RDC 7.0 Vista to Windows 7 printers appear not

Remote Desktop Client 7.0 runs on Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP2 host computer.   Vista host has a USB and network printer.

I have set up my connection of the DRC, so that the resources of the printer must be made available... and I connect to remote host... a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit host with all the latest patches.
Once I have to authenticate on the Vista Windows 7, my local resources hosts (like etc PnP, disks,) are available - but the local printers on Vista are not.
How can I go on troubleshooting the cause of the failure here for two hosts MSFT so that when I print a report on the remote host on Windows 7, which print goes actually to my local printer on Vista machine?
Note: here, the irony is that, if a user connects with the DRC based MacOSX client, remote printing works as expected...

Vita windows downgrade to windows xp

I have Windows Vista (window professional vista OEMAct) so I want to Downgrade to Windows XP Vita, please provide GOLD key of Windows XP guide

You cannot "downgrade".  The only way to switch to XP is to install XP to clean.  Before you anything make sure that XP drivers are available from the manufacturer of your computer.  If this isn't the case, stick with Vista.

Vista downgrade rights ended when Vista was removed from retail sales.  In any case, they were available from the computer manufacturers.

Nobody is going to provide you with a XP product key.  The only way to get a XP product key is to buy XP.

If you have a software, you need to run under XP, you can do so by using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007.  However, you must provide your own copy of XP, including a product key.

  • Vista > iTunes Windows 7 and migration

Hello, first time poster.  I had an older iPad where I got my music on a laptop running Vista.  More recently, I got a new iPad 2 air.  I still had my music on the laptop for a while.  However, in the last two months, this capability was broken.  The version of iTunes on the laptop is 12.1.27.  I can use this version of iTunes to manage the music on the laptop of course, but when I plug the new iPad 2 Air it says "the iPad is unusable because it requires a newer version of iTunes.  «On itunes and download»  I'll download it and the link specifically says that I get iTunes 12.3.3 for Windows XP and Vista.  So it should be good.  However, when I install it says "iTunes requires that your computer is running Windows 7 or newer.

I also don't seem to be able to migrate this iTunes on my Windows 7 (12.3.2.35) desktop configuration.  On the Windows 7 Desktop, I certainly can't change the song information and perform basic tasks.  Also, I can't seem to even add music to iPad 2 air, but I don't know because I can't sort the music for iPad on the iTunes for Windows 7.  The iTunes on my desktop Windows 7 also has other music files detected, it lacks most of the music on my laptop.  Of course, I don't want to spend weeks to make some kind of manual cross-checking one by one all of the databases involved and trying to get my computer to look just like the laptop.  There must be some kind of clever way to migrate here.  In particular why iTunes 12.3.3 for Windows XP and Vista would give such a message of error?  I am on iOS 9.3.1.  Thanks in advance.

Update from Apple system is broken in that it offers 12.3.3 as valid version on Windows XP and Vista.  Support for Windows Vista (and XP) was abandoned when Apple iTunes 12.2 released last year.  The latest (and certainly last) version in support of Vista is 12.1.3.6 - this is an out-of-sequence of September 2015 version that adds support for iOS devices 9, but has no music to Apple and other features added in iTunes, 12.2 and 12.3.  Links for installers:

The last of them is actually (as well as all editions of '64-bit' iTunes before 12.1.2) 32-bit application with a 64-bit Installer - this should be used if you get a warning message about the incompatibility of the video card and can also send questions with bad audio playback, integration with 3rd party software and the overall stability of iTunes.  However, f you only need to migrate the library from Vista to Windows 7, you do not need to update the software on the laptop.

To transfer your library of the Vista desktop from Win7 laptop, you must copy the complete library from the first to the last.  To do this with iTunes does not not on a system.  If you follow default iTunes, source on the laptop folder is C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes - according to the size, you can copy it to a network using a USB key, or a disc hard external., this folder and all its contents should be copied in C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes on the desktop (you can also access it as C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes).  If you have not added new media to the desktop, you can simply replace all content existing there.  Then launch iTunes on the desktop and you should find your entire library restored for you.  Because this method transfers the iTunes as well as your media database, it has the added benefit that your iDevices will see this as 'the same' library, so you will have no problems with the content being removed from the iDevice when you synchronize.

Once everything is copied, and you have verified the results, and if you don't plan to use the laptop Vista with iTunes again, make sure that remove you your Apple ID on this machine.

