  Thanks to all the proposals.  But good ' ol Google saved the day.  I googled "hpe sm bus controller driver update" and it adds Windows 7.  One of the HP forum reply recently was to go to the Intel download page and download the Intel chipset drivers.  Did.  Exclamation point is more ugly next to the SM Bus controller.

  Don't you think that it would be under the drivers for the MOBO or BIOS?  Or Chipset drivers?

  The audio device is another problem.  Looks like the sound card has a dead chip.  Installed a new card his discreet and now music to my ears.

  (Historical note: it all started when the original Pegatron Carmel mother died.)  Ordered a new one on ebay (same model and revision).  If I had the Intel chipset first, I wouldn't have had to wipe and re-install the operating system.

I tried to remove anything that did not come on the computer and what I just said try again, but it still does not work.  I have tried myself giving full ownership of readers, but it still does not work. He always tells me that I need permission from myself. Is any way for me to have my computer recognizes the HHD as the primary drive, and then I can move Windows and Steam my SSD?
