RAM HPG56 Notebook - beyond 3Gig?

Hi all

I have a laptop of 129WM of HPG56 for a child from the school.  It came stock with 3 GB of RAM.  Can I develop it and what? Enlargement will enhance the speed that is slower than now.  Also, I guess I should have corresponding to chip size taken twice.

Any info is appreciated.  I spent 30 minutes on the phone with HP who sent me around in circles to the starting point again!

Frank

The specific chipset in your model to determine if the machine can handle 4 GB or 8 GB of memory.

Normally, HP uses the Intel GL40 chipset in their laptops that use Celeron processors.

Specifications for this chipset Intel memory limit memory 2 x 2 GB (4 GB ttl).

http://Ark.Intel.com/products/35501/Intel-82GL40-graphics-and-memory-controller-hub

For models that come with Pentium processors, HP uses the GM45 chipset that will allow 2 x 4 GB of memory (8 GB ttl).

I can't find any specs on the Celeron 900 processor memory.

http://Ark.Intel.com/products/41498/Intel-Celeron-processor-900-1M-cache-2_20-GHz-800-MHz-FSB

I not play with $100 on the low sides that works 2 x 4 GB of memory.

  • Maximum RAM for notebook DV7-4000 series?

I have a laptop ' HP Pavilion dv7-4000 Select Edition Entertainment Notebook PC ' 4 years ago (2010), model WA357AV.  Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit with Intel core i5 M450 @ 2.4 GHz and 6 GB of Ram.

What is the maximum size of RAM so I wanted to update?  I can go up to 16 GB with 2 8 GB cards? It is important that the current memory cards are "unbalanced" because I have a 4 GB card and a 2GB card when I always read both should be the same for the 'best performance '.  If "unbalanced" is OK, I might consider replacing just the 2 GB card with 8 GB, send me some 8 + 4 = 12 GB which would be obviously cheaper.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hello:

Max ram with the processor of your model is 8 GB (2 x 4 GB).

It's well run 4 GB + 2 GB but the memory does not work in DDR mode achieve higher.

Replace the 2 GB chip with a 4 GB chip.

That's the best you can do.

  • Upgrade of RAM for hp G62-451sa

Hey, my names Tom and I'm new to this forum.

I have a 2 HP G62-451sa bought new years. I discovered that my use of physical memory is extremely high (80-90%) of the 3 GB of Ram (1 GB + 2 GB) I have. I have a 64-bit windows, and I'm looking for RAM upgrades. Can I switch to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)? and if so where can I buy those replacements of 4 GB of ram for my model because I have found none to my computer through to look at many sites such as crucial.com etc... But what can I use other upgrades of RAM for notebooks G62 like G62-450sa?

    Thank you

    Tom

    Hi, Tom:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02542455.PDF

Chapter 1 page 1-1 provides the memory upgrade information (Yes, you can install 2 x 4 GB of PC3-8500 memory or 10600).

Just make sure you get chips with 8 black memories of each side of the Board.

Unless you live in the United States, I know not what brands are available in other countries or where you can buy them.

  • Type of Ram

I'm trying to figure out what kind of ram my notebook has one ran a scan on Curcial.com and he said I need to DDR2 ran a scan on another web site, it says I need DDR2, I have a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook is a 1 1/2 years. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dan

It's a bit scary that reports the DDR2 crucial tool, and the page on record shows DDR3.

In addition, the page on record shows 16 GB of DDR3 2 x 8 GB (PC3-10600) can be installed and the Service Manual shows only 8 GB 2 x 4 PC3-10600 Go can be installed in the PCs with AMD processors.

    See Chapter 1, pages 5 and 6.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842252.PDF

I believe that the remedy is correct because the AMD PC are limited to 2 x 4 GB of memory.

What I would do if I were you, would be to remove the battery, unplug the AC adapter and see Chapter 4 on memory R & R procedures.

Inspect the memory module. There should be some sort of identity on him specifying the nature and the speed.

If you have the model you posted, there certainly DDR3 memory onboard, not DDR2.

  • Why disable SuperFetch on ssd, if the RAM is much faster than the ssd?

Directed by Microsoft that SuperFetch and PreFetch must be disabled, if the OS is installed on an ssd, in accordance with article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2727880. But SuperFetch is used for loading the data components of applications, which were very often used for RAM. Although the ssd is faster that a hard drive is not faster than the RAM. So, I do not understand why Microsoft suggest disabling this feature. The only reason why I want to understand, it's because of a limited RAM. If the RAM is sufficient beyond 6 GB, if we disable SuperFetch, then the boot time and increase the loading time of most used applications. I miss something here?