The following links provide more information:

    • How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support - it's the 'official' documentation of the migration process
    • Make a library of portable split - steps that may be needed to bring the library on your laptop in the layout that makes it easy to migrate (applies only if you have media files outside of the standard folders iTunes Media or other changes made to the default functions of iTunes)
    • Backup your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library - medium recommended for the copy of your library to/from an external drive with a tool. s more reliable that the standard copy of Windows works (particularly relevant if you have a large library).  The same method can be used to create and maintain a backup of your iTunes library - something you should do frequently.

  • detected but printers do not print

My Sony Vaio detects different printers and installs the required drivers, but when we try anything Print print.  Tried on different printers that work with laptops.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Hello

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community. I don't understand how he feels when things don't work the way they should.

How you try to connect to the printer? It's USB or wireless?

Are you using any printer sharing (sharing of USB device) software? This can cause this kind of behavior. In addition, it could be a USB problem. Try changing the printer on another USB port.

Follow the steps mentioned below and check if this is useful:

    Method 1:

If this is not the case, the printer sharing go all printers in control panel/devices and printers/remove / unplug USB login/restart.
After you start your system and then connect the printer usb connection and Windows 7 should find that a new device is added.

    Method 2:

Temporarily disable the firewall, and check if the problem occurs.

Note: Enable the firewall after you perform this step, because it would protect your computer from threats.

    Method 3:

Windows 7 printers will not work if you try to use incompatible device drivers. The problem where Windows 7 printers will not work is solved when you download and install the latest drivers for the printer device is connected to the computer running the latest operating system from Microsoft.

Among other problems is that the printer is not detected when you attach it to a Windows 7 computer via the USB port. In this case, Windows 7 is not able to find the printer or even if it does, it can not find a device in its data base driver. If the computer is connected to the Internet, the operating system tries to access the Windows Update database and find a compatible driver. Although this version fixes a few problems, in other cases you will need to personally find a compatible driver.

    Uninstall the driver:
    a. click the "Control Panel" button located on the window Menu 'Start'.

    b. double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the "Control Panel" window This will create a window that will scan all installed software and present it to you in a list. This list may take a few minutes to complete, depending on the speed of your computer and the number of installed programs.

    c. scroll down the list of programs and locate your printer drivers. These will have the name of your printer manufacturer and the model number in them.

    d. click after the entry of the driver and then click on the "Uninstall/change" button that appears to the right the driver announcement.

    e. follow the on-screen instructions provided by the manufacturer of your driver such as they appear to you after pressing the "Uninstall/change" button to remove the drivers.

    f. restart your computer for changes to take effect.

    Then reinstall the driver.

To search for, download and install the latest drivers for your printer device, log on to the site Web of the manufacturer of the printer and check out for the latest device drivers compatible with Windows 7. Download the software pack and install it manually by double clicking the device driver installer that you downloaded and by following the instructions on the screen. You can open devices and printers from the control panel to check and change the default settings of the printer.

  • Deskjet 710/720/810/820/1000 Series printers - Patch for 64 bit Vista and Windows 7

There is a problem with the 64-bit, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers which causes the spooler crash with the following HP Deskjet printers:

    DeskJet 710

    DeskJet 712

    DeskJet 720

    DeskJet 722

    DeskJet 810

    DeskJet 812

    Deskjet 820

    DeskJet 822

    DeskJet 1000

The attachment contains a fix for this problem for Vista and Windows 7.

[The patch does not work for Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 x 64 systems.  There are efforts to this address, if a solution is developed it will be shown here.  [{Edit - I did not progress by getting the patch to run in Windows 8 x 64.}]

First of all make sure that the driver for the installed printer.  If the driver has not been installed go to start devices and printers, add printer, the local printer, choose the appropriate port (for the converters, USB-parallel, the port likely USB001: or maybe USB002 :), then click Windows Update then choose HP for the manufacturer and select the appropriate printer.)

Apply the patch as follows: log in to the computer with an administrator account.  Download the patch by clicking on this link or on the trombone at the end of this post.  Save the hotfix on your computer, then unzip it.  Then, copy the three DLL files in the following directory: %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3

Note that %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the location of the Windows directory. For most systems it will be C:\Windows.  You can click Start, computer, and type %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 in the address bar and it is in the right place.

This can be done from a DOS command prompt if BACK is opened with the "run as Administrator" command or to explore with a copy and paste.  Depending on your UAC settings, you may need to provide confirmation.  Also allow existing files to be replaced if you are prompted.

This patch is not necessary and should not be applied to a 32-bit version of Vista or Windows 7.

Thanks to extraordinary Microsoft engineer Alan Morris forguidelines for patch.

