to connect the printer to the network. Getting Started Guide is no help on this issue. Searched for support without result pages. Utility HP does not provide a method to set up a wireless feature. Find all the instructions, I say first of all make sure that the printer is connected to the wireless network, and that's what I can't find out how. What I forget?

Finally, I called HP hotline for help and was rescued. It turns out that Apple's software update software includes all the required components. The software from the HP Web site is no longer available. It's frustrating to see the Getting Started Guide refer frequently to the HP installation wizard and be unable to locate it. Once the wizard tech took control of my computer and installed the necessary software, it was a breeze!

I also note that compose the support number to talk with a guy was rather brief: between 1 and 2 minutes, I recall. Although there was a menu of the phone, it was not a large (unlike the attempt labyrinthine and often circular to locate the online help).

Insofar as HP knows the necessary software in not available via software update or directly from HP, wouldn't make sense to inform buyers, as well as how to access? At least do not place meaningless, useless on the Web site links that lead into oblivion and frustration!

Although I did appreciate the journey, I finally arrive at my destination. Thanks to Aris, HP technician. You are exceptional!

  • Unable to connect to the Internet via a Linksys Wireless card

I used a Linksys BEFW11S4 for several years with no problems.  A PC is connected via a network cable and the other (Dell laptop) used a wireless adapter Linksys that plugged into the laptop (model of Linksys WPC11 ver (4).  All my computers using Windows XP with the latest service packs.

I plugged the Dell laptop to the router via a cable to transfer files faster than the network B.  Then, when I disconnected the cable and reconnected the wireless card, I was unable to use the Wi - Fi connection to connect to the internet.  Wired works very well, is not wireless.

Windows reports a good wireless connection to the router, but the machine is unable to connect to the internet using the wireless card.  It can connect to the internet when using a network cable, however.

Pings what either using the Wi - Fi connection failed (expired).

I used another laptop (a more recent Toshiba with a wireless card built-in) to connect to the router and it works very well with the connectivity wired or wireless.  No problem switching back with this machine.  So, the problem is not with the router or the router configuration.

I was through the forums and seen a LOT of people seems to have the same problem with these Wireless Linksys routers.

I tried to use the Easy Link software to configure the machine, but: (1) Linksys updated web site is not valid, and (2) with the www.linksysfix.com/ela site that directs users to the software is also invalid.  Linksys technical support seems to be lacking.

I went to the usual network setup menus and two laptops seem to be configured the same way, again, we're working wireless and we do not.

I would appreciate solutions others have tried and who has worked with this problem.

I reinstalled the drivers for the Linksys card and it does not work.  Windows recognizes the new hardware card, reports that it is connected to the router, but still no internet connection

  • Unable to connect to the internet... either wireless or wired.

I used to get the pefect internet using linksys wireless but now I can't connect. Ive bought a router and it internet connects on my ps3 and my office but not my laptop.
under the menu "choose a wireless network", it shows the router that I use for my other computer and also other shows open connections, but it connects to one of them. When I try connent to my router it trying to connect but then jump on it and then try to connect to linksys.  where it says so "limited or no connectivity.
I tried the pluging the ethernet cable that I use on my desktop to my laptop and my laptop still won't connect even if its connected to the wire. so I don't think that its you just wireless. Ugh.

    Hello

If there is a capacity of wire and it doesn't, forget for now wireless since there is little chance it will work.

Dealing first with the wired connection, http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html

When the connection of the wire works, use it to connect to the menu of the router (read the manual of the router) and check the wireless setting.

Disable security wireless to the router and see if you can connect without security.

Once you can connect without security, enable security.

    r Ellis,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

If cela used to work, but the fact now, you can try to do a system restore back before the problem started.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
In the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    Click Finish.
The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

What happens when you try to connect - the computer see the router but not connect or not he sees the router at all?  Your wireless card still appears upward and it shows the available networks?  Depending on the answers to these questions, it could be a number of different things, so we have to know what that is and can't.  It could be that anything the wireles adapter has stopped working, the need of drivers update, interference, etc..  Let us know if the adapter is working or not and he sees to all networks or not, and we'll go from there.

  • Unable to connect my printer (HP Deskjet 3052 a) wireless

    original title: wireless printer

Purchase a printer HP Deskjet 3052 has and can't get my Toshiba Satellite phone so he could work. Will not work using the USB cable or wireless. Any Advisor. Downloaded the software and also used my cd, but the computer shows it's there, but when I go to print said I need to select the printer. When I do it does not help because it does not find.

You have perhaps confused things by trying to connect with the USB connection or wireless.

Subsequently, I guess you have a wireless router.  What is the make and model?
Or are you simply trying to connect wireless to the printer WITHOUT a wireless connection between your computer and the Internet (i.e. without a wireless router)?

If you click Start > devices and printers, do you (a) see an icon for the Deskjet printer, (b) see two icons for the Deskjet printer or (c) not see some icons for the Deskjet printer?

Assuming that the answer is (a), right-click on the icon, select "Printer properties" and click on the "Ports" tab

By ensuring NOT to click in the list of ports, use the scroll bar on the right side so that you can see the line with the box checked.  What he does say to the title of 'Port' and 'Description'?  You will have to perhaps to click and drag on the low vertical line in the header (between the word 'Port' and 'Description') in order to make the column wide enough to view the entire entry).  Click Cancel to exit the printer properties dialog box.

    Now, go to the printer.
    Print a Network Setup page:

    1. Press the wireless button to display the wireless Menu.
    2. In the wireless Menu, select print reports.
    3. Printing reports, select the menu Configuration.

What is reported as the IP address of the printer?

You can also print the wireless network test report:

    1. Press the wireless button to display the wireless Menu.
    2. In the wireless Menu, select print reports.
    3. In the printing of reports, select Test Wireless.

The manual of your printer is not an example of these two reports, so I'm not sure what will be included.  On one or the other (if there are not two), it should show the name of your wireless network.  T it?

  • at & t u-verse, & having problems connecting my Officejet 4500 to my current wireless network

    Hello

I just got an Officejet 4500, and I am unable to connect it to my current wireless network.  I'm AT & T U-Verse so I use 2Wire equipment.  I have a Mac Book Pro, and I'm on Mac OS X operating system 10.5.8.  When I try to connect, I get an error message saying something like "Failed to connect."

In the past, I had problems connecting my Airport Express to 2Wire.  In order to make it work, I connected the router 2Wire and changed the WPA - PSK (TKIP) security settings and WPA2 - PSK (AES) to just WPA2 - PSK (AES).  My Airport Express was able to connect without any problems.

Please help me to connect my Officejet 4500 to my 2Wire router.  I note also that I'm not really tech savvy so I need instructions are written in simple terms.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Windows Vista update (August 2010) left my laptop could not connect to the Internet via my home wireless network

Yesterday, on August 13, I installed - as guest - a number of updates to Windows Vista on my laptop. It seems that most of them is security updates. There are 16 in total, of which 9 are titled "A security update for Windows Vista". (For reference, they include KB978886, KB982214 and KB2079403).

Since the completion of this facility, I can't access the Internet using this laptop. I have a wireless router that works very well. Our other two laptops families (using Windows 7 and other Windows XP uses) are the two beautiful connection today by using the wireless router, so I know that the rest of the installation is fine.

Immediately before installing updates, everything worked very well; Since then, the problem exists. I made no other changes of configuration, facilities or any measure that might have caused this.

Please tell us how I can remedy this problem. So far my best idea is to uninstall all updates. I really don't want to do it, because I guess they are important!

    Thank you!

    Hello

Temporarily disable the security software and check if it makes a difference.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