The other question is about PreFetch. I feel, maybe wrong, it does the same thing with SuperFetch, with one major difference. It loads all the information data on the ssd or hard drive, instead of the RAM, in order to accelerate the launch of applications and time when the OS is installed on a hard drive to boot. If I'm right, let's disable the PreFetch it stores information for one ssd or hdd, while SuperFetch stores data of RAM information, which is much faster and so it must be enabled if there is a sufficient RAM.

I look forward to reading the notice of a Microsoft software engineer.

    Hi Leventis,

Prefetch copies frequently accessed files together into a contiguous on the disk area so that they can be located and loaded more quickly. That it takes a lot of old drives to recover data faster.

SuperFetch predict what applications you run next and preload all the necessary data in the memory. She has also done that with startup files. And for all the three days he sends a defragmentation command to the OS drive that will cause problems in the SSD drives.

In traditional hard drives (HDD) data are scattered throughout the disk, so that the operating system for access, it will take more time. It is suggested to perform a disk defragmentation. But storage technology is different in SSD, where, it records the data dynamically and it recovers more quickly. Who will be low down the burden on the RAM and the RAM can be used for uses such as for the opening of the games graphics high-end, etc..

    Hope this information is useful.

  • MBP is overheating and I have to restart several times per day

    Hello

My MBP is overheating, slowing to a crawl, and I have to restart several times a day (which may or may not help the issue).

    The machine is:

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end of 2013)

    2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

    DDR3 4 GB 1600 MHz

No expandable RAM (which is beyond me why they would make a non-expandable machine. I discovered after I bought it).

During the day I am running:

Mail application (with very complete box - this might be a contributing factor? Can I archive the emails registered)

Safari (with different tabs open, sometimes a lot sometimes just)

    Messages

    EverNote

Chrome (with different tabs open, sometimes a lot sometimes just)

... and from time to time, but not always:

    Overview

    Numbers of

I'm not game. I'm not streaming video. After a few hours of use, several times a day (often 2-4 times just one afternoon) the machine slows to a crawl and I reboot, which may or may not solve the problem of the speed and the heat.

I ran the activity monitor utility, and there are applications that I do not sometimes recognize using 11 to 18% of CPU (bird and soangent). Anyone know what here?

Thanks for all the ideas. I bought this MBP in June. It was the refurb decision-making, where I got all my Macs over the past ten years. It is the worse of them.

    Thank you.

Bird and soagent are the normal processes of Apple. Bird is one of the procedures used with the synchronize documents iCloud. soagent is used in conjunction with the Messages. In normal circumstances or will require an excessive amount of time processor. If you use Messages with a Google or other account not Apple (in other words, not exclusively iCloud) poor performance could be correlated with these accounts.

In any event 11-18% seems a bit much for me. Try to uninstall Evernote as well as all Google products. Or the other could possibly conflict with push social agent and / or document the Apple process synchronization. Google is disinterested or impossible to implement effective OS X apps.

Try to remove all accounts non - Apple Messages, but also completely remove Google from your Mac. You can always reinstall it and Evernote once again after a repair. Your data Google and Evernote is stored on their servers. Back up your Mac in any case, as a precaution.

Mail application (with very complete box - this might be a contributing factor? Can I archive the emails registered)

Perhaps. "Comprehensive" is relative. Some people keep dozens or even hundreds of thousands of e-mail messages. The practical limits of some Mail are, I don't know.

4 GB is perfectly adequate to run El Cap on a MBP of the retina. It would be premature to suspect material deficiencies, but products Google will introduce a new Mac, regardless of its configuration.

Run Apple Hardware Test to confirm that your exhaust fan MBP works normally. Apple Hardware Test is for Macs produced before June 2013. Later Macs use Apple Diagnostics.

  • Max Hardrive for CQ70-120US

Hello.  I want to improve my hardrive.  Anyone know what's the max hardrive taken capacity supported for my CQ70-120US laptop model?

Also is the maximum RAM supported limited to 3Gigs?

Here are the official specifications of HP:

    Plug

He said that you are limited to 3 gigs, but according to me, what they are referring to the max memory for 32-bit Vista which is 3 gigs. There is no need to go beyond 3 GB if you have a 32-bit version of Windows. I'm pretty sure that the laptop would be 4 GB of DDR2 memory, but it will be of use if you are installing a 64-bit version of Windows. The processor T3200 does support 64 bit OS' are unless HP has somehow that disabled in the BIOS.