Update - here is that of the more detailed installation instructions:

Download the patch on the DJ_Patch.zip at the bottom of the page and save it on your computer.  Now click on the file and open it, and then extract the fix in a directory that is easy to find. (I use c:\temp. If this directory does not exist you can create it as follows: open the administrative BACK prompts by clicking Start, all programs, accessories, and then right-click on CMD. EXE and select run as administrator. Click in the DOS window, and then type the following command:

    MD c:\temp

    CD \temp

Now extract the patch files in the c:\temp directory (all, extract c:\temp chose as a destination).

[Update - Windows security settings can prevent these files from being used, please open computer, type c:\temp in the address bar and then right click on each of the dll files and select Properties.]  If there is a message indicating the properties file has been downloaded from the internet and can be blocked and then unlock the file before continuing.]

Then, click back to the administrative DOS prompt and type the following: (the green stuff are comments, do not type them...)

*. DLL DIR (just to check that the files are there, it should list hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll and perhaps others).

Net stop spooler (ensures that the files are not in use.)

Copy hpvdb720.dll C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this is for the Deskjet 710/712/720/722)

Copy hpvdb820.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this covers the Deskjet 820 and 822)

    Hpwm5db1.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3(this covers the Deskjet 1000 copy)

    NET Start Spooler

    Output

[Edit - note that these DLL files will already be in the directory.  You will get a warning asking if it's OK to replace the files, say "Yes".]

At this point, the patch is installed and ready to print.

Note that here printers do not support USB connections, they have only the parallel ports. [Edit - if your printer has a parallel port to use, it will be probably much less problematic than the use of a converter USB / parallel].   If you use a make you converter USB / parallel it is supported in your operating system.  The following messages are reported by cables USB-parallel that are supposed to work in Windows 7.   A driver is required for the converter USB / parallel besides the driver of the printer.  For converters supported, it is usually provided automatically in Windows 7.  Note: the appropriate to select for USB-parallel converter port is often USB001:.  I've heard of cases where the port was USB002: or LPT3: as well.  If the port you are using is unable (after applying the fix) try to change the port by going to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties, then click the Ports tab.

Mick4 wrote: the problem is that I only could unzip the 3 dll files but don't know how to replace the bad dll files. Mick 4

If you use Windows 7 do the following: log in as a user with the administrater properties.  [The following assumes that you are using IE as your browser] Click on the here link and select "Save".   Once the download is complete, select "Open folder", then right-click on the DJ_patch.zip file and select extract all.   If extract all is not an option, then click on "Open with" and select Windows Explorer.

Leave the default directory and check the box "Show extracted files when you are finished", excerpt.   Click Start, computer, and type % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3.  Arrange the windows so that you can access the two parts of the window.  Go in the first pane and select the three files dll, hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll.  Now drag and drop them to the % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 window, select copy and answer to 'replace' in the dialog box.

Note: %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the Windows directory.  For most systems it will be C:\Windows, but it can vary depending on the configuration of NDO of hardware configuration of the computer.  If you type %windir%\SysWoW64\cmd.exe in the address bar in Explorer or in start, search programs and files, it will find the right directory.

    Hello:

I do not think because the video card is not windows Vista or 7 capable. There may be other hardware not able either.

The best thing to do is to download and run the Upgrade Advisor free windows 7, which will signal the backward compatibility of your PC with windows 7.

Plug in and turn on any peripheral equipment (printers, scanners, etc.), you, and she will report on their compatibility too.

  • Upgrading a network to Windows Vista to Windows 7 computer

I have a home network (XP based) which works very well for years.  Three computers, two printers, and all worked very well together.  It's just my wife and me, and network security has never been a high priority.  Now, I want to add new computers to the system, one is a Dell with Windows Vista laptop. and it is a HP with Windows 7.  I followed the Network Wizard I used before creating the network; I created a file and was walking and it ran on all of the old and new computers.  The two XP machines can still talk to each other fine, the Vista machine can see two XP machines - but the machines XP get a window "permission error" when trying to access the Vista and WIndows 7 machine is on an island, he sees not all computers and all computers get a login screen before you can access the Windows 7 machine; even if we have no password on the Windows 7 computer.  As I said - it's just my wife and me, and we have no password or sign ins on all machines and would like to keep this simplicity.  FYI - all thte computers can access the internet fine and all use the same router to do.  Please tell us how can I better return to the situation that I had before where I could sit to one count; access to all the others, without a bunch of security and authorization issues.