With regard to the hard drive it is SATA so that you can install any drive laptop size on the market as long as it is 2.5 inches wide and 9.5 mm thick. I know you can use a 640 gig drive and they are even now 750 GB drives and 1 TB that will be adapted, but some of the biggest records wide 2.5 inches are too thick for laptops... more server blades are so careful to check the dimensions of what you buy.

  • Satellite L670 - screen don't market not 'start '.

I'm trying to fix the laptop named. The problem is that the screen start not (still empty) when I press the power button. I can hear the fan running and if I put a cd/dvd in the drive I can hear it turn. The problem occurs randomly and finally a few days then I can start the laptop normally, windows 7 loads normally and the only problem is overheating. However on the next working the same problems again.

I tried to remove the battery and the power cable and pressing the Start button for Tip 1-2 minutes, but it doesn't seem to work. When he did load I scanned it against viruses and hardware problems (with various tools, but nothing has been found). I used thin program drivers to update some drivers but still no result.

I tried to connect another monitor, but once again the two screen remains blank.

    What could be the problem?

    Satellite L670 (European model)

You mentioned the problem of overheating.
I guess it could be the main reason why the laptop does not work correctly.

The high internal temperature can affect the internal parts as mother and CPU, graphics card, RAM, card.
I can't say for sure what part may be the troublemaker, but in my opinion this isn't question of display.

For display problems, you should be able to use the laptop as part of the external monitor, but obviously this isn't possible

RAM replacement is not very delicate, it might be useful to test the new RAM modules, but it is a possible troublemaker
There is no guarantee that after the replacement of the RAM, the notebook would work perfectly.

  • CC of DreamWeaver keeps freezing every 30 seconds

I use DreamWeaver CC on a fairly new computer (1 week). Until tonight, everything was working well. Then, suddenly, DreamWeaver has started to freeze every 30 to 60 seconds. It will freeze, mouse still works and other programs always run smooth, but DreamWeaver will stop some text I'm in the middle of typing. Sometimes the text cursor will disappear. Sometimes the title bar will say 'Nor answers', and sometimes the ball spinning blue Windows is displayed whenever DreamWeaver is to the point.

The computer has two hard drives SSD SATA3 (Windows 7 Ultimate and DreamWeaver CC installed on a disk, and files that I work on are on the other SSD). The computer has Intel i7 3.5 GHz with 32 GB of RAM. I have the running task manager while you use DreamWeaver, using the CPU will never more than 10% and the use of the RAM is never beyond 4 GB, so clearly there are tons of resources available. Only have about 10 tabs open in DreamWeaver.

Yet once, have been using DreamWeaver great for a week, this problem just started around 21:00 Pacific time Saturday, November 1, 2014. Y at - it a update that would automatically downloaded CC which is buggy? Anyone else having these issues?

It is unbearable to work like this, as each words couple as I type, the freezing of the program for about 15 to 20 seconds and then comes back to life. No other program that I use for this is not a computer problem. The question is isolated within the DreamWeaver CC.

Work with local files only, not on the internet or network.

Please help - having trouble using this program. Furthermore, by using the trial version - so far, not convinced that I should pay for a software subscription based on which prevents me from doing work.

No new program installed, is not the issue.

I found the problem. Display solution for all those who may encounter the same problem.

Timed to this point, and the time between freezes varied and that seemed to be based more on the entry rather than time (anywhere from 40 seconds to a few minutes). The duration of the freeze was always exactly 20 seconds, when the blue mouse icon would turn entrance would be not accepted in DW and the program would fade to white.

I then noticed that one file was having the issue. I thought maybe it was a corrupted file, so I tried copying it on to a new file, which has not fixed it.

    Then I found the solution:

In my style sheet tags and script tags, the url was "/ / urlhere.com" instead of "https:// urlhere.com" (added space so that it was not automatically recognized on this forum as a URL.) Once I specified the Protocol in front of "/ /", fixed it. Although I have no idea why, I guess that without the specified protocol, DW search these files locally and gel when he cannot locate.

  • Question about RAM expansion on satellite notebook

    Hi all

I am currently looking to upgrade the ram on a satellite notebook. I looked everywhere and couldn't find what model it is, the model number is PSA-00300C8J if that helps.

Now I looked and you can see that the laptop has only 192 MB of ram installed, this seems quite strange to me, I always thought that he came from very specific amounts, 256, 512, etc..

So what I want to know is-

Should what kind of ram I buy?
Can I put 2 gig in there?
How many sticks should I buy?
What can I do with the old RAM?
How much should I look for to pay?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.
